I found this a very pleasant little site, quiet, but that's how I like it. The owner was friendly both while booking and on arrival.
The toilet block was nice and clean and centrally located, with it being a small site it was only a 2 or 3 minute walk from any where on the site.
The washing up facilities were also good with plenty of surfaces and lots of hot water. It is only supposed to be used by tents so there should never be much of a wait.
The showers require tokens priced a £0.50 each, giving you approx 6 minutes of shower time. There are only two showers but they are based in family rooms with a toilet and sink so they are ideal for those people with kids. I didn't have to wait when I was there but in busy periods I would expect a queue.
There were signs up banning ball games etc, so energetic kids might struggle for entertainment. Dogs have to be kept on short leads while on site but there is a footpath over the fields directly from the site which would be good for exercising.
Its based on the edge of a lovely little village, with 2 pubs and a small village shop all within a 5 minute walk, on pavements, of the site entrance. Locals seem very friendly.
I enjoyed my stay and hope to be back again in the future.

We stayed at this site for a week during typical English summertime weather. We arrived on a wet Saturday to a very helpful welcome. Paul the warden was dealing with everything in a positive and enthusiastic manner. He pitched us down the bottom part of the site, showing us where best to pitch and park.
The pitch was level and fairly well drained (considering the amount of rain that had fallen)
There is no ball games allowed on the site, and with no playground either, my two boys were in danger of getting bored quickly. Luckily we had taken enough games and books to keep them entertained when they couldn't run about on the site.
The site does seem to have permanent pitches for caravans, and during the week we were about one of 5 families staying on the site. This meant there was never a queue for either the toilets, the showers or the washing up facilities. The showers operate off a token, which runs the shower for 6 minutes. These tokens can be bought from reception on a weekend, or at the owners house during the week. There is ice freezing facilities (they use a large freezer in the owners garage) but, you have to give your packs to the warden, or to Pauline the owner. They ask you to make a small donation for this service.
We used the site as a base to tour round parts of the nearby Dales, going into York etc - but always enjoyed the peace in the mornings. The Cows were very entertaining, and our boys enjoyed watching their antics.
All in all, a good clean, cheap site.
Just a couple of (slight) negatives;
1.It would have been nice to have hand driers/towels in the gents toilets.
2. The wardens dogs were in the reception awning area, which subsequently smelt of wet dog!
3. All Caravans were pitched up the top near the toilets, and maybe there should be some tent pitches near the top too.
Apart from these niggles, we did have a good time despite the weather.

This is a small attractive site serving tents, vans and a few statics based on the edge of a very pretty village. It is best suited to folk looking for some peace and quiet; there is no play area and there is a large sign at the entrance forbidding ball games even though there is a big empty grass area. Dogs are only allowed to be walked on a restricted area and not on the field.
Pitches are fine and the tent area is particularly nice backing on to fields. The shower / loo block is not well designed as it is mostly bathrooms and not separate toilets and showers, so at the weekend people were left waiting a bit. Best to shower later in the day; the 50p tokens last 6 minutes. There was a key system (£3 deposit) which seemed unnecessary and inconvenient for families.
The village is picturesque and friendly with nice pubs but seemed very anti-dog with lots of no fouling signs but we managed OK with our dog and found a nearby public footpath to walk her on. Overall it's a nice site and is good value at £13 / pitch and the area around has enough to spend a few days out and about.

Wonderful village, pretty, peaceful and all you need for a perfect relaxed weekend camping. The site was friendly, clean, well organised and quiet. Will certainly return. The local pubs are also well worth a visit and the village is well located for trips into Ripon / Harrogate and local areas.

This was our first camping trip and we decided to go to Church Farm Caravan Park as the previous reviews sounded perfect, quiet site etc and the site was only an hour's drive from our home. We really enjoyed our stay on the site, the warden was very friendly, the toilet block and facilities were clean and tidy and there never seemed to be a problem getting a shower or using the toilets etc. The site wasn't over busy and turned out to be perfect for us. The village Bishop Monkton which is over the road from the site, is quaint and there are some lovely stone cottages with a babbling stream which runs down the middle of the village, idyllic setting to get away from it all. There are two pubs in the village we ate at the Lamb and Flag which is at the end of the main street, owner very friendly and the food was lovely and reasonably priced. The other pub the Mason Arms was unfortunately closing down this weekend and had been let go and was run down, but I am sure when the new owners arrive it will be lovely, as it placed in a lovely spot with ducks on the stream, quite amusing watching them!

We stayed for just one night, as we had come up to the area to view a caravan (which we brought). Very peaceful clean site in lovely surroundings. Had views for the village church from our pitch. Owners very friendly and relaxed. Toilets ok. Village surroundings, very quaint. Lovely houses and nice pubs. Visited Knaresborough which again is a great place. Would definitely go back for a better look around.

Stayed here for the third time. The owner is very friendly, site isn't too level but its not a problem. Toilets clean (though I do find having a have a key to open them is a bit of a bind). The village is so pretty and we particularly like the 3 mile country walk into Ripon, and the nearby village of Burton Leonard is well worth a look (2 miles away). All in all a very nice stay, and we will return.

This is a lovely quiet site. No bars etc. Lovely warden who couldn't do enough to help, big tent pitch no problem. There is a small shower/toilet block on site which is very clean and has family shower rooms which take a token(50p). There is a small room to do handwash clothes. There is a sink for tenters to do washing up but it is outside but nice and clean. All rubbish can be separated for recycling. There is no playpark on site but there are two play parks within minutes of the site. The village is beautiful, with a small stream where you can feed the ducks. There are 2 pubs within walking distance, and a good local shop. There is a Morrisons, about 10 minutes away and a good local chippy. The wardens can tell you everything you need to know including menus for local takeaways. This site is not for you if you want lots of noise and entertainment, but was perfect for us. The kids loved it too.
