A last minute decision to try this site as an on-route stopover, rather than going into Aviemore. How lucky we were to drop in on the site’s last weekend before winter closure, I’m sure we will be back.
So conveniently located, just ¼ mile off the A9, but so quiet! Big hand-standing pitches with TV points and power hook-ups. The site itself is edged with trees and has views up to the hills.
While the toilet/shower block is un-heated, it’s clean, sufficient for the number of pitches and there’s lots of hot water (and mops for showers).
I can't really give a full review after just one night at the very end of season, but I will be back !

Good Points:- Trusting warden, we hadn't realised it was cash only and didn't have enough, we were told to park and the next day would be fine to pay. Large pitches, plenty of room for a car, caravan and awning. Grass areas kept tidy, toilet block clean, nice dog walk once you'd climbed up the hill at the back of reception.
Bad Points:- States toilet block recently refurbished but seemed very old fashioned to me! Only one plug all week in the dishwashing area which could have been a problem if the site had been busy ( however was very quiet for height of season), poor stock in 'shop' but probably wouldn't have mattered as 'shop' was also reception which wasn't open too often.
No private sink areas in toilet, no information on site offered on arrival/or on payment, eg apparently there was WiFi available but we weren't informed of this or of the availability of a tv booster cable that we could hire or buy. I feel this site could be much improved with a little injection of cash and enthusiasm.

Spent a night at the caravan club site in July. We weren't very impressed. I part of site was full the other part please yourself where you park which was fine.
No tv signal in most of site only certain parts but wasn't told. Shower block could do with upgrading no dry area for your clothes plus shower went cold half way.
No lights around site just 1 or 2.
Bit expensive for what you got.

Visited this site for three nights whilst touring Scotland, not much in shop (decent sized co-op in Newtonmore), warden is on site daily, grounds are very well kept and toilets/showers very clean, laundry is a little on the expensive side. Views are amazing and virtually no noise intrusion from the A9, cars can be parked next to tent with lots of room for kids to play and there is a small park for them too.
I would recommend this site to anyone wishing to stay in this area.

Good quiet basic site, clean facilities, but not many of them. Flat area for tents, car can be parked at side of tent. Dog friendly with a lovely wood for walking dog in. No items in shop other than a couple of things for caravans, was hoping for more relevant items, but the site is near enough to the Co-op in Newtonmore. Didn't notice any noise from A9 at all.

As this was my first trip out in a campervan I wasn't quite sure what to expect.
I was pleasantly surprised - Nice peaceful site - toilets & shower units very clean.
Hard stands and grass stands - so plenty to choose from - Ample space between vans. Plenty of hookup points. There is a wee Shop on site for the emergency stock ups.
Point to note: credit/debit card not accepted - bring cash

A well kept site with the facilities very clean. Would not be adequate if the campsite was full there being only 1 toilet block, however not many units on the site over the bank holiday week! Showers are good but there is no curtain to screen off clothes which does mean that they may get wet when showering.
A9 close by which could be noisy if camping but not a problem in caravan.
very little in the shop
Lots of small birds on site and close to attractions in the area.
Good internet access included in price but no phone signal O2 or Vodafone and no digital television at the moment. Still on analogue. Expensive site if you do not want internet access.

Just returned from a 10 day visit to this idyllic site which is surrounded by woods, mountains and rivers. Do not be put off by a previous comment regarding noise from the nearby A9. It's really not an issue for consideration, birdsong and a woodpecker were considerably noisier! Exceptionally large pitches which accommodated our large caravan, awning and 4x4 with ease. EHU and TV ariel connection point. Hardstanding pitches are gravel so rock pegs required for awnings etc. Pot washing room, laundry, toilets and showers all kept spotlessly clean and smelt fresh. The showers are 'free flowing' and hot, although, the cubicle space open so dry clothes are at risk of getting wet. However placing them in a plastic carrier bag easily solves the problem! Numerous walks straight from site including a nearby pine forest, and a cycle track to Pitlochry. Mobile phone reception non existent (orange/vodafone) but access to internet available via the on site wi-Fi. The fact that this site is not close to shops, pubs and amusement parks is what makes it wonderful, tranquil and idyllic, playing host to beautiful birds, wildlife, campers and glampers alike. Enjoy!

We stayed at this site overnight, it is a caravan club site but accepts non members which is good because we are not members yet. We could pick what pitch we wanted and were not restricted to certain areas. Near the trees their are more midges as its more in the shade there. The site is clean and tidy, there were hard standings with electric hook ups and taps for direct water at most pitches. The showers were great, I didn't use the washing areas but they looked clean. It was a great site staff very friendly and welcoming. Would recommend and use again, just a shame we were moving on so only stayed 1 night. The site is dog friendly with no extra charge and there are walks direct from the site or a little further up the road around the forest. It was only a short drive away to reach the towns of Aviemore and Kingussie for the touristy things.
Much better value than a lot of sites we have stayed at.

Went June 2013 and loved this site. We used it as a stop over been Brora and Moffatt. We thought it might be noisy being close to the A9 (but it was only for 1 night) however it wasn't noisy at all, quite the reverse and we saw red squirrels playing in the trees which was a delight. Dog friendly too. It was down a narrow road over a railway bridge and then into a lovely open campsite with spacious pitches. We were able to choice our own pitch. The views all round were really good. Very impressed with this site. Okay the loos were a bit dated but they were up to the job.
