After travelling up from the West Midlands in heavy traffic,to this site we put our tent up in the dark. Yes the toilet is a bit standard and there isn't hot water, but we bought a portable shower from decathlon sports for less than a tenner which would of been nice if we were able to use it but thats english weather for you. We were greeted by a friendly Brenda and her son who own the site its also their back garden, therefore patrol it on a regular basis, which was nice to see as they also make sure you are ok. We have two younger children who were with us.
Well we couldn't change the weather so hey! We went to the pleasure beach in the pouring rain but encountered an £8.00 parking fee and were told that as our son who is only 2 he couldn't go on anything. When you could count the number of rides on one hand our 4 year old daughter could on, much to her unamusement. We then left after half an hour but saw a water world swimming baths which would have cost us £41.00 for the family, but after speaking to Brenda she told us their was a council ran swimming baths less than 1 mile away which cost £7.00 for the family,ok! Mo flumes or chutes, but it had a lovely toddler pool and a larger pool with underfloor heating in all changing booths and toilets and it was nice and clean. We just couldn't argue for less than 1/3 of the price of the water world complex on the sea front.
Would go again and we had nice friendly stay

Another great stay at this basic campsite, only 2 mile drive to the seafront.
Whilst it must be one of the cheapest in the area remember there is no hot water / showers so make your own arrangments, also some may be put off by the single toilet, which would benefit from a decoration job.
I am sure they could increase fees slightly to cover and no one would complain.
Electric hook up all round, also water and disposel point. Pets welcomed .
Supermarket 2 min drive or 10 min walk.
Very level good ground and well kept.
If in doubt where it is just ask Brenda for her very clear directions.

We've stayed there 2 nights. It was quite good for that price, but there was no hot water, no showers and setting up a tent was a bit diffuclt without good hammer. Staff was great, very friendly and helpful! They even gave us a map of Blackpool and explained how to get to Pleasure Beach. It was one of the best places on our road trip!

We have just returned after 2 nights at Greenacres & the previous reviews cover it perfectly. There is no hot water available, just one toilet & sink in an outhouse type building with no proper lock on the door (string to wrap round a cleat for security) The access was a bit hairy for our 14 foot caravan but we were assured that even a 26 foot motorhome could do it. The road in is quite rough but the pitches, on grass, are level. The owners were very friendly & helpful & gave good directions for The Cottage chippy - where you can spot celebrities if you are lucky. The fish melts in the mouth & is famed in Rick Steins Good Seafood Guide. If you have your own facilities or don't mind basic camping as it should be done this is a fantastic value for money site, being ideally situated for the seafront & just off the motorway. We would definitely go again as it made what could have been an expensive illuminations trip far more reasonable.

Nice little site ,close enough to the seafront to walk ( about 2 miles )but far enough away to be peaceful. Facilities are basic ,1 toilet and a sink with cold water but perfectly adequate for the weekend or longer if you have your own facilities. EHU is available . Owners are very friendly and helpful . We enjoyed our stay and will be returning again.

We have been for breaks/holidays to Brenda and Keith's on about 6 or 7 occasions in the past 14 months in our trailer tent and caravan. They are very friendly people and are really helpful, especially Keith when we first got our caravan and didn't have a clue how to put the awning up. Nothing is too much trouble and Brenda is really up on local knowledge places to visit, eat out, go for a drink etc. The site is very basic as has been said, with one toilet and a wash basin, but, we managed to wash properly (I need to wash my hair every day) in our trailer tent by boiling water on the stove or in the kettle. When camping you make the most of what you've got and for the price I'm certainly not complaining. Our 5 year old son loves our visits and has on occasion called Brenda "Grandma" by accident as he feels so comfortable in her presence, he also likes to take Dexter, their dog, for a walk with Brenda which is a welcome distraction when we are setting up. The campsite is really near to all the local attractions in St. Annes and Blackpool and also the major supermarkets are a 5 minute drive away. The Cottage Chippy in Marton is a must for fish and chip lovers, they have won lots of awards for their fish and chips, ask Brenda how to get there, you won't be disappointed. When we first booked Brenda gave us very precise directions and we found the campsite easily.

Have just spent three nights at this unusual site, best described as " Steptoe`s yard " .The owners are very friendly and helpful. I really don`t understand how the folks in tents ( of which there were many ) could possibly cope with one toilet and no hot water ,how do you wash yourself and pots and pans? The site is well placed from the M55 and convenient for supermarkets etc,the site entrance is difficult and needs care but the hedge on the small approach road has just been cut and makes things a bit easier. A large Garden Centre has opened next door and may prove difficult when established for access and egress particularly at weekends.

Stayed here for one night before going on to Morecambe. Brenda and Keith were really friendly. The price was very reasonable even with electric hookup. Only a few mins away from Blackpool centre. There's only one toilet and no hot water, but not really a problem and for the cost we will definitely be going back again but for a longer stay.

Stayed the last weekend of April 2007, I was a bit unsure at first if I had pick the right camp site to go to as the entrance to the site is down a single lane with water ditches both sides & no means of a turn round. The site is as said in their big back garden with the basics ie : 1 toilet & hand basin. The site is a little lumpy bumpy but with wheel levelers your fine. Youre very handy for the motorway & local bypass's but don't hear any noise from them. I did feel in safe hands when we left our van on it's own as the owners are on site most of the day & are very friendly, but I felt sorry for the tent campers necause there is no shower block & there were more tents than vans on the site over this weekend. If your bring your dog (as we had 2 ) be prepared for the noise the make when they spot next doors 10 cats :) & you telling them to shut up :) . On the whole it's a good base for the weekend if you are mobile or like taxi's.

Stopped in between Christmas and New Year, stayed 2 days and went back for a third. Small site with hardstanding, basic but ok for us. Brenda and son Keith were charming hosts and price of £5 per night plus £2 for electric was good. Definitely worth a visit if your in the Fylde coast area.
