August 2003 With the option for more rugged camping at the top of the field, I took the novice route and pitched near to the facilitites and little shop. My children adored being able to go and get the bits and pieces, with fresh bread and croissants delivered every morning. Take a very big mallet as it is on what seems like solid portland stone. It's pot luck for a pitch but seemed to be enough space in secluded areas if you didn't want a big field away from the facilities. Hot showers, no queues and very helpful and friendly staff. Would go again.

August 2000,2001,2002 this little known site is positioned in a very unlikely spot, in a residential area of swanage only a 10 minute walk to the main town and beach.
It is a small site which only has 10 or so tourer pitches and several static's for hire.
This site has a beautiful secret....at the top of the hill in the overflow field one is treated to the most breathtaking views of the bay and the hills beyond. Camping up here you really do feel on the top of the world looking down. In the distance you can see the steam from the old engines running back and fro to corfe along with little boats out at sea and the odd jet-skier.
No facilities in this field...3 portaloos i think and a short walk down hill 9and back again0 to the main block, but its a vast field fitting 200 or more tents in with lots of space between. there are no marked pitches and you are free to set up camp wherever you choose. does get noisey at night sometimes as the campfires are lit and the beers are cracked open. we meet a large group of friends up there every august bak holiday and just chill and catch up with eachother whilst watching the flickering lights of Bournmouth in the distance.
The facillites are adequent, i say adequet because whilst the buildings are brick built and not portaloos..they do need a bit of attention in places. Clean enough but a little bit scruffy....the showers and loos are in a block with the odd spider in the corner. the shower blocks have a laundry attached with a power point for you to plug your mobile into or hairdryer along with a dishwashing area.
There is a shop and a small play park for children.
