Spent two nights here, it is a lovely campsite. Spacious and clean. It has a toilet and shower block in the field next to the camping field where the static caravans are. You simply turn up and pitch your tent, then the following morning the owner turns up for payment £20 for a family of four. You are not far from Betws Yr Coed and there is a forest walk that takes you there directly opposite camp entrance, it can be quite steep in places, takes about 20 mins depending on fitness levels. This is a quiet family campsite and campfires are allowed as long as they are off the ground in a pit or something similar. There is a little stream that small children really enjoy and small and basic wooden play area. We enjoyed it here and will definitely return.

The site is in a stunning location with views down the Conwy Valley. The site was really clean, tidy and well-maintained, as were the facilities: toilets, showers, washing-up. There were coin-operated laundry washing and drying machines, and the use of a large chest freezer. We pitched on arrival around midday and paid that evening when the owners did the rounds, without the need to book. There's a really nice woodland path immediately opposite the site that leads to the nearby Betws-y-Coed, just over a mile away where there are plenty of shops and eateries! This was our first camping trip and Cwmlanerch has ensured it won't be our last!

Like the other review, we found this campsite by resorting to the OS map when our previously planned campsite at the seaside turned out to be closed. Excellent, clean facilities as mentioned already. We went at the beginning of July, Monday-Saturday, and we almost had the place to ourselves for most of the week. Looks like it might get very busy at the weekends though.

The River Conwy next to it is lovely. There are warnings about strong currents, but at the time of year we went, it was calm enough for a paddle. Further along is a lovely big beach good for barbecues.

Cost us £20 for a family of 4, which is excellent value considering all the facilities. There is a little wooden play park, but our kids were very happy kicking a ball around the field most of the time anyway.

Cwmlanerch was the first campsite we stopped at on our travels and was most certainly the best! The plan was to stay here for one night but this turned into 4!

Kids loved playing in the stream, I sat there, glass of wine in hand with some cheese and crackers from the local delicatessen- perfect!

Owners were laid back and friendly- what more can one ask for.

Toilets were kept clean.

Lovely walk into Betws y Coed through the woods.

Beautiful location, great weekend. Can't wait to go back.

We found this site by chance when we fled Scotland's midges and we discovered a crown jewel!. The tent field is beautiful, close to a stream that flows into a fishing river at the bottom of a large gently sloping field. There is good drainage under the field but that means you will need some good strong pegs or be willing to replace some as there are quite a lot of stones under the surface. The facilities are good and well tended, clean and updated regularly. A family run farm with caravans and camping and the family could not be more helpful and friendly. They supply free use of a freezer in a utility room which is stocked with tourist info and a payphone. There are slot operated washing and drying machines and electric points if you must charge your mobile. Washing up sinks/drainers are outside but fully under cover and again, very well maintained. This year (our 7th year with only one missed) we opted for a static caravan which is next to the camping field with a lovely view through the trees, a private yard and parking. The surrounding scenery is outstanding and whilst I rave about it, please don't go. We love the peace of this place so if you would like to forget you ever saw this review it will preserve the peace of our secret retreat. Hehehe.

Read some mixed reviews before we went but have to say that what we found when we got there can only be described as excellent. The facilities are basic but really clean. There are ample showers available with an endless supply of hot water. The toilets were spotless and well stocked with loo roll. Extras included free of charge are shaving points in the gents and a chest freezer. There are 2 good sized sinks for washing up with plenty of hot water. The couple that run the site were really friendly and laid back. They have no problem with dogs and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. There's a gate in the main field leading to a fantastic spot where you can sit next to the river and even take a swim if you fancy it. It's within walking distance to Betws-Y-Coed, take the woodland path, you won't be disappointed or run over! We paid £15 per night for 2 adults (in a tent) plus 1 dog and we'll definitely be going again.

The site is a large mown field, slighly sloping but with level areas around its perimeters. It is extremely peaceful being down a long drive from the B5106, there is virtually no noise from the few trains on the single track railway as it is in a deep cutting by the road and the farm buildings are between it and the site, while the A470 is on the distant side of the Conwy valley.

A sign at the entrance to the field says pitch when you arrive and payment will be collected in the morning. This gateway is at a bit of an angle, so I am guessing tourers might perhaps have to be unhitched and swung round to get in?

On arrival I couldn't see any facilities and had to ask another camper. The building is hidden on the other side of a hedge with trees, where there are static caravans. You either go down a track from the gateway at the top of the field, or cross a stream (dry at the time of my stay) at the foot of the field. The gents has a urinal, 2 wc's, 2 handbasins and 1 shower. The latter is excellent, and all are spotlessly clean.

It would be dangerous to walk on the pavementless road to the village. A track starts behind a cottage on the far side of the road and ends after a mile at a cul-de-sac of houses where you turn left on a little lane passing the public conveniences and little car park, to the B5106 bridge over the Llugwy.

After travelling around, I wanted to spend some more nights on this site but when I returned I found there was a large group of young men with tents, car and minibus in one corner, and a group of 4 tents in the opposite corner. Thinking of that solitary shower, I went to another site. How can I rate the site facilities fairly? My choice is 9 out of 10 for quality and cleanliness, or 4 out of 10 for the limited quantity, the average of these being 7.

This is a beautiful site in a sheltered valley. There is no electricity but the loos and showers were fine. It was not very full, so it was quiet. The owners are very helpful by e mail or phone and the price is very reasonable (we paid £7 a night each for a campervan and a small tent. ) It is about 10 minutes from Betws y Coed or LLanrwst, and the latter is better by far for general shopping (there's a big Co-op with a free car park, as well as a lot of small shops. )

We spent one night here. Very good, clean facilities.

There was no one there when we arrived so we just pitched up and we didn't see anyone until the following morning. We didn't know the area well so could have done with a welcome and a quick heads up of the area, for example we didn't realise you could walk to Betws - y - coed from the site. No tourist information on site (that we could find). Also could do with some signage to show where toilet blocks were, bins etc.

It is a lovely site though and we would come back if we were in the area.

We visited this site on the second Bank Holiday weekend in May.

Site easy to find, and not far from the village. We found two walks into the village - one along the river - not an official path as such but lovely views. Second path was in the forest as mentioned in the other reviews.

We arrived on the Friday afternoon and you can pitch wherever you want to. The field was lovely and flat pretty much all over and one side of the field runs along the river and one side the little stream which runs through the site. Tents were separate to the caravans, and the facilities were over the little stream on the caravan side.

The facilities were spotless, ladies had 2 showers and 3 toilets which were busy by the Saturday when the field was nearly full. There are only two sinks which we didn't have to really wait for to wash up. There are an additional two showers by the washing up area.

Also a large freezer was available and a washing machine and dryer (had to pay for these).

Not sure about the gents but in the ladies there are two sockets to use for hair dryers, straighteners and phones etc. Hubby also said there were plug sockets in the laundry room.

Owners seemed friendly enough and came round to collect money the next morning, we paid for it all in one go but she did say we could pay nightly.

Reasonably priced, although if you had more than 2 children the price could start building up and it is £1 a night per dog too, so £19 a night for 2 adults and 1 x 3year old and 1 x5 year old and 1 x dog.

Stunning views from the site and easy to get to the village. We ate in Y Stablu as they allow dogs on the terrace and food is fab there, although most places seem to be dog friendly in the village.

There is a spar which is great to buy bits you need without having to drive out of the village and it has an instore bakery - the cakes are out of this world and very cheap!

We plan to visit again with the site only being about an hour and fifteen minutes from home.
