Stayed in a friends static - very 'clicky' site.
Toilet block in amongst the statics - not in the touring field which is a bit weird, as everyone from the field had to walk up through all the statics.
One good point was that it was good for children - lovely play area in middle of touring field & ice cream van visits on evening at weekend.
Quit a lot of noise from the regulars - with get together's etc - but to be fair - the noise stops early.
Owner/manager wasn't too chirpy either - we only wanted the gas bottle changed & he would have got the profit from this - but he huffed & puffed & made me wish I hadn't bothered to ask.
Wouldn't stay in this site out of choice.

Brilliant site, were a bit wary after reading reviews on here but was vas pleased on arrival. Toilets were clean and toilet roll supplied. Washing up area was also great. Playground for the kids is very good. Overall great experience on our first camping trip. Indian restaurant and garage 200 yards up the road and three horseshoes pub about 10 minute walk. We paid £25 for three tents for the night.

We went over the May Spring Bank Holiday,Friday - Monday. A friend booked the site, and having read the previous review I was prepared for the worst. The site itself is just off the M4 Junc 37 and very easy to find, directions are on a previous review. The camping field is flat which is great if you have a large tent as we do. As we arrived all positions around the perimeter were taken so we were told to pitch in the centre of the field next to the fenced play area, which the kids absolutely loved. After reading the previous review, one of the first things I did was to check the toilets and to my relief they were fine & the campsite was quiet. So far so good. Later that evening it became apparent many of the tourers on the park were there permanently, for example kids returning in their school uniforms. And soon the play area was awash with teenagers hanging around, kicking balls around and riding bikes in there despite signs to the contrary. The teenagers basically stopped there until dark and a little beyond and although a little noisy at times were not a major problem other than to make the park a no-go area for my kids who are much younger. By the end of the day a visit to the toilet block was not overly pleasant, they are clearly cleaned once a day in the morning when at least two visits per day are required. The campsite was not too noisy at night bar a few teenagers roaming around, but in the same breathe it wasn't quiet either. The surrounding area has a number of beaches to chose from Sandy Bay would be lovely if someone hadn't stuck a tacky fairground on it, and Trecco Bay around the corner would also be lovely if someone hadn't built the largest mobile home park I've ever seen on it. Swansea and Cardiff are short drives away to kill of any rainy days. To summarise, in my experience its not as great as a few of the early posts would lead you to believe but not as bad as the previous either - though having said that I won't be going back.

We stayed here for two days in April. The site itself is flat with all tourers and tents all pitched around the outside of the field. Which leaves a large grassy area in the middle which is ideal for children to play quite safely, There is also a play area which has swings, slide etc. There is no shop on site, but just down the lane there is a well stocked Esso garage. The seaside town of Porthcawl is just a few miles away, which you would need the car to get to. Now for the bad points: The toilets and showers are situated away from the tourers field and near the statics, so it is quite a walk, especially when its dark. They were really filthy, and weren't cleaned once when we were there. Some of the pitches were on bare dirt, hardly any grass, which made our awning and groundsheet really dirty and dusty. There were a lot of seasonal tourers there, one or two were quite friendly, but most of them kept themselves to themselves. It cost us fifteen pounds per night and you need tokens for the showers, which you get from reception. All in all, we wouldn,t stay there again, as it was the worst site we have stayed on.

We stayed for 3 nights and I have to say that I am very disappointed with this caravan site after reading all the good remarks people have written about it. First for the good points, The site is almost level, There is a very good children's play area in the middle of the site, Dog's are welcome, There is a good esso garage near bye that is well stocked. There are plenty of electric hook ups and water taps on this site, To be honest that is all good bit's that I can think of. Now for the bad points. The toilets were absolutely disgusting which is a shame as they look newly built, we stayed for 3 nights and they were not cleaned once the hole time, There was no toilet paper in the toilets the hole time of our stay, The showers are dirty and were also not cleaned for the duration of our stay, The dish washing facilities were extremely dirty, there was tea bags everywhere and you was sticking to the floor plus there was no hot watter whatsoever. Most of the caravans here are pitched seasonally and the people that own them are not very friendly to others just coming for a short time. The site is not monitored at all and for 2 nights we had party's going on till 2am. I have been to other sites that costs less and are much more pleasurable to stay at. Would I ever go back to this site ? the answer is NO. price for caravan 2 people and 1 dog £15 per night.

Pleasant campsite with easy access. Approx 1.5 miles from Junction 37 M4. 2 miles from Porthcawl seaside and resort. The site is split into 2 main areas. Static Caravans and a camping field. Plenty of electric hook-ups around the perimeter of the Tourer/camping field. There is no on-site shop but as the other reviewer says, there is a well stocked Esso garage just a few minutes walk away. There is a public phone and laundry facilities (washers and dryers). The Toilets are very clean and look newly built and also incorporate a chemical waste disposal area. The field is almost flat/level and has a small adventure playground in the middle, ideal for little ones! The showers are basic but clean and the water nice and hot. Cost for Touring Caravan, Awning, 2 adults, 2 kids: £15.00 per night.

All the people there are very friendly and helpful, at least 3 different people offered to help us put the tent up within around 5-10 minutes. All facilities were immaculate, new shower and toilet block has just been opened nearer the tent and tourer caravan area. There is also a lovely play area for children which my son really enjoyed playing in.

April 2003 This was our first camping trip for many years and we were only trying out our new tent for one night with the bare essentials. We had our two dogs with us in our small tent and weren't sure how welcome they would be.... This is a small site with one nice flat field for tents and tourers and another flat area of about the same size for static caravans. Firstly OUR DOGS WERE VERY WELCOME as long as they were under control.... we'd already tried Happy Valley at Wig Fach, but didn't allow dogs in tents. At this time of year -April lots of space, but would obviously be different in peak season. One SMALL shower/WC block. 50p showers. Basic but very clean. Fenced play area in middle of camping field for those with small kids. Cost for one tent with two people for one night £9.00, pay at the farmhouse. There is no shop on-site, but the Esso Garage is only a few hundred yrds away and they sell all the basics. Directions from M4 jct37: Take A4229 towards Porthcawl. Immediately after 2nd roundabout turn right. Entrance is 200 yds on right.
