This was our first visit to this site and found directions from the harbour ready to follow. Check in was straight forward and we could choose were we wanted to pitch. The site shop was more than adequate for our needs and the weekly visit from the pizza van was a real bonus. Facilities on site were good and hot water free for showers. The location of the site was good for access to tourist attractions and local beaches. The only thing to spoil our holiday was the early morning flight noise from the airport.

I'm a newbie to camping and pitched here for a weekend to test out my new tent as it's my local campsite. Fauxquet seems to have it all - swimming pool (which the kids were in at least once a day), indoor games room and outdoor play area, a farm to wander around, small shop, even free herbs.

We made use of the pizza van which came round one evening, and also of the bricks to raise our disposable bbq. The toilet block was ageing but clean, and the water was hot. It wasn't busy when we were there, although it was the very start of July so not yet prime time.

The site was on a hill but the pitches had been levelled out and were pretty flat. I couldn't really comment on the site location though - I had my car, and being local I knew my way around. It certainly isn't central, but then I assume campsites rarely are!

I could happily have stayed for longer.

As a rule this is not the kind of campsite I would like. It has a swimming pool, a shop and is quite crowded. I prefer very quite basic campsites with good views. The choice is limited on Guernsey, though, and this seemed to be the best of the three available so I booked my 3 nights in advance - you have to pay a deposit.

However - despite all of the above, I really liked it. It is a lovely place. My 9 year old daughter loved the swimming pool, so even though it didn't interest me, kids will clearly love it.

The owners were very friendly and helpful. The whole place had a really nice vibe - although this might be partly attributable to the communal watching of the Olympics which were on at the time and televised next to reception.

We stayed in the 'Outback' field which has no electricity, hoping it would be more remote and quiet. However if I was staying again I might choose one of the hookup fields, mainly because their pitches seemed to be flatter.

They have animals on site - pigs etc. Which the kids can enjoy and also there was a barbecue one night with some very tasty pork sausages.

The playground was good - in so far as my daughter liked that too - but not as much as the pool.

Toilets were fine. Clean etc.

The shops is well stocked and has various essential items and more. They also do fresh croissants in the morning on request which sounds nice, although we didn't make use of this service.

The site is in the middle of the island so no sea views unless you really crane your neck. It is in a very rural part of the island which is nice as in much of Guernsey there are houses everywhere. Being central you can get to any part of the island in less than half an hour. It is not particularly easy to find (if you refuse to use a sat nav like me) but then nowhere on Guernsey is particularly easy to find in the maze of unnumbered roads - they are named though.

I didn't visit the other two sites so I can't compare them, but all in all I would say if you are planning a camping trip to Guernsey I would highly recommend this site.

This is the first year that guernsey has allowed motorhomes on the island. The road to it is narrow so take special care, however the local drivers are friendly and patient so this was not a great problem.

We chose to leave the van on site and walk to bus stops and beaches. The nearest stop is about a 20 minute walk away and buses are every hour. The standard fare is £1. 00 where ever you go to. A taxi from St Peter Port is £10 to £12.

The people on Guernsey are so friendly and helpful to visitors, this is especially so with the campsite owners. The site is mainly touring and hire tents but the top strip from the reception/shop has been set aside for motorhome pitches. You can park your vehicle any way you like, drive in or side on. There are fresh water taps everywhere and recycling bins at the entrance.

I never queued for the toilets and showers and they were always kept clean. The shop sells most items you need and I can highly recommend the local cider. Bread can be ordered and UK papers are available. The site was silent after 11. 00pm

And because there is no light pollution the night sky was unbelievable. There is an independent restaurant on site but it is hardly ever open and when it is the food is dismal. We Walked down the lane, about 20 mins to the hamlet of King Mills were there is a fantastic value for money restaurant called the La Jardin, but it is advisable to book as it is very popular.

We also decided to hire a scooter from Millards on Victoria road St Peters Port to get around the island. Great value at just £14 per day. Cars can also be hired from a few outlets. Driving around is easy, but the road signs are small and rare, but if you do take a wrong turning you will always end up at the sea.

Diesel was 119 pence per litre.

These people really know how to plan and run a campsite.

From the basics (good shelter, good ground, level pitches, clean toilets) to the nice-to-have luxuries (swimming pool, free herb garden, morning bread deliveries, free baby equipment, family bathroom, wifi, children's playground) they have got it right.

Not what we would call cheap, but worth every penny.

Well situated for all parts of the island. Busy but not crowded, with clever separation between groups and others.

Thoroughly recommended.

This is a great site it has every thing you want and nothing you don't, the owners are good people nothing to much for them.

The toilets and showers are cleaned to a high standard and the tent pitches gives you loads of room, plenty for the kids to do swimming, playing on the park or in the games room.

All quiet at 10. 30 and every body did (sorry about my snoring ) so in all great place great island a big thumbs up from myself and my wife so back out sight seeing again can't wait, so until I come again shhhhhhh don't tell anyone about this place its so nice '

I'll be back'

Just returned from a 10 day holiday at this site

With a pennine folding camper. Although it was full

We never had to wait for a shower, the toilet and

Shower blocks were very clean. I last camped here 20 years ago and feel the site is now better. The staff were all friendly and helpful and the food in the haybarn was ok. The pitches are all of a good size although we did find it hard to tow the

Camper into the area of our pitch because the

Entrance was very narrow that said we would recommend this site

We arrived in the evening and found a note on the reception door apologising for not being there in person, welcoming us and letting us know where we could pitch (which was pretty much where we wanted).

We pitched a little way from the well considered and spotless facilities on a spacious area where we could see Vazon Bay in the distance. Later in the evening, Roland came over to us to make sure we were ok and then took my two year old nephew and my Mum over with him to feed the lambs which my nephew talked about for days later!

The site is off the beaten track a little, especially if you're without a car but there again, part of the charm of going to Guernsey is walking along the flower laden tranquil lanes to the many beautiful white sandy beaches.

Fauxquets Valley Campsite is an absolute gem and is a reflection on the hard work of Roland, Theresa and their staff.

Just returned after 2 weeks. Very pretty site with good size pitches and plenty of room.

Little things like free to use herb garden and kids play area make a real difference. Outdoor heated pool was fantastic and play field was good for a kick about.

The site was full whilst we were there so there were times when the hot water for showers ran out and the gents toilet block a little dirty. Ideally could have done with being cleaned more than once a day.

Site shop is excellent and reasonably priced.

Overall a super site and very friendly owners.

Hope to stay again soon.

Just returned from Fauxquets in Guernsey and we have been absolutely delighted with the site, the facilities, the welcome and the atmosphere. Everything was kept clean with plenty of showers, toilets, washing up units, clothes washing and ironing, tumble dryers etc. The pitches are very well spaced and allow for all sizes. The area near the centre is perfect for families with young children with the pool and play area buzzing until well after dark! That said, the quiet time from 10.30 pm to 7 am was well observed so it was very peaceful. Good shop and restaurant on the site made the whole place self sufficient. Free WiFi, laptop hire, fresh eggs from their own hens, fresh bread products ordered in every day. The highlights go on and on. No downsides at all - only a worry that it may get too popular!

Fauxquets is perfect as it is and I hope it remains so because I shall be going back!
