Spend a superb week at this lovely campsite in their well appointed Static Caravan which is situated in a quiet corner of the site away from other Caravans or tents. The site is only 5 minutes walk into the village of Bishop Monkton where there are two pubs from which to select enjoyable meals. There is also a Post Office/general store in the village. Ripon is 4 miles away and you have a choice of travel by road or take the beautiful walk along by the river and canal into this lovely little town. The larger town of Harrogate is only 10 miles away. Other places worth visiting are Boroughbridge, Aldborough, Fountains Abbey and a must is the wonderful 12th century Moated Manor House 'Markenfield Hall' which is still used as a family home (Visiting times are restricted so check before you go)
Thank you to the owners for making our visit so pleasurable. William & Margaret (N. Ireland)

Stayed here for 5 days last weekend and had a great stay. The site itself is lovely - quite flat, good facilities (2 showers, 2 loos for each, washing up and CDP).
The village has a lovely shop open reasonable hours but here is the real negative for this site and why it's not going to be on our 'return to' list. And yes it's such a shame as the site owners deserve more.
The Masons Arms has closed its doors leaving just the Lamb and Flag to go to for a beer or meal. The owners of this last remaining pub don't give a monkeys about your custom and you will not be made welcome if you have kids or a dog or aren't a local. With a good beer being a pre requisite for a good village campsite, we'll go elsewhere.
If you don't want a pub the Bishop Monkton site is great. The village has 2basic kids playgrounds (1 within 1minute of the field) well managed and good facilities. Buses to Ripon and Harrogate pass through the village.

Just got back from this site and would recommend to anyone that wants a good clean camp. Its located on edge of a lovely village, very quite site, toilet block is basic but very clean, showers are on a token for 50p, don't agree with paying extra for a shower but they are ok for the money, went to the only pub in village, would not recommend if you like friendly good food pubs, the sign outside said meals served from 6 till 9 went in and was told no food till half six, it was only 6 o, clock when we went in and they were turning away a family of 13 cos they had kids, nice if you can afford to be choosy these days, anyway back to site, even after all the rain we have had lately the site was well drained with no boggy bits, the old lad that dealt with us on arrival and leaving was very helpful with advice on places to go locally and enjoyed a good gossip, very good site, been twice now and look forward to taking grandkids later on in the year.

We have just returned from our first ever camping trip with our 2 young daughters, and this site was just what we were hoping for. It is reasonably priced, in a good location and with friendly owners and staff - our girls had a fantastic time just playing in the field around our tent, and even though the weather wasn't great they're already looking forward to our next camping adventure. We even met some kindly fellow campers who took pity on us when our stove malfunctioned, and let us borrow a stove and kettle!
Bishop Monkton is a beautiful little village, and as we were lucky enough to visit over the jubilee weekend our girls enjoyed the excitement of the boat races and the morris dancing.
Only one sour point to our stay - the landlord and lady of the Lamb and Flag in the village seem to have a particular aversion to children, and certainly made it clear that they weren't happy about us occupying a quiet corner of their dining area - even though we had ordered food (which the landlady grumbled over cooking). If you are staying at this site and have children then I would definitely avoid this pub.
However, we couldn't fault the campsite, and we will definitely return to Church Farm with our tent!

Well what can we say??, when we first arrived we wanted to be 'in there with them', what we mean by this is the part of the site beyond the electric barrier, however we were put in the top field where there is a mixture of Tents, Tourers and Camper Vans which turned out to be ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!, there is also 3x Static Caravans near the reception area.
We have to say this is our favourite site to date, we love it. Toilet and shower block is slightly basic but clean, tokens for the showers are 50p, they last for 6mins so the Missus and me just shared, job done. The village of Bishop Monkton is, in one word. Stunning, a lovely babbling brook with Ducks, a shop and two pubs (landlord in The Lamb & Flag a little grumpy but his Wife is one of the best cooks on the planet!) We are keen cyclists and the surrounding area is perfect for us, 20+ miles a day easily sourced with ample cycle routes to choose from. York, Ripon, Knaresbourough, Boroughbridge all close by. To sum up, An Excellent site, well worth a visit and from us, as they say on Ebay. 'Highly Recommended' Enjoy.

Just come back from a lovely long weekend here and really enjoyed it. The warden showed us to our large pitch, which was on a slight slope, didn't cause a problem though, we had EHU.
Had a card to get through the site barrier and key for showers. Showers are 50p each and you have to buy tokens from the warden, they last 6 mins and are lovely and hot. The toilet block is mixed use, and also one separate male/female toilet each, only had to queue once. Nice and big shower rooms, with toilet, shower and sink in each room, lots of hooks for clothes.
We had lovely day at ripley castle and the village around the castle had a pig fest, so the children had loads of fun there!
Really enjoyed our stay, weather was rubbish but still hada great time, and would go back
Site was lovely and quiet all day and night, no play area for the children but just out of the site a 5/10 minuute walk away is a lovely park. The village is beautiful, with 2 pubs and small village shop.

Just stayed at this site for 3 nights in a tent with two children aged 9 and 6. Was a little concerned that there was no play ground and the rule of 'no ball games' applied. Need not have worried.
The site is on the edge of a gorgeous village; 5 mins walk takes you to a lovely pub 'The Masons Arms' which serves lovely food and even duck food to feed the lovely ducks waddling around in the little stream running through the village.
There is a great shop and 2 play areas in the village. The site is lovely, small and quiet but for us that was perfect.
Visit 'Southgate Fish Shop' in Ripon - lovely. All in all a wonderful site which is good value. Would definitely re visit

Stayed here one night and site was quite full but very friendly warden who found us a pitch. Excellent position being so close to the 'hidden gem' that is Bishop Monkton.
2 pubs and very well stocked village shop. Had excellent meal at the pub at the end of the village.
Shame that the toilets on Site were so 'uncared for'. The tiled floors looked as though they hadn't had a good clean for weeks and just relied on leaving a mop in each shower for campers to mop up the wet.
Also the toilet cleaning left a lot to be desired.

Just spent 4 nights with ehu (only 6 amps) at this lovely site. On arrival we were given the toilet block key which cost £3 which is refunded when you hand it back in.
As we were in the outer field we didn't require the gate key which is I believe £7. Having read other reviews I purchased shower tokens (50p each) straight away to save any bother later.
It is just a five minute walk to the village which is very pretty with 2 pubs a shop and a stream running alongside the main street with lots of ducks. We never tried the pubs but others said the Masons Arms (the nearest one) was very good.
The warden is very friendly and helpful. Our only problem is with the toilet/shower block in that there are only 2 separate toilets to each sex and only two shower rooms although in saying that the shower rooms are very spacious with toilet, wash basin and mirror.
All in all this was only a minor gripe and even though at times there was a queue for the showers, if you time it right you'll not have a problem. This has not put us off and we would recommend this site.

Lovely small quiet campsite, just great for a weekend away from it all. Set on the edge of a lovely little village, 2 pubs both serving food and a small convenience store.
On arrival we had to go to the owners house as the warden wasn't about, very welcoming and paid £10 deposit for barrier card and key for showers. You need to purchase tokens for shower, 50p from warden or owner, plenty of room in showers for clothes and if you have children with you. Small park opposite the site with slide and swings.
Well worth a visit
