We stopped here for 3 nights nice site, the park was lovely for the kids. Toilet block and showers could be updated although they were quite clean. The owner was friendly upon arrival but did not see him again throughout our stay. Thought the price was a little expensive as we did not have any electric.
Porthcawl beaches not far to drive to in the car and will say you must visit beales fish & chip shop for the best fish & chips in wales and england very fresh.

Stayed at Dan y Graig for one night which was a Friday night. This was the second time I have stayed here. The couple that own the site are lovely and offer a great welcome. They will explain where everything is when you get there but basically there are two fields. The camping area is the largest and also facilitates trailer tents and touring caravans.
This field is very flat, and as the weather was dryish during my stay the ground was firm with no mud. However as the field is used so much, I can see how it could get muddy during prolonged rain. There was a short shower during the night but when I awoke the ground was pretty dry with no mud.
There is a playground in the middle of the touring field. The standard of the equipment is excellent and the kids seemed to be having great fun. They do tend to play until around midnight though, so if you want an early night camp further up the field.
There are toilets situated at the corner of the touring field which are of a good standard, and showers and wash facilities are in the middle of the static field. They are not as far as other reviews here state. Its only about a 2 - 3 minute walk from the touring area, as the whole site is quite compact. The showers are very good and nice and warm.
The only slight negative I can give them is that there are only two sinks for having a wash in the mens and there is no shelf anywhere to put wash bag, towel, hair gel etc etc. These sinks also have to be used to toilet goers. However this is only a slight moan and will not stop me visiting the site many many more times in the future.
As for the location, its 5 minutes from the M4 junction and about 7 minutes from Porthcawl and Rest Bay. Very very eary to find as it is signposted 'camping' from the road near the petrol station. The petrol station has a large shop with all the essentials you could need.
Overall very good.

I have visited this site 4 times already this year, we have 2 children aged 1 and 12 and they both enjoy their stay (my husband and I also). There are two separate fields, one is for the statics and the other for trailers tents and motorhomes.
The toilets are spotless and there are showers which are situated by the statics which are also really clean. There is a lovely welcome from the farmer and his wife on arrival and so far we have had the same pitch so we have made friends to.
Everyone on this site is so friendly and I recommend this site highly. The fields are flat and the grass is alwys cut short, plenty of play area for the children to play and there is also a park for the children to have fun. Will be making a few more trips here in the future

Visited site as so few in porthcawl. On arrival was worried to see touring field was swamped with mud. No track for cars to drive down and cars coming out sliding everywhere.
Found owner at reception and he came and showed me and our mates to a vacant plot. Mud mud mud. We set up and made best of it. Arrived late so didn't pay straight away.
Showers way up in middle of static caravans. So fun to walk to with all your bits and bobs. Plus if more than one person using them them. You get a trickle. O joy.
No where to empty your waste water. Owner says tip in hedge good for ground. Site has terrible drainage, as it is without adding to it.
Only plus had nice park that weather permitting would have been nice for kids and is only ten mins from porthcawl fair.

Visited this site with my 6 yr old daughter, who loved the playground and seeing the geese and chickens. Found the site to be ideal for a weekend break and happy with the amenities as they were clean, had lights and free hot water. The site was fine and allowed to choose our own pitch. Useful location for visiting Porthcawl. Would definitely recommend for a weekend break if camping. As mentioned before, the Esso station is useful for last minute supplies if you forgot to pick them up from the Somerfield store in Porthcawl.

I stayed with a group of friends for 1 night and we all agreed that the campsite was lovely.
When we arrived we were given a nice welcome by the farmer, he told us the ground rules (we were a single sex party) which were more than fair, they included no disorderly behaviour, no loud music, and no disposable BBQs placed directly on the grass (the farmer provided us with slabs to place them on).
The site had a lovely children's play area and was very clean, no litter anywhere to be seen and the toilets were extremely clean and always had a full stock of toilet paper.
Other people on the site were friendly and the local garage provided anything you may need during your stay.
We would definitely use this site again.

Used as a base for visiting family. Stayed a long weekend. Easy access from M4 Junc 37. Follow signs for Porthcawl to large newish filling station/shop at traffic island, take a right then Heol Drewi is immediate right.
Two fields, upper one has mobile homes vans only and lower has tourers, of the 50 tourer pitches 36 taken with seasonally parked vans so the few proper touring pitches left get very used. All pitches are grass. Our pitch was very muddy and rain made grass churned by cars into mudslides. There is road noise from the A road that is main approach to Porthcawl & Bridgend from the west.
Watertaps on lower field but no greywaste drains. Toilet block at entrance to lower field but showers in block in middle of upper field. Showers warm and good pressure, small cubicles but gap between screens and floor meant water all over changing area which was also very cramped with no seating. No heat in shower blocks. During our visit drains were blocked, apparently a regular event, and could not empty toilet cassette in designated space had to use a loo. Seasonal van next to us had used their own hookup point and ours and were not happy at having to unplug from ours.
We have no children so playground didn't matter. Porthcawl is an awful place to find parking for a short visit even on a wet Sunday. Site owners were polite and friendly but tourers are just pocket money income so they aren't too fussed about it and the site.

After reading some of the reviews on this site we were a bit reluctant 2 try but thought lets find out for ourselves, we found it very easy to find just off the junction 37. On arrival the owner was very helpful and polite he showed us where to pitch and was helpful with directions to amenities and local pubs and shops, the owner left us to it to enjoy I've been on some campsites where the farmer is constantly checking up an not trusting. The site was nice and flat with hook ups, we found the park useful and we didn't find any problems with toilets or showers they were clean and well maintained. We were very happy and we are going again this weekend.

Stayed a night here only because Cardiff and surrounding areas were fully booked due to long weekend and a Madonna and REM concert. Cost was 18 pounds, one of the cheaper sites on our travels.
Difficult to find from the road as no specific signs with the name, just a small standard campsite road sign right at the exit, so be aware when looking for it.
People around seemed friendly enough, apparently its the closest site to the beach or Porthcawl or something like that, so many permanent residents.
Site appeared good for kids with a big playground in the middle, however as previously stated the toilets are at the top end of the site and the showers are further than that. The toilets rarely had any paper and the lights were out/not working in the shower when I proceeded to take one, however the temperature and pressure was good. There had been recent rain in the area and as the site is all grass the cars had left huge muddied tracks within the site - need to invest in something better.
Stayed on a Sunday night intending to eat nearby. The golf club next door doesn't do Sunday dinner, and catching a cab to town was a waste as well unless you like Indian, which a few in our group didn't, so it was takeaways for us.
There was a decent sized petrol station across the road for food and drink.
Would only recommend staying here if you want to be near a specific place, otherwise I am sure you can find better

We were a bit wary after reading the reviews but were so pleased we are going back for the third time this summer. We stayed in June , then july after the schools broke up, going again next week. Perfect for a three year old and five year old. Plenty of room to ride their bikes. Ice cream man comes round about 7pm most evenings I think.
The whole site is clean, neat and tidy, showers and toilets, utility etc fairly basic but clean and spacious, we don't need fancy this and that as long as it works. Showers and hot water free.
Large flat field with caravans around the sides, always well cut, plenty of room for the grandchildren to play. Good size playground with plenty of activities more suitable for over 4-5 year olds. Although lots of children each time we went they were no problem and were really friendly.
Lots of static vans as well. A very family friendly site, everyone we spoke to or who spoke to us were lovely,
Only slight comment was the lane down one side of the site, which is narrow hence drivers use their horn to warn other cars. Not very noticeable but then we had got children with us. It didn't disturb them at bedtime at all.
Overall clean, quiet, well organised and friendly. Nearest shop a short walk away at the Esso petrol station with lots of provisions. Need a car to get to the beach. Very close to the motorway exit which made it ideal for us , takes two hours from Worcestershire, very easy journey. Would recommend it. No dogs running free just ducks and chickens.
Porthcawl has a funfair with wide sandy beach, very child friendly, also Rest Bay nearby with sand and rockpools (beach shop and toilets set back from the beach across the lane and up hill, bit of a drag with little children). Town beach very rocky at high tide, then later becomes really interesting for children, rock pools, streams. We find everyone so friendly ad helpful. Porthcawl has a good range of shops, most of the take-aways seem to be on the side of town near the park and toilets.
We have been coming for over 30 years and still feel the children and now grandchildren can have a real old fashioned sort of holiday.
