Visited earlier this month. The campsite is positioned next to the river accessed through a gate on the camping field. A pleasant walk down to the bridge and a good place to exercise the dog. I've heard you can walk up the river into Betys but I don't think its an official path so we opted for the track behind the yellow cottage opposite the entrance to the site.
The site is very clean and there is a water point on the back of each electrical hook up where you can connect a hose pipe up to your van. There is also a waste drain you can connect to. (You'll need a longer hose if your drain outlet isn't at the rear of the van).
The staff are very polite and helpful and seem to have time to chat.
Toilets/showers where fine though I suspect they may struggle if the camping field is full.
Even though it rained for a couple of days, the touring side drained very well without any water running through the awning.
Will visit this site again.

We visited Cwmlanerch at the end of October. This site could really use some heat in the toilet block, it was not pleasant at this time of year, although I have to say they were kept very clean.
The site is in a very nice location although walking along the footpath into Betwys Y Coed in the woods, in the dark at night would not be ideal and the road was not safe, therefore we found we only used the car.
There was no traffic noise from the main road which is a bonus. Could maybe benefit from a bit more grounds maintenance.

Have just returned from an overnight stay at this lovely campsite. The camping field is separate from the touring section and is flat and spacious with lovely views near the river.
We walked into Betws y Coed via the path behind the cottage opposite the entrance with other walks in the woods which we didn't have time to explore.
The facilities are clean and tidy and plentiful with dishwashing area, a laundry, freezer and payphone.
There is also a children's play area. It is a turn up and pitch site - no pre-booking- and the owner just comes round to collect the money.
As it was October, there were only a handful of tents but would think that it would be very popular in high season.
Would definitely recommend and will most certainly be returning.

I only spent one night at this idyllic site whilst walking the surrounding area. The toilet block is spotlessly clean and the free hot shower very welcome after a day walking.
The camping field is flat and the grass well kept and short. There is a children's play area and a lovely stream running along the edge of the camping field.
It is a short walk into Betws-y-coed and the local area has plenty of restaurants, gift shops and out door shops to browse. I left early in the morning and just managed to meet the friendly site owner before I left.
A place that I will most definitely return to for a longer stay to fully appreciate the peace and quiet of this gem of a campsite.

The site is located in a beautiful setting near to the river (the large pebble beach brought hours of fun and relaxing with our 2 year old).
Good location for getting out and about nearby with lovely walks from the site.
Play area was well positioned. Toilet block was well kept but as this was a busy period was definitely in need of a larger facility for showers and dishwashing areas.
We will definitely re-visit possibly in one of the cottages. The owner was approachable and helpful – which all helped towards a great holiday.
Only suggestions: a better lock on the gate down to river straight off camping field and possibly a mop left in toilets to wipe out showers between use.

This was our first time at this site and had read reviews prior to our visit and thought it was just what we like not too big but friendly and clean.
It was all those things, we stayed for a weekend with 2 adults a 7 year old and a dog. Lovely position next to river I a assuming there is also a stream that runs alongside but this was dry due to little rainfall.
You go into the caravan side for all the facilities which where spotless and there is a laundry and freezer available too.
The walk into Betws Y Coed is lovely behind yellow cottage facing site entrance, through pine forest but mind we kept walking and found we overshot town by a good mile, ended up walking along river to waterfall and then had to walk back to town.
The walk along the road to the campsite is a bit hairy as there are no pavements that was the only negative really, and no reflection on the site.
We really enjoyed the weekend and the lovely weather helped, very relaxed site not many rules and regulations but enough to ensure everyone has a good stay, will definitely be returning.

We have stayed on this campsite more times than I can remember over the past 2 years.
Lovely site and good clean facilities each time we have been.
Washer & dryer on site with a freezer for food and ice pack storage.
Lovely walk along the river conwy which is used a lot with the dog owners.
Also there is some walks on the opposite hill side which takes you along the old mine entrances and up to a big lake.
All 3 of my children have enjoyed staying at the site and love playing in the small stream. Only downside is the park area isn't up to much and can be quite slippy in wet weather. A park upgrade is defo needed on this site.
Overall a lovely site which is a mile walk away from bewts-y-coed.

We have returned to this campsite again and again. It is just far enough away from the hustle and bustle without being isolated. The children love coming back. We started coming as a base for mountain biking but over the years as our camping crew grew and children started coming along we have also had some family friendly trips here with walks along the river and padding in the stream. Facilities are kept clean and tidy and the owners are very helpful. It is very free and easy without lists of rules and regulations, on one occasion we did have a group that didn't respect other people on site but the owners were very proactive in dealing with the situation. Not the place to come if you want shops and entertainment on site.

Stayed at this sites loads of times over the last few years and its buy far the best of any other site ok not 5 stars but for the price its bang on location perfect just 15 min walk through the forest and your in the town, on the bank of the river conway and slap bang in the middle of north Wales so perfect to explore.
The site owners are as laid back as you can get just turn up pitch your tent then they call in the morning for payment in a very friendly manner unlike some sites, and they are quite happy to chat and give advice on the area.
Toilet block is fine cleaned every day I have never had to wait for a shower as they have a few extra ones outside only problem is the odd camper that does not no how to flush a toilet! you no who you are?
Can get busy some weekends sometimes the odd idiot arrives but if they are over the top the owners soon shift them.
Some great walks from the site the one up the hill behind is well worth it when you get to the top lovely lake and miles of forest track to walk but take a map ! down the road in trifew 2 more lakes to drive up to well off the beaten track with a cafe etc.
I would suggest shopping in llanwrist as its not as busy and more shops plus cheaper that bewstycoed.
All in all a perfect place for a good weekend or more. Looking forward to staying there this year in our new caravan but they only have 4 or 5 pitches for vans so will have to book early tents no problem just turn up and pitch where you want, a few bookable pitches with electric in the small top field might be a good idea for the future?

Would like to say what a great site this is, the staff are very friendly,
Toilets and showers are very clean same goes for the washing area for dishes,
Would like there to be a shop there for small items like milk, eggs bread those sort of thing but it's not much of a problem as betws-y-coed is just a 20 minute walk away, there are good pubs and plenty of places to eat, loads of shops.
A really good walking area for short or long walks and not to far if you want to do snowdon. Hope to be back later in the year with the rest of the family.
