We hadn't planned to visit this site but did so hoping to find some children for our 9 year old to befriend - Easter is a very quiet time in France.
On arrival we were very warmly greeted by the Receptionist who took time to drive us around to show us available pitches and then again to see us onto the pitch.
It's an excellent campsite with all the facilities you could wish for in very pleasant surroundings. It was extremely cold when we visited so didn't take full advantage of all on offer but we did enjoy the indoor swimming pools for the 3 days we were there. As already noted, be prepared that there are no changing rooms and only 2 communal open showers and 2 toilets in there.
I'm sure in the summer it does get very busy, but on one day we had the whole complex to ourselves.
We didn't get a chance to try out the bar or snack bar but had a good look around everything and it all looked great. Just pretty deserted at Easter.
We walked into St Pair Sur Mer one day along the road (not pleasant or recommended) - about 5km, and back along the beach and well marked coastal route (much nicer) - about 4km. St Pair is a pleasant town with some shops and a small market on Thursday.
We visited out of season using our ACSI card which made it a very reasonable few days, and although I haven't checked the costs for high season yet, we would love to return to this site in the summer.

We have just returned after staying 8 nights in our tent on a comfort pitch. This is probably the best campsite we have stayed on and we have been to a few over the years!
The location and campsite is excellent with plenty to entertain our young kids. Facilities are very clean and well maintained.
The shop has a limited selection but there is a supermarket about 5 minutes drive up the road. Fresh bread etc is available from the shop each morning. There is a take away which was surprisingly good especially if you arrive late and are trying to set up camp in the dark!
There is a bar that stays open reasonably late but isn't too loud or rowdy. During our stay there was live music on two nights which we could hear from the porch of our tent whilst enjoying a glass of the local wine, perfect.
Swimming pool and play areas are good. Quiet roads and tracks near by for running and cycling.
All in all a great site, although it should be noted that the weather was very good and often puts a more positive outlook on things. We have been so impressed that we are already talking about camping there again next year!
One minor criticism (and it is minor), whilst the washroom/toilets are very clean and cleaned regularly throughout the day, there is no hand soap so be sure to take some with you!

Without a doubt the best campsite I have stayed on. Great facilities, very well kept/cleaned and very helpful, friendly staff.
The site is very picturesque, in the grounds of a small chateau. We took our 14 yr old youngest son with us and found plenty to do on site. Sports facilities include a couple of outdoor table tennis tables, a volleyball net and a small football pitch, plus the indoor and outdoor pools.
We didn't use the outdoor pool, but it was kept very clean. The indoor pool has 3 slides and a separate shallow pool for young kids, with plastic animals spraying water. Only criticism is that both pools are quite small, so not really enough room to plough up and down doing lengths. Note there are no changing rooms at either pool, so you need to go in your swimming gear - and shorts-style trunks are not allowed, just the bum-hugging variety.
A row of buildings next to the chateau house a small shop, a games room, a take-away food outlet and the bar, which also serves breakfast (croissant/pain-aux-chocolate, baguette, condiments, coffee/hot chocolate). There are tables on a patio outside the bar and take-away outlet where you can eat/drink while watching people fish in the lake.
We has a basic pitch which was still amply large (100 sq m) and had an electricity supply with a water tap very close by.
Nothing much to do within walking distance, but within easy reach by car of Mont St Michel and not too far from the Normandy D-Day beaches (about 90 mins drive) with their museums etc. The nearest town, Granville, has a nice beach and some decent restaurants.
We would definitely stay here again.

This is what camping at its best looks like.
Its a fantastic site and a credit to the owners, set in the grounds of a beautiful châteaux, delightful well kept pitches go for Grand comfort. Facilities are excellent and small showers for kids.
Good Laundry small shop.
The pool is great with a life guard and loads for the Kids to do. The bar on site is very good with friendly service and good prices.
Hats off to the reception crew who were perfect helpful and just went that extra mile on everything. Granville Market is a must.
Go you wont be let down its idyllic.

I think that this is the nicest campsite we have stayed on! (and this was even in the rain)
We paid for a larger pitch, which I would suggest is worth doing (and may have been why I loved it so much as we did have lots of nice space around us)
The site itself is very well maintained and clean, lovely play areas for children of all ages. A bar where there is entertainment & take-away too. (Mussels & frites highly recommended. But everyone we spoke to said DONT TRY THE PIZZAS!)
There seem to be several shower-blocks. Ours was clean - the only thing I didn't like about the whole site was that the showers/WCs & washing up etc was all in one building and was uni-sex too.
The chateau on site is a private building, so you cannot visit, but you are free to roam the grounds. Excellent for bikes, we cycled to the beach (I think about 15-20 mins) and had a lovely day there (Lovely beach, wide & sandy!)
There is fishing on site - we watched them catching some quite large fish.
There is a well stocked shop. Fresh bread etc sold here. Thought prices were reasonable.
Reception were extremely helpful & the pool area was clean and fun (slides, which the children loved)
Dont forget English males must wear 'speedos' as opposed to our UK type swim shorts (this included the children)
There is quite a bit of space for the children to play frisbee or kick a ball around. Very good site for families.
Highly recommended. Would 100% return.
Really loved this site :)

We spent a very pleasant week at this site. Mainly because it was all that was left when we booked, we ended up with a 'luxury' pitch (i. E. Mains hookup and your own tap!). This also meant that we were at the quieter end of the site away from the pools and play areas and close to the new shower block. Also these pitches are bigger so were worth the extra cost.
Facilities on the site were very good. Kids loved the two pools (though my son wasn't too keen on having to wear speedos rather than his usual baggies - note that they did enforce this and ejected a couple of kids from the pool who were so-say 'unhygenic'); the bar and outside terrace also got a fair amount of use. The shop was fine for the essentials but the Casino Geant 5 minutes away is much cheaper and stocks pretty much everything you could ever need.
The location is OK but there's not much in walking distance so be prepared to drive. We did cycle to the beach at Jullouville one day but the sea was a long long way out.
All in all a very relaxing place to stay, especially when the weather is good.

We stayed here in a Eurocamp tent and thought the site was lovely. It took about an hour and a half to get to from the ferry at Cherbourg. The receptionist was lovely and were happy ro listen to my dodgy French or speak in English!
The park has chalets, mobile homes and eurocamp tents as well as pitches.
The new service block by us had excellent facilities, at least 12 showers, around 10 sink only cubicles, 4 toilets (never had to wait but seemed not enough for high season), 4 washing up sinks and 4 washing machines and 2 driers. Also a urinal section and a baby room with baby bath and surfaces to dress/undress baby.
The bar opened at 6. 30 every night apart from Monday. Stella was 4 euro, local cider 2. 30 euro and childs squash 1. 20 euro. Coke was 2 euro a glass. The games room is 2 euro a game of pool, there are computers you can use (pay at the bar), wifi available at a charge too. TV generally set to music channel but could be changed by yourself (French and German channels).
The takeaway opened at 6pm every night. Pizzas, salads and chips. Nothing very exciting to be honest. The shop is well stocked and you can order baguettes and croissants the night before for the following morning. The shop opens 8-11 and 5-8pm. There is a large supermarket a 5 minute drive away which would be better for a week's worth of shopping.
The outdoor pool wasn't used much but it was cleaned every morning and covered over at night. My husband braved it and reported it to be of a reasonable temperature. The children and I preferred the covered pool. 2 small paddling pools, a deeper pool for swimming and 3 different slides. There are no changing facilities which caught us out on our first visit.
There were 2 bouncy castles that are inflated all day. Our girls love these. They also loved the play area. Although they were disappointed there were no swings.
There were bikes to hire at reasonable cost, a lot of choice from bikes for small children through to adults including child carriers and child trailers!
We visited Granville and enjoyed the harbour, the restaurants and the aquarium. We went to the zoo at champerus (?) and the market at avaranches.
However, if you are thinking of going to Eurocamp tents here, I would not bother. I was disappointed with the experience and vow never to leave my poor tent at home again!

Initial view on entering was disappointing, the site looked quite 'down at heal', although we did get a warm welcome. We were with friends who where in a mobile home. We had been put at the top end of the site, which looked liked it needed some TLC. Lots of flies around, meant no sitting outside. The other end of the site near to the 'Chateau' looked much nicer and what I expect from a French campsite. The mobile home was clean although again the outside needed some TLC, nowhere nice to sit outside. Most of the other mobile homes had nice decking areas.
The swimming pools were good, although the indoor one is only open 10 till 12 and 3 till 6 - 5 hours each day is not very much. (I have marked down the site facilities as I do not think the pool was open long enough)
Location - not a lot around the area. Mont St Michel is about 40 miles away and is well worth visiting, but I would choose somewhere nearer to there and St Malo
The showers were clean. The laundry area was closed though.

We stayed here during Whitsun 2011 week in a Eurocamp tent. We all thoroughly enjoyed our time, despite my initial concerns that may be there wouldn't have been enough for my children to do (ages 11, 13 and 15). However, these turned out to be unfounded as we all had a great time!
The site itself was very quiet, despite being half-term and there were plenty of pitches available if you were bringing your own tent/caravan. It got busy towards the end of the week due to Ascension Bank Holiday in France on Thursday.
The kids play area was very well-maintained and was in a central position within the campsite. The campsite itself was immaculate and very picturesque. There was also a fishing lake which you could fish from free of charge. The campsite is part of the Les Castels chain, and the staff were very prominent in keeping the site clean and tidy.
There are 3 shower blocks on site. The 3rd one which was nearest to us was brand-new and opened this week. Can't speak for the other 2, but our one was spotless and the showers were the best I've ever had on a campsite! No push-buttons and you could control speed and temperature yourself. There were plenty of washing-up areas and washing machines/tumble dryers in each block. We never had to queue for shower/wash-up etc. However I do like to take my time over my coffee and croissant so often didn't get to have my shower until after 10am.
There are 2 swimming pools - an indoor complex with slides and an outdoor pool. Quite small, but was warm and quite often we had it to ourselves! The indoor pool complex was good. The baby/toddler bit was up at the top with loungers around the side. The slides had smooth landings rather than a plunge at the end, which was quite nice for the younger children.
The site had a small bar (which we didn't really use), a takeaway - we did use this a couple of times, which was quite good. There is a small shop on-site which was reasonably priced, but then you do expect to pay slightly more on-site. However, there is a Geant supermarket about 5 minutes up the road towards Granville.
We didn't do a huge amount of sight-seeing whilst we were there. We went to Granville a few times and took some superb sunset pictures from the Roc. We went down to the Marina one evening. We also went to the beaches at St Pair and Jullouville. Both are safe for children, although the tide goes out quite a way! We also visited Jullouville market.
All-in-all, we had a fantastic time. Weather was glorious the whole time. Would I go back to this site again.? Absolutely! In fact, planning to go back next May!

We only stayed for 3 nights but I wish it could have been longer.
One day was overcast and chilly but no problem because the indoor waterpark is all heated. The waterpark was fun for all ages (including grown ups)! I had to drag my kids out of there at closing time!
The kids play area is well equipped and safe.
The shop is reasonably well stocked and not overly expensive.
Showers & loos were not perfect but as good as any I have encountered in campsites, in fact better than most.
Downside is that our pitch was at the bottom of a tree lined path and it seemed to act as a wind tunnel, so was always cold and windy even when the rest of the site is warm and sunny.
Pitch itself was easily big enough for our tent, cooking and dining stuff.
On site staff all very friendly and helpful.
Heaps of stuff to do locally, Mont St Michel is a must.
