Nothing wrong with this site but nothing that stands out either. It is flat and sheltered by hills, plus close to cycleway and near (but not oppressively near) main road. It's rather stark though in every sense: little attention to landscaping the site, no useful features such as hooks in the toilets or seats in the showers, and some brusque notices. It's certainly good for a night and the grass pitches are a good size if you have multiple tents etc. Just lacks the loving touch and a bit pricey for what you get.

We stayed here for an overnight stop on our way back down from the Highlands. Lovely, quiet, very peaceful site. Ideal for an overnight stop. Close to the A9 so there is some slight traffic noise in the background, however this is not excessive and we could all (including both children) sleep with no problems.
Site itself is flat with spacious pitches. Ladies facilities include 4 shower cubicles with plenty of hot water - constant no push button! Only problem I found with the showers was that there is no stool to put clothes etc, need to use the hooks. Also there is no shower curtain so shoes will get wet when shower on.
Play park for kids has a tyre swing and small assault course with plenty of open space for games etc.
We would use this site again for a stopover.

While heading north, I had a problem with my campervan and pulled into Invernahavon for the night. Reception had closed at 6pm (I arrived at 6. 10), but a notice advised to take a pitch and pay later, which I did when the warden arrived next morning.
Toilet and washroom facilities are clean and adequate. There were very few pitches occupied while I was there, but if the site fills up in the summer there could be a bit of queuing for the facilities. Separate laundry and dish-washing room.
Pitch (hard standing) was good and level, with electrical supply and TV aerial point. Wifi was OK, although the signal did occasionally drop out (but since this is included in the pitch rental, I was quite happy with it!). Mobile phone coverage limited.
The site itself is attractive, with good views to the surrounding hills, but there is a bit of low-level traffic noise from the A9 and passing trains. Nice walks in the adjacent woods.
There is a shop with limited stock, but this was not open when I arrived, since it is in the reception area, so if I needed anything I would have had to get into Newtonmore, about 4 miles away.
A good location for an overnight stop while on the way north or south, or as a base for exploring the surrounding hills.

Average level of facilities with clean washrooms and functional laundry facilities. Site offers some quite pleasant scenery without any outstanding features though a short trip locally has some stunning views of mountains/ hills.
Site itself is positioned on flat area so ideal if hills are in any way a problem.
Staff on site verging on truculent and not present most of each afternoon.

We stayed for eleven nights using the site as a base for exploring the cairngorms. Unfortunately our cars fuel pump packed in just as we arrived on site. The warden was great - he brought us some petrol in case we had run out ( we hadn't), he let us use the office phone (as there's no mobile signal) to ring for mayday assistance and he sited the caravan for us using his own car.
The actual site is in a wonderful setting - surrounded by mountains and forest and on two sides rivers.
TV reception is non existent unless you pitch on a certain part of the site which has booster cable hook up. However the part which doesn't have it is the most picturesque area. So you would have to decide which you would rather have. We managed without TV and enjoyed spectacular views.
The free WIFI was a bit intermittent. Any bad weather and it just wouldn't connect which was a bit annoying as I liked using it to keep in touch with family back home because I didn't have a mobile signal to ring them.
I didn't use the laundry but a friend also there did and just one load cost £9. 00 to wash and dry which we thought was very expensive. However the toilets and showers were nice and clean although I agree with a previous reviewer that it might be a struggle when the site is busy.
My only small complaint is that the shop isnt that well stocked and although Newtonmore isnt far away it meant joining the busy A9 trunk road if we needed supplies. So maybe best to go with plenty of provisions and remember to buy what you need before returning to the site every day.

Right on the edge of the Cairngorms this is an ideal site for wildlife, walking and any other outdoor activities.
Pleasant and well kept with plenty of room between pitches. The toilet block is nice and clean but might struggle when the site is really busy.
Newtonmore and Kingussie are just up the road for any supplies you might need but, if you are desperate, Inverness is only about an hour further north.
Nice site as either a base or as a stop over for anyone going to the north coast or further.

It was our fourth visit to this site, we go up for the birdwatching etc. It has plenty of open space with good sized pitches. The toilet block is very clean although it could do with more showers but it has plenty of hot water . It was starting to get busy when we left but being early risers we were able to get a shower before they filled up. The man in the reception isn't exactly Mr Personality but he does leave you alone and isn't one for always being about checking this and that. Handy for the small local town and Aviemore and Inverness where there are two huge Tesco's for diesel/shopping. Its handy as a stop off point on the way further North.

Stopped on this site for 1 night and the whole family loved it. It has very large touring pitches and the whole layout of the site is spacious. Loads of room for the kids to play. Some lovely walks off the site. We will certainly be going back.

This site is really nice - with a walk along the river where you can fish. We only stayed one night on our way to Aviemore - there is so much to do around here - it isn't the most 'get back to nature site' - I prefer the forest camping site in Aviemore despite exorbitant price increases - it's just got great views - but this is still a good site and a reasonable base for exploration.
Good showers, laundry with an iron (old fashioned type that's free) and a small shop. You shouldn't have anything to complain about if you come here!

Another site with a great location and long-reaching views of mountains, forests and valleys. It's large and has plenty of hard standing and grass pitches, with and without hook-up. Some of the pitches are not quite level and motorhomes may need levellers. The shower block is good and well maintained. According to the book, it's affiliated to the Caravan Club so you can be sure of a reasonable standard. All other facilities were good and easily accessible - CD point, water, MV dump point etc. The book says TV reception is 'fair.' All we could get was a lot of static and fuzzy snow, but part of that could be down to our equipment. Mobile service was patchy; Orange was non-existent (not unusual) and Vodafone blipped out from time to time. If you want to use the laundry, check costs carefully - they're not publicised and you'll need to buy tokens from the shop. We paid £6.10 for one small wash and it was still slightly damp. We couldn't buy more tokens to finish drying because the shop had closed by this time. £3.60 of the cost was for drying - or not as the case may be. The shop had basics, but it wasn't open for large parts of the day. We used the site for a one night stop-over and will be happy to do the same when next in the area. But we'll go with clean clothes next time.
