We spent 9 nights at Domaine Le Bohat at the end of August. The site was fairly empty as the French holidays had more-or-less ended.
We found the Dutch owners friendly, helpful and relaxed (we were able to choose a pitch when we arrived).
The toilet blocks were clean, always hot water and toilet paper.
The pool facility was great. There were 2 covered and 2 outside pools (1 big and 1 toddler of each). The children's pools were really shallow so safe enough to allow our 5 and 2 year old to play in whilst we sat by the edge.
There were several well kept play areas for the kids, and a great bmx-style bike track in the trees suitable for my 5 year old.
The on site cafe served food in the evening, which was ok and convenient.
Washing machines and tumble driers were 4 or 5 euros each.
The surrounding area was lovely. Sarzeau was the nearest town, and only 2km cycle. Cycle tracks covered most of the peninsular and we had a bike ride most days to a beach, or a little town for coffee / ice cream.
The kids loved the freedom, played with other kids on neighbouring pitches and couldn't get enough of the pool.
Can't recommend this campsite highly enough.

We spent 6 nights here on our first trip to the continent with our caravan and we had a great time.
The site was very busy which took a bit of getting used to but we were made very welcome. Our pitch was very spacious with some shade but a little close to the toilet block for comfort!
The best thing about the site is the choice of activities available for children and teenagers. There is a very well run kid's club for the younger ones, and activities like pony riding and treasure hunts, and volleyball and evening swimming for older children. The swimming pools are fantastic - 2 covered and 2 open with slides and splash areas for all ages and plenty of sun loungers and great security to protect the little ones.
The bar is very close to the pool and serves lovely pizzas at a reasonable price. There are sunken trampolines, ping pong tables and a few play areas dotted around the site.
The showers were clean and spacious.
The area is pleasant enough but the other side of the Morbihan bay is more picturesque and there didn't seem to be a great choice of sights or tourist attractions. Port Crouesty was very pleasant for a stroll and a bit of shopping with a good choice of restaurants. There were good cycle routes with maps available from reception. Overall we very much enjoyed our stay and would recommend this site for those with children wanting a fun-packed if somewhat hectic holiday!

This is our second visit to and my second review of this lovely campsite in Sarzeau, Southern Brittany. We are a family with 3 children and stayed for 9 nights at the beginning of 4 weeks in France. And once again we really enjoyed our time here.
The Dutch campsite owners Rida and Jurian are very friendly and welcoming and obviously take great pride in their campsite. They speak very good English.
The pitches are of a good size with one half of them situated in almost full sun, with apple and plum trees dotted amongst them giving a little shade, the other half of the pitches are set amongst thicker trees which give much more shade.
The 3 toilet blocks are clean with hot showers, separate ones for men and ladies, and for which we never have had to queue. There is a baby bath also and plenty of washing up sinks.
The pool area is great- there is a covered swimmingpool, a covered toddler pool, an outdoor pool with slides and a small toddler pool with a slide. Speedo type swimwear for men only though.
The site organises plenty of entertainment for children. The children's club(Monday-Friday 10am-12, for ages 4-14)is very popular and well run, Jurian the site owner and his team even drive round the campsite on a tractor with trailor on Monday mornings giving the children rides to the children's club field. Once there the children can take part in crafts, sports, treasure hunts etc.
In the afternoons some entertainment is organised for the older children- waterpolo, volleyball, ping pong tournaments, boules and kayaking trips and horseriding trips. Evening entertainment is low key- pony rides around the campsite for the little ones and volleyball and evening swimming for the older children. On one of the evenings there was a clown show for the children. There is also a bar with outside seating which overlooks one of the children's playareas (there are 3 or 4 good children's playarea on site).
When we visited last July almost everyone was Dutch but this year there was a really big increase in British caravans creating a 50/50 mix of Dutch and British.
Close by there is a good choice of supermarkets.
Sarzeau itself is a nice pretty little town with nice shops and not to far away for a day out is Vannes.
We spent one afternoon at nearby Port Navalo which has a nice beach.
If you are looking for a nice, clean, family run family site, (there are lots of children here), in Southern Brittany then I would not hesitate to recommend this site.

What to say that hasn't be said already? This Dutch-owned site is excellent in almost every respect if you're looking for a family-orientated site in southern Brittany. The campers were almost all Dutch or British (we were outnumbered about 3-1 at a guess!) but although we pitched our tent in a little cul-de-sac with 4 Dutch families, that proved a bonus rather than concern. By the end of the week our 9-year old daughter had a small vocab of dutch words to share with her new best friend.
Facilities were excellent all round, with great pool and play complexes. Supervision definitely necessary for smaller children, but only because the pools are not supervised by the campsite itself. Showers and wash-facilities kept warm and clean all day.
Plenty of small towns and villages to explore and discover rural Brittany, and some spectacular coastline (not unlike Cornwall or West Wales). Vannes was only about 30 minutes drive away and well worth the visit.
We stayed for 6 nights as part of a multi-site holiday. With hindsight, we'd have stayed here for 8 or 10 nights; it was that good.

Great family friendly site.
Pools & playground excellent.
Great little BMX sort of track even my 3 year old could ride his bike on.
Loved being able to cycle into the town with cafes & market.
Plenty going on without noise at night - perfect for families with young kids.
Toilet facilities clean & well kept.
Friendly owners.
My only slight criticism would be we found the site a little scruffy looking on arrival but in retrospect I suspect that was having come from Etang des Haizes in Normandy with it's vibrant flower beds at the entrance.

My wife and I visited this site and really enjoyed our 2 week stay. It is very well located near cycle paths which enabled us to explore the peninsula on our bikes. The routes are nearly all on dedicated cycle routes although there was some element of certain routes that took you on minor roads.
The site is almost split into two. The 'top' section nearest to Reception is the area called the Orchard. Varying size plots, some fully serviced. Nearly all in full sun but well served by two washblocks.
The other part of the site is behind Reception where the plots are divided by more mature hedging/trees. We had a really good plot in this section with part shade. We would seek to have a plot here when we return.
The modern washblocks were very clean served by solar panels so the water was always hot.
Bread was made on the premises with orders being taken the day before. The shop was not that well stocked but as we were in low season it did not bother us very much. Anyway a Lidl store is only 10 minutes walk away and the very pretty town of Sarzieu afew minutes more, with ample supermarkets/butchers etc.
The town was very attractive and had several cafe/restaurants. The snack menu at the PMU was very good value!
Would not hesitate to recommend this site to anyone wishing to explore this part of Southern Brittany.
Free wifi access within Reception or just outside when office closed.

We spent 7 nights at this lovely site in July 2010 during our 3 week holiday in France and this was definitely our favourite site.
We arrived on a lovely hot Sunday afternoon and were allocated a good sized pitch.
At 10am the next morning we could hear noise and laughter and looked out to see a tractor slowly driving around the site picking up children to take to the kids club. My girls (age 7 and 4) thought that this was fantastic and off they went. After that my children wanted to go to kids club every day,(weekday mornings 10-12),and happily made crafts or took part in sports.
The pool area was great, very clean and new. There were 2 big pools (an outdoor one with a big slide and a covered one),and 2 more pools for very young ones, again outdoor and indoor which were both a big hit with my 1 year old. The weather was lovely during our stay and so we used the pools every day.
The children's play areas were also great and the campsite also had 2 ponies that gave the children pony rides around the site on a couple of evenings per week.
There was not much organised entertainment during the evenings, a Breton evening was organised on one evening and there was a bar, but most people just seemed happy relaxing outside their tents or caravans.
Unfortunately we did not manage to see much of the area,(due our children just being so happy on site), but we definitely intend to do so when we return here in July 2011.
A really nice site.

We have just returned form a perfect 3week stay at Le Bohat. Originally we booked for 2 nights as were new to the area and weren't sure how long we would stay - we needn't have worried, both the campsite and local area are beautiful! The owners have managed to strike that very rare but perfect balance between having many services on site without turning your peaceful camping holiday into a stay on a theme park.
We arrived on august 14th and the site was just starting to empty out, it had been fully booked for the French season- but this suited us fine- the restaurant, kids club and other facilities kept running fully til the end of aug, things do change in September but as we left on 2nd I don't know to what extent.
We had a Grand Confort pitch in the wooded area, good for shade! A lovely big pitch for a little extra each night, but the basic pitch sizes were a good size too. The toilets, showers( lovely and hot!) and washing facilities are kept very clean, and the pool area was brilliant- suiting our 10 and 4 yr olds equally. We had take-away pizza one night and ate in the restaurant another both very reasonable and VERY tasty! The surrounding area is stunning- not too touristy ( except for Port Crouesty- very yachty meets american shopping mall!) Sarzeau, St Gildas, Port Navalo are all great- a great selection of daily markets in the area too. We did 2 day trips- Chateau Suscinio( excellent value 15 euros a family), and the zoo at Branfere- around 45 euros but well worth it, if for the arial tree walk alone- FAB!
We will definitely be returning to this lovely site- a real credit to the lovely Dutch couple who own it!

Just spent 8 nights on this camp site enjoyed every minute even though weather was rubbish.
Brilliant for kids safe and secure all round.
Although as a family we found the best place to be was in the quieter part of the site and not in the middle area. We also found it was a little too far to walk into Sarzeau but took only five minutes to drive. Nearest beach was approx ten minutes away by car but the best beach we found was in Arzon. Eating out was dearer in towns as against the campsite. The two SuperU supermarkets that were close by were good value but if we had a BBQ the meat selection was far better and cheaper in the Lidle supermarket and nearer.
As we just missed the busiest week of the French holiday season we could get round the pool but I would recommend taking your own sunloungers as we did.

Just returned from a great family camping holiday at Le Bohat. As first time campers we didn't want to travel too far from Roscoff (2 hours drive) and we were not disappointed. A perfect site for younger kids (our 10 and 4 yr olds loved the pool/play areas). Understated activity areas for kids, a nice on site bar and quiet after 10pm. Showers etc were very clean and close to pitches. We had a good sized pitch with a hook up and had lovely French, Brit and Dutch neighbours. English is spoken by the staff but for getting around/eating out a French phrase book is essential if your French is rusty! Le Bohat is in a great location for exploring the local villages, beaches and harbours. My family are already planning next years visit!
