Fantastic Site and pitches superb. Own water, electricity and TV ariel. (cable available for deposit at site shop). Two toilet blocks in the tent/ touring end. Bottom one, clean, toilets, showers and washing up sink x2 outside it. 2nd toilet block further in to the touring area much newer and had toilet and shower in one cubicles along with washing up sink located outside.
Fantastic site with swimming pool, kids entertainment, swing parks, beach, bar, small take away service, arcade machines (teen hang out type area) and reasonable sized soft play- much improved from the version that used to be a cupboard lol! 3nights for price of 2 at 22 pounds a night so 44 pounds for 5 man tent, 2 adults, 2 kids including all electricity and tv. They charge a flat rate with no extras for children etc. Fantastic value and lots to do in the area, cream o galloway to name but one.
Tesco at castle douglas, shops nearer at gatehouse of fleet. Would return any time. Have previously stayed here on a static (before my parents sold it!) and it was and still is fab. Caters for children very well, with staff being friendly and kind, especially the gentleman in the bar. We spent a bit of time there watching the Olympics and felt very welcome. Due to the value for money aspect and such a great time meeting great staff and campers 10 out of 10 for me.

What a pity about the weather here at Auchinlarie, - however - undaunted - we went on to have a really good time here - as we were catering for our 3 year old Grandson, and he thought everything was great. Play areas (3) swimming pool, soft play area, and much to do outside of the caravan site. Our caravan was first rate, very clean and comfortable.
The beach was lovely, and it would have been just great had the weather been better. Would we go back? Maybe- Lots of really nice staff here, really trying their best to make it a good holiday for all of their clients.

I stayed on this site for 4 nights and this was my first visit. I will definitely be returning for another stay.
There were 2 toilet blocks in the touring field and cleaners visited twice a day. There is a hairdryer available for 20p and this lasted more than long enough to do your hair.
OUr pitch had all the necessary hook up, water and arial if required.
The on site shop was reasonably priced and stocked.
We visited the on site restaurant and had a lovely reasonably prices meal.
When we arrived we were surprised to be given £10. 00 vouchers (one for every nights stay)to be used in any of the local bars.
It is an excellent site to stay with dogs (we will the next time) a large dog walking area adjacent to the touring pitch and a veranda at the bar where you can take your pooch.

We visited here for a weekend with a caravan and a tent, 4 adults and 2 kiddies aged 2 and half and 1 year old.
Not a terrible weekend away but there were a few negatives I'd like to point out.
When we arrived we were put on the overflow field as we wanted to put the tent next to the caravan which was fine apart from the A75 runs right next to the field and can be very noisy. We weren't to bad though once we were asleep in our caravan the noise didn't wake us or the kids up.
The toilets were clean and I never had to wait for the loo or a shower but the baby changing/disabled toilet is a joke, the lights are on sensor and unless your doing the highland fling while trying to pee they do go off every 10 seconds
The showers are a ridiculous invention that spray out in a triangle so you have to stand as far away as possible to get a decent wash.
There was nowhere to wash the babies, we attempted to wash them in the sink in the toilets but the hot tap was ridiculously scalding and gushed out so fast when you pressed it that you got covered, so we resorted to bathing them in the washing up sink, which brings me to my next point - there was no hot water when I went to wash our dishes even though next door in the bathrooms the water was scalding hot.
There were good points as well though, the beach is lovely. A nice, quiet little cove which was perfect for our little ones. It is a tiny bit steep but we managed with our babies so other people shouldn't have a problem.
There is a nice play area outdoors and there is a soft play area indoors which the kids loved.
There is a restaurant and takeway which I believe is very good. The drinks prices were very reasonable we thought and there were offers on drinks as well.
The shop on site sold all the necessities. The entertainment was ok the kids enjoyed dancing and running around unfortunately we had to take the kids out at 9 o'clock due to bingo being on and them being rather noisy but that's where the indoor soft play area came in very useful and the arcade and kids disco next door.
There are millions of rabbits on the site as well which was nice and my little one's loved them even if the rabbits were less than impressed.
The electric hook up was fab it had electric, water and a tv ariel point on the power pole which couldn't have been any closer to us.
The nearest town/village is Newton Stewart which has a Sainsburys and is about 15 miles away.
All in all we had a nice weekend away and we may return when our children are older if only for the lovely little beach.

We have just got back after 4 days here and I cannot Say anything bad about it.
The camp site was very clean we had our own pitch with our own running water, electric and tv input, the pitch was very big as we hav a 6 berth tent but you get a bigger tent in the same place. The tolets and showers was cleaned every day by cleaning crew.
There is a sports bar where you can sit inside with our dogs or we could sit outside plus they had water down for the dogs. There is a take away on site that is good for the money. Plus other restaurants and bars.
There is a track that leads down to a small beach that has a load of rocks but you can walk around them to get to the sea. The Staff are helpful and polite all the time.
There are loads of fields for the kids to play on plus 4 play areas. There is a car booty on Sundays and its a proper carbooty no whole salers
There is only 2 downfalls 1, only one shop and it is pricey and only 1 laundry for the whole camp site. I paid £66. 00 for 4 Nights and we got £30. 00 of vouchers to use in the bars that was £10. 00 a night with date's on the back so it only cost me £36. 00 for the 4 nights with electric
we are going back in 4 weeks time I even booked it as we was there

Well priced for a holiday park type - you could just take the basic pitch at £22 and then add on entertainment, pool etc if you wished. Lovely views, nice layout, but like a small town. Showers were awful, really bad for the standard of site. Amazed that they are that bad at the start of a season. One night there were a gang of teens running around shouting and kicking a ball all over for hours until after midnight. No security or Warden in site. Also the usual drunks in the statics staggering back after midnight as well. Some statics seemed oblivious to their drunken behaviour. Nice enough, if you're lucky with the neighbours, but really aimed at families with younger kids. Rocky beach area good for exercise and a bit of tame climbing and jumping off rocks! Entertainment was good, especially bubbles guy and young Kurt? singers good too. Pity about the rowdies. :(

Just spent 5 nights in August at this holiday park. Friendly staff, toilet and shower facilities were a bit cramped but they were clean at all times. Plenty of entertainment for the children and the views from the park and surrounding areas were outstanding however, I would not use this park again, we were on a hardstanding pitch which wasn't level and only big enough for the caravan the awning had to go on the grass which was very uneven dirty and full of pot holes, the grass was long when we arrived and never cut during our stay, although the grass around the static caravans was kept nice.
The park is very large and the shop is at the top of a very steep hill.
The beach is small and rocky, a mixture of sand and broken shells and the steep path down to it is dangerous.
We chose this park because our friends had booked a static the same week, they also were disappointed, they have a dog so had to have a bronze caravan, the caravan was very nice but the seats were covered in dog hairs and both our dogs had aquired a few fleas by the end of the week.
Maybe it's because I use Caravan Club sites a lot that I sound critical but when I booked a hardstand I expected it to be big enough for the caravan and the awning.

We have stayed at this site many times and have always found it a great place to stay. The toilets are clean with hot showers and swipe card entry. These can however get busy first thing in the morning.
We have always chosen to stay in the overflow field which is nice and flat with a small brook running along it so if you have young children its something to be aware of.
The entertainment is fantastic with Bubbles the clown for the kids. Bingo for the mums and Caberet on after 10. The club room can get quite busy and I feel should be larger for the size of this site. So get there early to get a seat.
The pool is a good size and although sometimes there is a wait to get in you can purchase your bands and be given a time to go back for your session.
There are plenty of play parks and my one gripe is that there is not one next to the main tenting field where you can more or less see your kids from where you pitch.
The restaurant on site is lovely and well priced and there is a takeaway also. Overall its a great site and we will continue to go back there.

Visited this site the End of May bank Holiday after finding most other sites to be fully booked. The site itself was reasonable and had all of the usual amenities. However as a camping site it fell down on a few areas.
The price was £28 per pitch per night the most I have ever paid!
We pitched on the main touring field, which was a huge mistake. The field was mostly on a slope which was minor nuisance and had to be taken into account when pitching the tent. The most significant issue though was road noise - The A75 runs alongside the touring field, and it sounded as if we were pitched on the road. The road is used extensively at all hours, and a significant number of lorries use it. If you are going to camp at this site and you end up in the field I strongly recommend you take some earplugs with you as it will help you get a decent nights sleep.
The only other gripe was that you had to be in the shower before 9am to stand any chance of getting a warm shower.

Booked up a 3 night stay for the end of may bank holiday. Really surprised to get a booking at such short notice, which made me a bit weary of the site. If everywhere else was fully booked, how come this place had so much space.?
Anyway, our concerns were totally unfounded - Lovely site in a beautiful area. Th site was immaculate, and toilet / shower blocks clean every time we used them. Dog walk on site, as well as bar, pool, takeaway, small gym, hairdressers and entertainment. Has its own shingle / rocky beach area (shame it wasn't sand, as it would be perfect), and its own slipway.
One word of warning though - the site is very steep, so those with mobility problems may struggle to get around.
Enough on site to keep teenagers happy for a few days, small ball pool for the younger ones, but not that much to do in the surrounding areas outside of the park. Its sort of cross between a Haven site & a caravan club site - most of the amenities of a haven site, along with the cleanliness and tranquillity of a Caravan Club Site.
And don't forget to ask at reception for a TV Ariel - wire. They're free, and just need a £10 deposit.
