Handy site for the nice town off Dalbeattie, this is under new management the guy has done a fair bit he is just waiting on the council renovation to the toilets.
Until then they are clean a bit dated but rmost sites are similar, plenty hot water and a nice quiet site, great for dogs as there is a great park beside and a play park for kids.
Plenty off good places to eat in the town and lots off great places to go about the area.

We arrived with our friends in their motor home and our camper nice friendly welcome. We chose our spot on grass but field was very soft and wet. I asked if we could change to hard standing and this was done with no problem, site is quiet and relaxing toilets and showers are nice, plenty hot water paper towels etc and you get your own key.
Laundry room with washing machine, dish washing facilities. 10 minute walk to town. Enjoyed our stay.
We are looking forwards to coming back next year.

We came for 2 days and ended up staying over. Site Manager could not be more helpful. Toilets basic but clean. Washing up facilities and laundry are first class. Dalbeattie is a lovely town and Islecroft means you are right next to the town centre but not noisy - lovely park for dog walking and Dalbeattie Town Woods a few minutes drive away. Would recommend.

Good flat draining site - very well-maintained. Torrential rain but no flooding. Very friendly welcome. Small quiet site - exactly what we were looking for. Excellent wifi connection!
Toilet block old fashioned but perfectly serviceable and very clean, with soap, paper towels, toilet paper.
Wooden picnic benches on-site.
I chose this site because of walking distance to village so that we didn't need to unhook the campervan from the drive away awning all the time.
Loved all the fluffy bunnies hopping around the site!
Will definitely be back again soon!

Just returned from Islecroft and would never return unless the toilet block was knocked down and re built.
There were live spiders running over the ceiling and dead ones that been hanging there for months. The bottom of the walls were covered in mould and the bin was not emptied in the four days that we were there, it made me cringe taking a shower as I have never seen toilets/shower block in the state that these were in.
I did mention to Billy that I didn't appreciate taking a shower with live and dead insects hanging around and next day I noticed these had been brushed away.
The pressure of the showers was not good it was hopeless for trying to get shampoo/conditioner rinsed out of your hair.
It could be a lovely a campsite, walking distance to the town, also a good base for visiting other places but the toilet block was a disgrace and that is the Council's fault as seemingly it is a council campsite.
We left immaculate toilets/showers in Moffat and when I saw these well actually it was a shock that these had not been demolitioned.

Site easy to find, good flat draining ground- just as well as had hail torrential rain and gales (storm Katy). Nice friendly welcome, site smaller than expected but fine. Toilet block old fashioned but perfectly clean, with hot water in sink taps in ladies(some sites only have hot in shower) and good flush in loos. Could do with clearer identity of bins for recycling.
Picked site because of walking distance to town and pubs, locals v friendly. Good to be able to leave the car, would probably book again and see what it's like with sun!

Just got back from a lovely weekend at islecroft. The site owners billy and sheila are very helpful and friendly. We hired a touring caravan that they have on the site. We didn't know what it was like inside, but it was immaculate, and was well equipped. It even had a porch awning with table and chairs. The site is beside a park, (handy for walking the dogs)and a play park for the kids. It was just a short walk to the shops, pubs and takeaways. The toilet & shower block is basic, but kept very clean with hot water for the shower. About 10 minutes drive to the back. Will definitely be back next year

I have been to this site about 3yrs ago. And it is the same now as it as then. The toilet block is dated. Public facilities spring to mind. It's £18 a night. Charging going rate.
So needs to update its facilities. Site is next to local school. Lots of rabbits on site. Just on edge of village. Easy for shops/pubs.
Nice walk in local park. Red Kite feeding stn close by at Lauretson. (Nr castle Douglas). Good area to get to coast. Very friendly site warden. Big bonus. Free Wi-Fi. Pitch close to site cabin for best signal. On the whole would return. Nice if toilet block was updated. Very friendly village and warden. Would return.

Just spent 8 days at this site. Warm welcome.
Site is on the small size which is perfect for us. Toilets/showers are a bit dated but are kept clean. Only one shower and two wc's but never had to wait for any and the shower was nice and hot. Good location for exploring the west coast in that part of Scotland.
Found all the people friendly and very helpful. The pubs in Dalbeatie are not too dear. Good Chinese and chippy 5 min walk from campsite.

Our second visit here visiting friends in the locallity. Basic campsite with good clean facilities, nothing fancy but good value. Excellent location next to public park just off town centre, good selection of convenience stores and shops only 5 mins walk away. Would definitely recommend this site. Good base for touring the Galloway area. Be sure to visit nearby Kippford.
