We have recently returned from a 4 night mid week stay at this park. The site is excellent value (£90 for a week with a hook up)It is set in the stunning scenery of the Purbeck hills with views in all directions but sadly not from the tent pitches with hook ups.
In truth the toilet and shower block could do with an upgrade but I have to say to the compliment of the staff it is very well presented and immaculately clean.
The site is predominantly made up of static caravans and the tent pich we were on was slightly sloping and the ground was quite stony so getting pegs in took a little more time.
The site was perfect for us as a base for walking with our dog and nice and peaceful. Just note that it is at the top of a steep hill though
We walked to Corfe casle and had a fantastic cream tea at the National Trust Cafe and also over to Studland and around Durston Point. Swanage has a lot to offer with a lovely sandy beach in a sheltered bay and busy little town
We shall certainly be returning

Friendly helpful warden, Tent pitch only slightly sloping. Pitched on the lower camping area near the toilet block. The toilets were very clean and well stocked with paper towels & loo roll.
The male & female toilet block were basic but more than acceptable, with lots of toilet cubicles including a disabled one & several shower cubicles.
Shower cubicles were also clean, roomy with hooks on the doors and very hot unlimited water. There was the occasional beastie in the shower but nothing major.
The ladies toilet block also had a few plug sockets to use hairdyers. The toilet, shower and washing up facilities were included in the pitch price. Drinking water taps and bins/recycling are at various points.
The site location was well signposted, with lovely views over the hills and, from the higher tent pitches and caravans, out to sea.
It was only a 10-15 min walk into town (a bit steep on the way back) and there is a lovely country walk from the back of the campsite which joins the coastal path route back to Swanage.

My wife and I are trying to emulate the BBC Coast programme by driving round the UK coastline.
We arrived at this site without booking and were immediately made to feel very welcome by the humorous banter of the warden and his assistant! They were very supportive of our venture and gave us maps and directions to local shops, pubs etc.
There are only a few touring pitches, but we were given a slightly sloping one very close to the touring toilet/shower facilities, which were basic but clean.
Top marks for value - we were charged 'mid-week, off peak'!

This site caters more for statics, it is our second visit to this site. The touring pitches have been moved from the hardstandng at the back of the wash facilities to the grass at the side of the children's play area, everybody has to walk past to get to town.
Check in was very friendly, pitches were small, when we arrived on the friday the playground was full of kids from the nearby housing estate.
Toilets and showers are in need of restoration as holes in roof, also notices on walls saying that cold water runs hot for a few minutes!
Swanage is about a 15/20 minute walk downhill, a lovely town, plenty of pubs and cafes.
We were woken about 2.00am on the Sunday morning with people coming back from a night out.
We would definitely go back to Swanage again, but probably not to this site

We went to this campsite for a short break over the bank holiday weekend.
The campsite was easy to find (brown signposted) and we were given a very warm welcome on arrival and told we could camp up the top. This seemed like a wonderful idea until we realised that the only loos, showers and drinking water were back down a very steep hill!
The area we were shown to was obviously in the middle of a footpath as we spent the weekend saying 'hullo' to dog walkers. That said the views of Swanage were wonderful (and had it not been blowing a gale and pouring with rain I'm sure we would have appreciated them even more!).
The walk into Swanage took 20 mins and more on the way back because it was uphill all the way. Swanage is a beautiful little town, with a lovely beach and a very good range of shops and restaurants. We went on the Swanage Steam Train to Corfe Castle and enjoying wandering round that lovely little village and exploring the castle (not to mention catching a very good Viking / Saxon re-enactment of the siege of the castle).
The campsite itself was reasonable, there seemed to be bits of rubble all over the place and it gave some sections of it a rather messy look. We had problems with noisy neighbours on the 2nd and 3rd nights and in the end called the warden who was extremely helpful and told them to pipe down, which they did.
There was a good children's playground but that too was back down the hill, so we didn't make that much use of it. The loos and showers were basic and reasonably clean, but they were in a very cold shack that totally put us off having any showers. The hot water for washing up was intermittent and at least one wash was done in cold water and another in lukewarm water.
This site was ok, I have to say we probably won't be going there again though.

Visited Swanage as a child, my parents owned a static caravan on the site for 30 years. They sold it 16 years ago sadly. After I got married and had kids I wanted to take them there as I had such great holidays there. Things haven't changed much! The views are stunning from the top field, the staff are very helpful and friendly. However things that should have changed and haven't the shower and toilet block are just as I remember them, maybe a bit cleaner but could use an upgrade. Very few pitches with hook up if you need that. Oh and the other thing no shop, bar, pool in fact it's just a place to camp (which we love) so it's quiet. However you can use the pool, bar etc at the site next door.
Over all though a great place for a family holiday as it's quiet and peaceful with such great views and right on the coastal path :-)

We came for carnival week 2009 and stay in the Coastal park. Its on top of a steep hill but the views are fantastic- especially for the fireworks!
The website states portaloos but they are 'proper' flushing loos which are kept very clean.
The walk down to Swanage takes about 25 mins.
We had a big problem with noisy youths in which the whole field was up in arms with. There was a queue waiting for the warden in the morning!
Apart from that night the site was perfect for us.

We visited here for a three night mid week stay. We opted to pitch our tent on the peninsular and we could see all the way to the Isle of Wight, the views were truly spectacular and definitely worth a ten minute walk to the toilet and shower block! Very peaceful. Good level ground and no problem pitching the tent. Good recycling facilities and hot washing up facilities. Lots of showers and plenty of hot water, although there were some creepy crawlies in the shower trays but they were soon sent on their way with a blast from the showerhead!
Good base to explore from as close walking distance to the beach, Steam Railway (excellent day out at Corfe Castle and the surrounding town), shops etc.
Very highly recommended and I would definitely return. I think we paid about £8 per night to pitch our tent and all facilities were free that we used e.G. Shower, washing up etc.

We arrived at the site and were met with a friendly face who directed us to the upper field camping area. You can pitch anywhere you like, amazing views, just like the one in the picture. The field is a slopping field so you need to find an area that suits. At the bottom of the field there is a portacabin toilet block which is split between men and women. The mens side(didn't go in the ladies side) has a number of sinks and toilets. It was reasonably clean. The main block which had the showers in it was near the entrance to the campsite and as it was a steep climb we tended to drive to it! It was in need of updating but reasonably clean. Also opposite was a small children's play area which the kids enjoyed.
The seafront is a reasonable distance to walk and slightly steep although you can drive and there are some free spaces although probably quicker to walk!
The camp site is very quiet with lots of families and we enjoyed our trip. We would go again but would prefer a site with more modern and nearer shower block, but we new what to expect and it turned out nicer than expected.

Just returned from a 2 week stay on this site.
We were on the touring field with electric there are 7 pitches on this section but be careful some are small considering you can put an awning up, we were on no 7 the biggest and best pitch.
Toilets and showers are clean and plenty of water.
The staff on this site are very friendly and always willing to help as are most people in swanage.
There is a playground at the bottom of the site for the kids. The site is on a hill but all electric pitches for touring are hard standing and level.
Swanage is a 10-20 min walk a small but nice town with shops, pubs and restaurants and a few boat trips.
If you can find out when the carnival is on its worth seeing with street entertainment, fair, fireworks and the red arrows display team.
If you go to this site please follow the signs as you get into swanage and not your sat nav like I did the streets are very narrow, ok in a car but a bit tight with a caravan.
