We stayed for 5 nights over the whitsun bank holiday. The positives: This is a lovely quiet, friendly site tucked away in beautiful scenery. The warden is very friendly and there is plenty of space available with mainly flat pitches.
The toilet and shower facilities were always very clean but unfortunately this does lead me on to the one big negative: There is only one ladies toilet and shower and one mens toilet and shower.
There were 3 portaloos but unfortunately these do not have sinks so you have to go back to the main wash block to wash your hands. This also means there is only one sink for each sex so the morning and evening queues to wash were a bit long.
This would be ok if the number of units was kept low but while we were there, there were 12 caravans and 24 tents! However this may have been because it was a bank holiday.
Overall though we had a lovely stay and there is plenty to do in the area, I would particularly recommend carding mill vally as it is simply stunning.

Well what a nice site! we arrived and were greeted by the Lady of the house and given a choice of pitch, the site is clean and well cared for the toilet block is clean and more than adequate.
We initially booked for three days over the bank holiday, however I was called into work on the Monday so could only stay for two, which was not a problem.
This is a very quiet site and it is well worth a visit, while we were there, the Yester year caravan club had a small group of it's members present, the caravans from the early years were brilliant.
Dogs are welcome and walking them down the lane or across the fields is a joy, the fresh air, piece and tranquil surroundings are a must for those wishing for this.Fishing is close by and I am told is very good.
Wild life is brilliant, I was greeted by a female barn owl sat on the fence one evening while walking the dog, what a wonderful sight.
Value for money? spot on, we will go again soon without a doubt. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

One of the friendliest sites we have ever stayed on.Fairly well sign posted as you approach the Ludlow road.Site is well tucked away down a small lane.Take care as you approach, particularly if you are towing as it is a single track lane.Plenty of room once on-site with lots of thought put into who will pitch where depending on whether you have a family or not. Caravan field well spaced with hook-ups and the camping field is nice and level. No play area for the little ones, though, as there is so much room, its not really needed.Toilets and showers very clean if a little basic.Site charge per night is very cheap though you need change for the showers. However, they stay on for long enough for 2 people to shower. Electrical hookups cost £2 per night,so its still pretty cheap for such a nice location.Lots of free piping hot water at the washing up sink and this is all well-lit at night. Lovely pub not far away!local ales served.Situated approx 20min walk away across fields, a little further if you stick to the roads. Other than that, its quite a way to any other shops etc.Lovely little villages to walk round within easy reach. Perfect for a little peace and relaxation.

This was our first visit to Sparchford during late may bank hol. I only booked up ten days or so in advance. We paid £10 (no EHU) and stayed on a large fairly level field next to the main field which had hardstandings. It was quite busy - around 30 units but there was a good distance between pitches and no noise after around half nine / ten. Some posters have said it was basic but the toilet and shower were in good condition and always clean. Even had quality toilet paper (Charmin!) which never ran out. Shower was £1 but plenty of time to wash me and toddler. Wash up always clean and plenty hot water. Plenty of bins and a recycle area for glass, tins and paper. Wardens very friendly and were available throughout the day. The lane was a one track but plenty of room if you pulled in and slowed down. Very picturesque with geese, sheep and cows within view! Pub in the nearest village but didn't visit. Ideal for walkers. The only thing I can criticise is there was only one sink for washing in the morning, teeth brushing and washing hands after the toilet. There was a queue for the sink one morning we were there

We camped here and found the site very good on the whole. Field was quite level and fairly large, so not too close to other campers. Toilets/showers were quite basic, but clean and fine. No play area, but kids were quite happy exploring the copse or playing football away from tents. Ludlow 10mins. Plenty to do in surrounding area, walks, pubs etc.Would come again.

This is quite a small site, accessed via some fairly narrow winding lanes, but even with a twin axle van, we arrived without any problem.
The size of the pitches vary, so if you need a large pitch, tell the wardens when you book. Also a good idea to take heavy duty pegs for the awning as the hardstanding is rock hard in places.
The loo and shower block looked ok, although we didn't need to use it. Only one water point, so an aquaroll is definitely useful.
The wardens were very helpful and friendly and made sure that we settled in without any problem.
There is a Spar about 10 mins drive away and plenty of local produce available in Ludlow and the surrounding area.
The only slight downside was that there didn't appear to be any facilities for children, so they tended to play near the vans, and we did have to keep an eye on where the footballs landed!
Would be happy to return to this site.

The campsite, on a working farm, is a level site with 1 small permanent camping ground set out with hardstandings and electric hook ups with the use of several other fields if needed. The owners now have Wardens on site.
The small toilet block has separate male/female sections each with 1 WC and 1 shower plus wash hand basin. The shower is £1 coin operated. The facilities are basic but clean.
This year(2008)the pitch fee is £10 per unit for tent, motorhome or caravan. EHU is £2. I think this is top dollar considering you pay extra for showers but for a larger unit it may be good value. I would not like to be on the site if it is busy with only one WC & shower.
It is a basic site with basic facilities. The area is great for walking and the Discovery Centre in Craven Arms (about 4 miles away) is a great source of information, books, guides, tea cakes, local walks and even geocaches.
Craven Arms has 2-3 Pubs, a well stocked Spar Shop, Fish & Chip shop, Chinese & Indian Takeaways. A supermarket local to the area is Harry Tuffins which is always worth a visit.

It was May Bank Holiday when we visited this site. We had only booked it approximately 10 days before the visit. The approach roads are narrow for the last 1/2 mile, but I got a large twin axle van around them with no problems. The Managers of the site were friendly and helpful.
We mainly used the facilities in our own van but the toilet block was clean when we visited it. TV signal was fine with a directional aerial but no signal with a Status standard aerial.
Ludlow was its usual interesting self. We ate at the Unicorn pub in Ludlow and I was disappointed with the food.
Had a very interesting time at the rare breeds poultry farm on the way to Craven Arms, however you do need to be interested in chickens or by the time you have seen 20, you have seen them all and there will still be nearly 100 to go.
I would go back to this site

My family (husband, 3 children under six and our Lab puppy) and I, have just returned from Sparchford Farm this morning. This was our first ever camping trip, so it was a real test not only of our tent and equipment but also to see if camping could be enjoyable with younger children and a dog. I am extremely pleased to say that we had a great time. The campsite was well sign posted and easy to find - good start! The field was flat, and grass cut and in good order. Whilst there is no park at this camp, the children loved being able to see both the cows and bull in the adjacent field and loved having Lambs in the small enclosure at the top of the field. They made they're own entertainment and this is what I believe camping is all about. I am extremely fussy about hygiene especially where toilets and children are concerned and the sight of portaloos horrified me when we arrived, however, I am pleased to say that they were the cleanest toilets I have ever used, endless supply of toilet paper and the lights were all working. These toilets are of course an addition to the shower and toilet block which is situated just across the road. Again, extremely clean, and kept in stock of toilet roll and hand soap. The shower at a pound a go was excellent. It was hot, powerful and gave more than enough time to shower an adult and a couple of children. Also, which I thought was a great idea of the owner was to display leaflets of local places of interest on the table in the block this was very helpful with planning days out. I thought that the area to wash plates and pans was also good. Although situated outside, its under a shelter so you don't get wet, and there is a light for at night and again its clean and well kept. I can say for definite that we will visit this campsite again in the future and would recommend it without a doubt. I have to say that as a first time camper, reading reviews of this site from other users I was slightly concerned as what to expect, but sometimes I think that people expect too much, and at £8 per night compared to the prices of some camps I think that it's well worth the money!

My husband and I just had two lovely days staying at Sparchford Farm. Although we were the only occupied caravan on the site, we found the site very comfortable and peaceful. It is an ideal site to use to explore the area or visit the races like we did! We didn't actually have to use the facilities as we were self sufficient, but although limited, the shower and toilet were very clean. Would stay here again!
