This has to be the best site we have found so far. On arrival it was obvious how much time is taken to keep the grounds looking as beautiful as they do. The wardens were extremely helpful and showed us to our pitch which was located close to all the facilities.
The electricity is paid by a prepayment card system and cost us roughly £1 per day. Any unused cards were refunded. The toilet and shower block was lovely and clean and the water nice and hot. We had a key for the disabled facilities which were spacious and well laid out.
There were a couple of play areas for the children as well as a games room which included a pool table. The club house was a decent size with entertainment and a game of bingo.
The people on the site were mainly seasonal tourers and static owners and were some of the friendliest people we have ever met. There was also a laundry, a shop and a dog walking area.
A fish and chip van visits on a Friday night which is a great idea but we weren't that impressed with the food! It is a mile into Ripon centre (took us about twenty minutes on foot) which is a beautiful town and offers a good range of shops, pubs and eating places. Weatherspoons was very popular for food but we highly recommend the White Horse, situated on the road into Ripon, for breakfast. The owner opens early and we had three full english breakfasts with tea and toast and beans on toast with juice for under ten pounds! Everything was cooked beautifully and really is too good to miss.
There is loads to do in the surrounding area including Lightwater Valley a short drive away. We enjoyed our stay so much we tried to book for the full summer but unfortunately the site was unable to accommodate us due to their popularity.
We will definitely be back very soon!

About the 8th or 9th time we have been here and have never been disappointed yet.
A new team in place who are doing a cracking job.
With it being such a large site I am disappointed that they do not serve meals. (The do frozen pizzas or bruschettas only)
Very friendly staff, but they seemed obsessed with cutting the grass, (3 times in 7 days)
A bit far to walk in to Ripon if you have any mobility problems but the local taxi's are very reasonable. We recommend the Wetherspoon's for Breakfast and other meals. Very good and very reasonable.
Thursday is market day in Ripon
If you have never been to Ripon before, do not fail to visit the Cathedral, it is stunning.

This was our first visit to the site. We booked a hard standing pitch along with 3 other families and were all positioned together. It was a very wet weekend but we were all prepared with wellies and waterproof jackets.
The site itself was mainly statics with a lot of seasonal tourers. Hardstanding pitches were of a good size but we noticed that grass pitches looked rather close to each other and squashed in!
On the site was a small well stocked shop which was very reasonably priced, a club house with a variety of entertainment (including Saturday night bingo) and bar prices were good, a couple of children's play areas, good dog walks from site along river and a fish and chip van arriving on a Friday night - again not over priced.
Excellent shower and toilet facilities - very clean but a little on the cold side and no individual washbasin areas.
It's a pleasant 20 mins walk into Ripon where there a number of shops, pubs and numerous cafes. There is also the Cathedral which is open to the public.
Wardens were very friendly.
Electricity is paid for by pre paid cards and at first we had our concerns but what a good idea. For us it worked out at less than £1 a day and reception refund for any unused cards.
As a group of 4 units it was an excellent site to visit and for us to spend time together.
I can see it being very busy throughout the summer months and it could be difficult to get a seat in the club house but you would just need to get there early!
We would certainly recommend to others and will visit again in the future.

Visited this site in April 2010 have previously stayed here before but wont be going back. The reason being called the site by landline 5 days before our visit asked to book a hard stand in front of toilet block, to be told that we cant book a hard stand as they are issued on a first come first served basis. We were told because we were going on a Thursday we would have a good chance to get one, I told the receptionist that I am registered disabled and told they would try their best to give us a hardstanding pitch. On arrival at site, we were informed that we could not have a hardstanding pitch because they are reserved for twin axle units and motor homes. There was six empty hardstandings when we arrived on site. The manager stated that the lady we had spoken to on the phone was just a new starter, which did not help the situation at all as this only highlighted poor training and information on the site management. All of our previous visits to this site have been on hardstanding pitches. We were put on a sloping grass pitch and by the evening we were packed in. Tents pitched near to us, were so close together, less than two feet between the two tents. After this experience, we shall not return to this site.
The facilities were clean and the shop well stocked. Surrounding area very nice and ripon is a busy market town.

We stayed at this site over the Easter bank holiday weekend. The site large and is mainly statics,
The club house is good and is family orientated with events for the younger children, at least why we were there.
The toilets and showers are good and kept clean.
There are a few hard standing (stone) pitches near the toilet block and having a twin axle we were placed there.
The weather was wet and I would have thought that a park like this would have been prepared and equipped to deal with it !
The touring pitches were a little crammed in and became impossible to get your car anywhere near your unit due to the mud, even with four wheel drive it was a skating ring. Then there was the electricity supply, this was rated at 10 amps and spent more time off than it did on. There was a big sign at reception asking everyone to turn their heaters off to stop tripping the electric.
On the plus side if the weather had been warm and dry then Yes I would recommend the site, but I do not think I would take that chance and go back their again

Very nice campsite, but somewhat overpriced if you aren't going to use all the facilities offered. The wardens are very nice and approachable, and the toilet block is kept very clean. The campsite is very well maintained, and we probably would return. The only flaw is it is in a slightly different location (at the top of an industrial estate) so sometimes we could hear noise from the nearby factories.

Excellent site, great wardens & just about everything you could ask for on a caravan site. Plenty for kids to do, 2 good size play areas, an inside play room with pool table etc. Would def. Recommend for anyone wanting to visit Ripon, just a short drive to Lightwater valley & a pleasant ten minute walk over the river to the town centre. I will be going back soon!
