We stayed four nights while visiting our daughter in Yeovil. Our car broke down on site and the staff could not have been more helpful and supportive - even offering to drop us off in Yeovil for the evening and pick us up later and showing genuine concern and interest in our plight.
The site is beautifully maintained, lovely flowers around the reception area and good, clean and cared for toilet facilities.
It is very quiet at night, being outside of Martock and the stars were wonderful while we were there. Very level pitches with plenty of room. Very relaxed atmosphere due to the friendly and helpful staff. The children's playground is pretty basic but as we were child free this trip it didn't bother us and there is lots of area to run around in

Very welcoming hostess! Couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome. Beautifully clean and well presented facilities. Fully equipped laundry. You will need to be prepared to drive to find somewhere to eat but the pub in the nearby village provides a more than adequate roast dinner with plenty of accompanying vegetables. Overall the site is well maintained with easy access. Good value for an overnight stop.

This was the first campsite that I visited upon purchasing my first caravan.
It is a small independent site with a couple of hard standing and a couple of serviced pitches. There were also grass pitches with EHUs. The owner is hoping to extend the site into an adjacent field that he owns are some point soon.
The owner also services caravans on site. He was a tremendous help to service the van. He managed to resolve a lot of the issues and was a huge help in showing me how to do things such as draining the system, aligning the TV aerial and other bits and pieces.
It has a lovely clean ablutions block that consists of a number of showers which are free and operate with a light pull switch, a number of sinks (all with soap), a number of loos then a separate heated room for laundry (which was extremely reasonable) and washing up. The only tip I would have is to be aware that the lights are managed by a movement sensor and may turn off before you finish getting the shampoo out of your hair. It takes a couple of times to coordinate how best to time your shower to stop this.
The Chemical Loo Disposal is an outside loo that can be flushed to ensure no smells and prevent drainage problems.
The mobile phone signal is awful but the TV signal is good.
I would definitely return to this site if I am in Somerset again.

We spent 5 nights at this lovely little site before moving on to Devon. The pitch was a reasonable size for an average size tent but a bit of a squeeze for our coleman Columbia 10 a pup tent and our car although this wasn't a problem as no one pitched next to us until the last night.
There is a small enclosed play area and a small enclosed dog area. The grass was keep short and neat and the pitches were flat. There is a small shop on site.
The owners were friendly and welcoming and the showers were clean and hot. Nice to have a string to pull to turn them on and off instead of an annoying push button and as others have said lots of hooks even some low down so that children can reach.
Never had to queue for a shower. Nice to wake up to cows mooing in the field behind although the only downside was that there were a lot of flies around because of them.
Especially on the fence. All in all a lovely quiet site and we would definitely go back.

We stayed here for one night on the way back up North, what a great site. It's £16 for a basic pitch and then you pay for elec and any more than two people - so reasonable and great facilities. All the recycling is also taken care of and the shop has loads of camping gear - also noticed the motorhome habitation which looked great.
Nice bathrooms and lots of hooks in showers which is just what you need.
Owners very friendly and in a lovely area so well worth another visit. Noticed Martock has a big church and the National Trust Treasurer's House.

We have just come home from a delightful few days at Southfork. What a delightful site.
It was very quiet and peaceful and small but that didn't mean there was little space - in fact the pitches were rather large and the site beautifully kept.
Despite it being mid-August, there was never a queue to use the showers or loos and they are kept very clean. The little touches on this site make a big difference - having tissues on hand by the sinks, putting a child's step in the loos to enable my littlest to reach the sinks, and so many hooks in the showers!
The owner and staff are very helpful and even anticipate your needs.
They provide an enclosed area for children to play in but with only a couple of pieces of equipment - one or two more would have been good but actually, the kids enjoyed having the space to kick a ball around in. There is also a separate dog exercise area.
The local village of Martock is very pretty with some friendly pubs. Yeovil is near by and we travelled to Bath, Bristol and Street from the site.
One of the loveliest things about the site (and our pitch in particular) was that there was a field of cows (bullocks) over the fence behind us who showed a great deal of interest in us and yet weren't at all noisy. We left having identified our favourite cows, and vowing to come back again. Well worth a stay.

What a lovely site ! Stayed here overnight on our trip to Newquay. Well tended, flat pitches. Met with a friendly smile and shown to our pitch.
The toilets/showers are limited, but as there is only 20 odd pitches this is not a problem and they were spotless. Small play area in far corner was very useful for our grandson to stretch his legs. Great range of bits in the caravan shop on site, also lovely bread etc. Good shops and takeaways in nearby village. Flower beds full of colour and general cleanliness of site made a perfect stay.

After recently buying our campervan we decided to stay in a local caravan park. We were thrilled with the welcome, the spotlessly clean shower cubicles and toilets, the generous washing up facilities and the playground for children. The shop was well equipped with everything that a camper would need. We did have a slight problem with the van on Sunday morning and after asking for help nothing was too much trouble. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to everyone. Thank you Southfork.

We are very regular visitors to this lovely, quiet campsite. Nothing is too much trouble for the resident owners and a warm welcome always awaits which probably explains why we are not the only visitors who keep coming back.
The surrounding countryside offers some lovely walks and exploring the area on bikes is a treat as you discover the local villages of Martock, South Petherton and Montacute built in local Ham Stone.
In addition to a well stocked shop (slightly less in winter), which includes local produce as well as camping spares, there is an on-site garage run by the campsite owner. Among the many services on offer is a very reasonably priced, certified habitation check together with 'wash and wax'.
The site has a small number of hard standings and a lovely grassed area. In addition there are three static vans to hire from the owners.
Its a gem of a site in a wonderful location. If only more camp sites were like this!

Stayed at Southfork for one night on a long distance walk with three one man tents. Our path passed through the site during the day so we popped in to say hello, very welcoming owner in the brilliant shop who said she would open up when we got back should we need any supplies - she lived upstairs so was able to keep an eye on things.
A small quiet site, clean and tidy with dog area and children's play area. WE were recommended to the pub in East Lambrook, very good with plenty of fish dishes.
Lots of walks here plus Montacute, Ham Hill and Yeovilton Fleet Air Arm museum. £6pppn a bargain.
