Just returned from a weekend at this small site. Having read previous reviews was pleased to find nice clean facilities if a little small, The touring pitches are small but we were given a corner pitch as I had spoken to reception on booking and told them our van was larger that the 6m x 6m advertised. The club has a pub side and a side with entertainment on and we enjoyed both nights entertainment. As there were not many touring vans on the site that weekend and the club was quite full I think that in peak season you would find it difficult to get a seat. The fishing pond was a success and always had people fishing on it and we saw some large catches. We went swimming and liked the pool. We also had a lovely walk along with beach/salt marshes with our dog. A trip to Mablethorpe was only 10 minutes drive away. We would re-visit but not in high season.

Sunnydale, very clean and friendly site.
We were greeted at reception with friendly and helpful staff.
Staff at the heated indoor pool were more than helpful, and contrary to other reviews the pool was in excellent working order. All facilities very clean, if there were only 2 showers, dont forget that you do come in a caravan or motorhome, so use your own for a change.
The site itself was very clean and tidy, and very well lighted around all areas. The site itself is a little out of the way, but is very quite. The site is ideal the get away from it all, but a short drive takes you to other resorts. I would recommend, but not is you require a lot of activities going on. Forgot to mention the fishing pond, always in constant use, very popular, with both men and women

After our last experience at this park, Park Resorts offered us 4 nights to see how the park had improved,
Upon arriving nothing had changed, the boiler was broken so the swimming pool was cold and unusable,
There is still only 2 showers for male and 2 for female for the full 48 pitches.
Still no potwash
£3.60 for a pint of lager in the club house
The kids club people seemed totally disinterested in the kids.
There was a powercut for the entire site.
There are far better sites out there.
The best thing about this site is the little pond that has some big carp in it.

Me and my family booked a touring holiday there last week during the children's school break, the showers didn't work properly all week.
On one occasion my wife took my 2 daughters to the shower and started showering our youngest daughter who is 5 years old in the ladies showers only for them to stop working halfway through [when our daughter had shampoo in her hair] my wife then had to walk to the pub leaving our 2 daughters in the showers to try and ask a member of staff to try and resolve the situation [as the reception shuts at 5 o clock]
My wife spoke to the female security guard and asked if she could use the female showers that are used for the swimming baths and explained the situation the female security guard said she would come and open the door but she would have to accompany them as they could get poolside. When they went in these showers they didn't work either so the security guard suggested using the mens showers and said she would stand watch outside so that no men could enter my wife agreed to this and took our daughters in there and they started to prepare to re-shower when a man shouted from the toilet that he was already in there, [which is not good when you have a naked 5 year old and a 15 year old about to shower].
When they then eventually tried to use the showers in the mens shower room they were simply too hot, both my son and me also couldn't use the showers all week due to the temperature.
The shower situation was like this all week and the reception staff didn't seem to want to know and indeed admitted that they repeatedly have to have tradesman out but the situation never seems to be resolved.
As well as this there was also incidents with the leisure centre staff allowing children of any age into the pool and also swearing in front of children which we had to report to reception.
On page 81 of park resorts camping and touring holiday 2011 brochure it says they have washing up facilities, when we asked upon arrival where they were we were told there wasn't any.
The price in the bar is steep, £3. 40 for a pint of kronenbourg, £3. 60 a pint of murphys,
The entertainment most nights consisted of a 'best of 1988' cd
Sunnydale has the potential to be amazing but unfortunately it is lacking at present.
The chip shop at the campsite over the road was awful and sold warmed up chips all day everyday,
The people at the garage over the road from the new inn are very friendly and sell almost everything, think arkwrights shop in open all hours
The beach and the walk at the top of the road is good, if you turn left at the top of the road and head up to donna nook you will see loads of seals on the beach and in the sea

Lovely site with great facilities for the Children and family entertainment in the Club. This site caters for Statics and Tourers. We stayed for 3 nights over Easter Holidays and the weather was warm and sunny and the touring site was full. On two occasions the Water supply stopped. Only 2 showers each for men and women for the whole site and there was a regular queue for the showers. Due to water problems the showers often ran dry (obviously the site could not cope with the high demand for water over Easter Period due to the site being full). Sadly, we would not go again because there were too many complaints.

5 nts 29/08-03/09. Car broke down on way ended up being towed in (class)! plot was next to dustbins, very uneven, elevated from tarmac & without car it was hard to manoeuvre onto especially in the wind and rain, motor mover proved near useless in these site and weather conditions. We were supposed to leave 6m between us and the caravan in front but due to the dustbins this was not possible or we would not have been able to erect the awning. All vans must have door and awnings facing the reception. Difficult to access your pitch with car given how site set out.
Swimming pool okay with left & right 0.5M section which are walled from rest with rest of pool at 1.4m no slides or anything although they do have float time between 2pm-3pm. Didn't use evening entertainment although there were singers and bingo and such like on throughout our stay info about which was on board inside the club.
Leisure centre houses the male and female showers and toilets (2 in each) for whole of tourers site and is about 200-400m from touring site depending on where you are situated. We were right near the tap and waste disposal so not sure if only one set of these or more. The tap had no pipe on it so unless you had your own you had to lift up the barrel whilst filling which many moaned about. It would appear the site is not very well geared up for tourers.
Mablethorpe 6 miles away, with cinema (cheap) and nice beach plus usual seaside entertainment (arcades, ice cream etc). Beach by Sunnydale is old RAF Bomb site Donna Nook and quite marshy and the sea is quite a way off (you could probably see it with a telescope). Signs up saying may be unexploded objects on beach. If you want to explore then bring your wellies and enter at your own risk.

We have just got back from this holiday. We paid for a 4 night break but only stayed the 1 night and moved to a different site altogether.
The pitches were tightly packed in. There was no toilet block, you had to use the toilets in the leisure centre where there were only two anyway and no pot wash facility.
The shop was pitiful. I didn't realise it was even a shop. There were about three shelves worth of goods to it!
The swimming pool was good but any more than two families in the changing room were a definite no-no as it was an open changing room and very small.
I personally never ate in the pub/restaurant.
I was told I wasn't allowed any form of refund for the remaining nights but as I had two unsettled children and an unhappy husband we decided as it was our last holiday of the year to try and make the best of it and move.

Just back from fab weekend there. Weather great, site clean & tidy, kids enjoyed character shows, swimming & B.B.Q with friends. Only snag toilet block some distance away. But didn't spoil it, booked next weekend and thinking of summer holiday there. Ideal for trips to Mablethorpe & Cleethorpes. Recommend carvery at Twarlers in Cleethorpes or Becks in Mablethorpe both £3.50 so's which ever way there's cheap meals. Looking forward to summer hols now.

Just returned from a Bank Holiday break at Sunnydale. Went as a party of 2 families with small children. There were mixed feelings about the site from the party - I really enjoyed the break but my husband said he wouldn't be rushing back!
Positives: The touring site was busy, but didn't feel overcrowded. Good sized children's play area, which was secure and close by. Children's entertainment was good both in the clubhouse and also during the day - on both days the site had an inflatable slide and bouncy castle, which the kids enjoyed and was just £1 for 20 minutes or £3 for all day. Also plenty of activities going on at the swimming pool. Bar prices comparable to other holiday resorts of this kind. Food OK on site - local chipshop apparently very good.
Negatives: As has been said before, there is no separate toilet/shower block and no washing up facilities at all, which is very annoying. Only 1 water point on the entire touring field which was fine for us as we were next to it but would have been a pain if you were in the far corner. Swimming pool changing rooms are small.
With very few touring facilities on the site, I wonder how much longer there will be tourers at Sunnydale as a number of statics now appear on the touring field. It would be a great shame if this were to happen.
For me, the site is fine for a weekend but for my family there would not be enough to do for much longer.

We use the site regularly. Good staff, good location, reasonable facilities and excellent beach and nearby nature reserve. Beware the beer/cider prices in the club. Take your own and/or use the New Inn (caravanner's pub). Good chippy on Sea Lane. The full name of the village is Saltfleet cum Skidbrooke (I think). There's a local cider available that'll put 'hairs on your chest'!
