Visited this site at the start of the 6 weeks holiday and was amazed to find how quiet it was. Finding the site was quite easy as its well signposted although it is tucked well away from civilisation.
The site is split into 2 sections, the statics and the tourers/tents with the toilet block and dishwashing facilities located in the centre of the touring pitches.
There are two toilets and two showers in both ladies and gents but as the site started to fill up at the end of the week a further 2 toilets were opened within the block to cater for the extra people.
Showers were free to use, although there was limited space within the cubicle to get dried/dressed. There is also a laundry room which cost £3 for the washing m/c and 50p for the dryer.
The site has 2 play areas which my kids (9 and 11) were not impressed with as there was not a lot for them to do there.
The surrounding area is quite scenic and the Reekie Linn Falls further along the road are well worth a visit for a picnic and a stroll along the river but take care with children as the path is unfenced and does get quite steep.
Peel Farm has a lovely tea room/garden if you've forgotten the picnic. Dunkeld, 20 mins drive away offers great views of the river
Tay and The Hermitage in Dunkeld is also well worth visiting
Although there are no toilet facilities there. We didn't eat out much although we did have lunch at the Strathmore Golf Club about 10 mins away. The food was excellent and the portions were huge!
Our week at Nethercraig was a truly relaxing holiday and if you want to get away from it all then that's the place to visit.

Me and my husband and our friends went camping here in june 2011. Loved this site as it was very quiet owner very friendly and he took us up to where we could pitch our tent. He then came back over few hours later to ask if we were ok and if we needed anything thought that was really nice of him.
We were on a pitch right beside toilet block which was very handy. Only thing I will say about toilet block as that shower cubicles are quite small for showering and getting dressed in but all in all they are kept clean.
This is a very quiet site and there was only another 2 tents when we were camping but didn't hear anything from them tents are pitched in the grass in the middle and tourers are around the outside but was very quiet this weekend we went up.
I would recommend this site if you are after some peace and quiet and we will definitely be going back there again x

Stayed at the Nethercraig campsite last week, it was well sign posted and easy to find.
The facilities were spotless and the site is very well laid out, overall it was a nice well kept and quiet campsite. The site is a bit remote, Alyth is the nearest village and is serviced with all of the required shops.
The site shop was only open for an hour in the mornings and was very expensive
Some nice walks within the campsite compound but the river isla was very difficult to access. If you enjoy history there are a few ancient sites quite near that are worth a visit, the falls of Linn was spectacular.

This was a beautiful site, very quiet. I went on my own with my 3 kids and felt totally safe as there is an entrance gate that you each get a card for.
There is a well stocked shop with everything we needed including fresh rolls each morning which you could order the day before. The site is quite large so there is plenty to explore including a great dog walking area that leads down to a river.
The couple who manage this site couldn't be friendlier and worked incredibly hard to keep it perfect. Plenty toilets and 2 showers in the ladies. Clean, clean, clean.
We camped and there is a huge grass area for tents close to the toilet block, great if your like me and have kids needing the loo in the middle of the night.
The play area was fine but needs a little upgrading, I'm sure this is next on their list. Will be bak this year def!

A clean and tidy site, mixture of tents tourers and statics, it has a barrier gate which was a little off putting at first. The tent pitches were well drained, but the tent area was surrounded by tourers. The shower and toilet block was clean but only had two showers, they were however free, the dish washing and laundry facilities were basic but did the job although maybe too small for the amount of people on the site.
There was a small play area but we didn't find this until we were leaving. There is a small shop on site but it was only open for an hour in the morning, the site is about 10 to 15 minutes from Altyh, which has basic shops etc.
I understand that the site had recently been taken over by new owners who were in the process of developing the site, and I have to say the 2 sisters who we dealt with were extremely friendly and helpful, having family in the area we only really used the site as a base but would quiet gladly go back.

What a great site, the kids got to run free with no restrictions, our dog also had a free run. We got to please ourselves where we pitched our tent, no one bothered us even although we were noisy. A bit sad that we had to pay for water to wash our dishes, but we just washed them in the toilet sinks as the water is free. The wardens were great and never gave us any grief.

We had been using this small quiet site since 2005 and loved it. Its in a lovely area, very rural but close enough to Alyth and Blairgowrie, tent pitches were well laid out and the facilities were fantastic. Great safe kids play area. Any other time I would have given high scores for everything but booked last year for a long weekend and we were disappointed.
Site under new ownership, the fields next to site have been developed into log cabins and loads of hire and residential caravans. Tents were pitched anywhere and everywhere.
Facilities were in a right mess and now not large enough for the amount of tourers and tents crammed in, kids running riot and groups of drunk noisy adults falling about till the wee hours and trying to use the kids play areas.
Didn't see the wardens at all. It was a nightmare - maybe we were just unlucky that weekend but we won't be back.

We spent 3 nights at this lovely quiet rural site. Gordon and his team were very helpful from arrival to departure. The site is spacious and there was plenty of room between each hook up. There were beautiful woodland walks for the dogs. The toilet and shower facilities for able bodied and disabled were spotless and well equipped. There is a small shop on the site which is in the process of moving into larger premises. Rolls and papers can be pre ordered the day before. They also have a book swap / sale for charity. We could not fault this site and will be going back. We did most of our shopping in Alyth and can recommend the Dirlie Bane, the cafe on the square for eating out if you feel lazy. There is also a very good chip on the next corner and chinese and indian available close by.

My husband and I stayed on this site at the end of April for two nights. We had tried to get on to the site last year but were unable to due to it being full so we thought we would come early to make sure we got a good pitch.
As it happens the site was very quiet and we got a really good pitch with an electric hook up (essential nowadays!) Pitch 40.
The site is very green and looks to be well kept however they are having some additional work done as a Static Caravan area is in development so some possible disruption.
The actual pitch (and it looks like all the tent pitches are) was on very flat ground and had good drainage.
The site is probably the quietest site we have been on and really liked it (the only noise was the very very chirpy birds). The facilities were very clean and the showers were very good and warm. The only drawback was the 50p charge for hot water for dishes, however I have been reliably informed that this will change for 2010 season.
Overall we loved the site and would come back at some point.

Can only say agree with previous comments, very clean, very pleasant, well kept campsite. Nice wee playpark for the kids etc. My only downside and this is a personal thing was that it was a bit too quiet and remote! My own kids age 4 & 2 were fine with the playpark etc but we took my 10 year old nephew and I think he was getting a bit fed up. I also think 50p for hot water for dishes is a bit steep especially as this is not the cheapest site. Having said all that I believe the park is to be upgraded in the near future with statics etc and more in the way of facilities put on. If this is the case I would def re-visit.
