Just returned from a very peaceful weekend at this site, The warden was very helpful pointing out places of interest etc.
The site is well maintained and toilet block is clean but dated (would be nice if a bucket and mop were available to clean shower out after use)
If you are looking for a relaxing break it is ideal.
Fish and chip van on site Friday evening ( to early for us 16:30 hrs) we used the one in the village a mile from site (very nice) also nice pub.
To conclude:- Impressed and we will return.

Similar to previous reviews, water very hot nice and clean. Facilities a bit dated but clean with soap provided and plenty of loo roll. 3 showers and 4 cubicles could do with more hooks hair dryer provided free of charge. Warden really helpful and keeps and eye on the site at all times if any problems these are sorted out straight away. No shop on site would be nice for basics and newspapers. But need a bird of prey to cull the vast amount of pigeons on the site which were making a noise all the time non stop. Other than that had a great time here but not much sleep.

This is a pleasant, peaceful site. I agree the toilet block is dated but is still very clean so didn't bother us. The site is dog friendly and it's nice not to be treat like a second class citizen for having a dog with us as most sites do.
There aren't many places to visit on foot but it's only a 5 min drive into Helmsley.
We had a curry from the restaurant down the road one night, which I wouldn't advise to go to.
I will be visiting this site again.

Visited this site for our first adventure in our new tent and could not ask for more. Yes there are a lot of residential caravans but everyone is friendly and the site is spotless. Toilets are clean and loads of hot water for showers and dish wash area. The warden was friendly and helpful. The site is a good point to tour from as there are plenty of places to go some nice country pubs in the area and the Indian restaurant and the end of the road is superb, would use this site again.

Pleasant site surrounded by trees. Warden was very helpful and walked us to our pitch, which was in the middle surrounded by trees, had to use 4 x 4 to get to our pitch as ground was quite boggy.
Toilet block was clean and plenty of hot water once it got up to temperature but heating of the toilet/shower block not working very well and on the coldest Easter weekend on record it would have been very welcome.
Most of the pitches were taken up by seasonal caravans, which doesn't leave too many pitches to pick from. Good dog run which our 2 appreciated, its not often we get a dog run we can let them off to have a good run around and know they are safe.
Getting out was a bit precarious, having to navigate through the trees and then a very sharp turn and quite a drop down (which grounded our van but luckily no damage)to the road out; this really needs looking at before someone does some real damage to their van.
Reception wasn't open at all during our stay and would have liked to have had access to local information and leaflets if there were any.

Absolutely perfect. The best site we have stayed on in this area. It is secluded enough to be peaceful, but close enough to civilization.
Adults only is a plus for us, as we camp to get away from the kids.
The warden is friendly and gave us a choice of spots to stand in.
The toilet and shower facilities, although a little dated are clean, well stocked and well laid out. There are washing and drying facilities for clothes and a fish and chip van which parks on the site on a Saturday afternoon.

Beautiful adult only campsite. Unbelievably peaceful! We had a large pitch under the trees in the flat main field with hook up. Lovely big separate enclosed field where the dog could have a good run off lead. No chance of letting her off lead in the surrounding area due to farm animals and lots of wildlife (including roe deer roming free!)
Plenty of toilets and 3 female and 3 male showers with free hot water. Shower block well lit, heated and clean. Indoor area for pot washing. Washing machines and tumble dryers which I didn't use. Warden friendly and helpful - lives on site so always available.
3 pubs nearby all in separate directions about a mile away. Had a drink at them all. The pubs at Harome and Wombleton were ok but not dog friendly so had to sit outside. The Rose and Crown at Nawton is brill. A 'proper' pub which also welcomes dogs. The landlady was kind enough to show us her 'babies' in the barn at the back - calves, piglets and chickens.
Loads of footpaths all clearly marked. We walked 4 hours one day and 5 hours the second day through beautiful country side calling for a drink at a lovely pub in Nunnington and a couple of pubs in Kirbymoorside (the latter being dog friendly). Beware if you have a large dog - none of the stiles are dog friendly. We had to carry our lurcher over them much to her delight.
Had a fantastic 3 day break and can't wait to come back

The Warden here is really helpful, nice one Very quiet site. We love the escapism from the hussle and bussle as do our labradors. It always seems to be sunny and warm here, must be fluke! Our favourite place to be day or night.
The Star Inn in the village was welcoming again ( we had previously visited it on a Monday in April and we were disappointed that the Star Inn was closed, but we enjoyed a couple of hours at the Pheasant. )
The paper mache jubilee characters are fantastic.
We love the relaxed atmosphere here, a day seems like 2-3 days, how fantastic. Our Labradors agree.

We had a lovely 2 night stay here.
We booked in advance and when we arrived the warden was there to meet us at the time we said for arrival which we thought was great. We also found the lady who booked us in very informative and friendly.
There were no kids at all it is an adult only site, the site was very quiet and our tent was pitched on the flat so great. Also, as it was tree lined there was protection from the wind and we got the sun until quite late in the evening.
It was £20 per night. The facilities we thought were good especially as after reading some previous reviews we hadn’t expected much but got more than we expected and we were quite delighted really on the whole with this in mind.
There is a warden who will help you and there is a laundry room with washer tumbler iron and ironing board. There are plenty of washing up facilities inside and out and the water was very hot! The washrooms had little cubicles to lock yourself into with a sink and a mirror.
We liked this site because there were lots of different ways to which you could walk somewhere nice, although there were no kerbs and we walked most of it by road wearing a luminous top just in case.
On our first day we went to the Pheasant Hotel at Harome. Wow, we could have been a million miles away literally sitting on the terrace out the back to the hotel.
We then visited the Star Inn and sat outside at the back wow, amazing again, there was a fully sized sheep on the roof, hams hanging as if abroad and they even had a private swimming pool. How amazing this made it for us really because my wife loves to cook and follow certain chefs. She was greeted by Andrew Pern and we had earlier seen a man waiting to buy a signed copy of one of the books called Loose Birds and Game little did we know the book was by Andrew Pern and that Harome locally is widely knows as Pernshire!
The tables outside the Star Inn all had a selection of fresh flowers on them in little jars and a shell. Just a unique approach we thought. We were also given immediate fresh water for our Labradors you really have to visit this place to appreciate it we believe it dates back to the 13th century and has received many very special awards.
My wife would love to do a cookery course at Andrew’s kitchen we believe they run these maybe one day she will. We know that the Star Inn has its own herb garden but we also saw a gentleman picking herbs at the Pheasant Hotel which had its own fruit trees so we enjoyed both the Pheasant and the Star Inn.
On our second day we walked to Wombledon which we believe is approx 2 miles or over from the campsite, regardless of what the signposts say.
We reached The Plough where we received a very warm and local welcome liked the prices. From there on we took a bus into Kirbymoorside and visited the George and Dragon. Here we spoke with locals and workers who were equally as friendly and welcoming.
The bus drivers were second to none in friendliness and helpfulness and as we tried to get on the wrong bus going the other way we were kept right and looked after really and the buses were very clean and spacious.
We will definitely visit this site and all of these establishments again can’t be soon enough for us. A very relaxed and peaceful break at Foxholme which seemed much longer than just two days for us and our labradors agree!

Wife and I tried to get away for a 3 night break to try out our folding camper for the second time.
Booking late made it hard to find anywhere but managed to find a pitch at this site.
We wanted a site that was quiet and situated well for walking in the Yorks Moors area, this was ideal.
We were a bit apprehensive this being the only site with a pitch available and no pictures etc to view.
We need not of been worried as the area was just what we wanted and when we pulled into the tree lined driveway the smiles started, they got bigger when we got into the site.
This site is set in mature trees and is tucked away beautifully. It is well maintained and if you want to live with nature in peace and quite, this is the site for you.
The warden was polite, helpful and always available from his caravan just behind the reception.
There is no on site shop and site is for adults only which did not bother us.
Facilities were clean, functional and as expected.
The site is only 6amp but was adequate for our needs and never caused us any issues.
We will be going back to this lovely well situated site, can't wait!
I must say we did find some of the previous comments to be unfounded.
