 I first visited Islecroft Caravan park as a young child back in 1985, ever since then I've visited every year. It's situated in an amazing little village that offers all you need for a weekend away and also a long stay, plenty of pubs,local grocery shops, take aways and also restaurants.
The site it's self is situated next to a Sunday league football teams enclosed ground (namely Dalbeattie Star). There are 30 pitches some hard stands and some grass, all have electric hook up points. Toilet and showers are immaculate and cleaned regularly! The site wardens are excellent, friendly and will do any thing to help you!! the local people are friendly as well!
For the kids there is a big park only 40seconds walk away from the site which consists of climbing frames, swings, see saw, boating lake, mini golf, tennis courts, football field and there's also a nice stream runs through the park.
Just a short journey away there are a number of beaches and coastal villages to visit. There is also a wildlife sanctuary in a nearby town called kirkcudbright which is really worth a visit!
All in all it is a fantastic place to stay with all been made welcome including pets, either if your wanting somewhere to relax or if your looking for things to do,then you certainly won't go wrong by pay Islecroft Caravan Park a visit!!!!!
