We chose this site as a stay over travelling back to the Midlands from Wales. We totally agree with other users that the prices are extortionate, the site is very well kept but very regimental, on arriving we were. Told to reverse in as all doors had to face the same way!
Shower area is spotless but there is no bench to place your belongings. I would not return to this site again, we were chatting to another camper who said that it cost him a lot of money after booking with all the extras. Including water and awning per night.
Plus the pool was freezing although the receptionist said it was 28 degrees!

Very convenient for touring and visiting local places of interest. Beautiful site, immaculately kept. Very welcoming and accommodating. Lovely large, level pads with plenty of space between. Facilities great and well equipped. A great place to stay for a night or for a while. Clearly the owners take great pride in what they have. Love it.

Just returned from our Easter break at Beaconsfield. Adult only is bliss!
Shocked to see negative reviews on here. Stayed on a fully serviced hard standing near the lake and it was idyllic!
The swimming pool and steam room was ideal as I am used to having my morning swim! It also meant that I could eat a guilt free pudding in the restaurant! The food there is excellent, my husband has travelled and eaten all over and said it was the best Fillet steak he had ever eaten. It isn't cheap. But with the quality of food and service it was more than worth it.
Used the free wi-fi in the coffee shop and found all the grounds and toilet block to be immaculate
There's a nice pub called the new inn in the village, worth popping in to.
We had a perfect break and I know that we will be becoming regulars, any excuse to return for a steak!

This site has left us very disappointed. As others have said, tourer's feel a bit exploited. One of the big considerations for booking was the 'heated' swimming pool and steamroom. The pool was £3. 00 and it was too cold. £6.00 per day is too expensive. We went in and I was surprised at the price but we paid. We where soon out when I couldn't feel my feet. We went to the steam room which hadn't been turned on. My husband had to walk round dripping wet to find someone, he did turn it on and said it would take 7 minuets to warm up so we should go back in the pool. ! Instead, in an attempt to get warm we stood under the shower.
The disabled shower room did not have any heating on. I asked if it could be on as my Mother has severe arthritis and could not get cold they said yes we agreed a time and it didn't happen. I had to rush an elderly disabled lady as it was too cold. The wash basin and the hand drier are opposite sides of the room. Impossible for a person in a wheelchair. Shower chair was ideal but no where l to hang the towel for when you get out
The restaurant seemed a bit too pricey so we didn't go in so we can't comment on that.
The New Inn pub a mile away is an old fashioned local but the Sunday Lunch was amazing.
The washing up room was locked on Monday morning and by 9am there was a queue of 4 bowls outside.
Overall we won't be going back

Had a three night stay at Beaconsfield in order to visit Shrewsbury and surroundings before moving down to another site near Ludlow.
We booked with an open mind, aware of some of the less than glowing reviews on UKCampsite.co.uk.
The site was clearly very well maintained, with a lot of open aspects to our fully serviced pitch.
We found ourselves quite a distance from the very plush toilet / shower block and lamented the fact that we hadn't brought our bicycles, when we noticed on the site rules that cycling was prohibited.
Also on the sheet, we noted that we had been charged a £2. 50 fee for using a credit card to pay the £48 balance on arrival, the keys to the toilet block were subject to a £2 deposit each, day visitors were charged £3, swimming pool use was charged at £3 per person, per use and extended departures to 5pm (if available) would be charged £5.
Sadly, but unavoidably, this gave the impression that touring visitors were to be exploited to the full.
As a consequence, I doubt we would be rushing back in the near future.
We did not visit the restaurant on site, as opening times aside, we were of an opinion that the prices were a little high.
There were no pubs within a reasonable walking distance, however we found the 'Two Henrys' off the A49 roundabout to be quite nice. Park and Ride close by with retail park next door.
Upper Battlefield visitor centre and Farm Shop worth a look around.

We chose this site as it advertised an indoor pool (great for the time of year we were going!), it had a restaurant on site and site was adults only.
We were 'upgraded' to hard standing at no extra cost due to waterlogged ground conditions.
Disappointed on arrival to find pool was £3pp each time of use! Husband had thought he might have an early am swim each day - not at that price! Pool has very limited opening times.
Shower block was key only admission and we had to pay for 2nd key (this was refunded on departure) but annoying. Shower block was spotless. I thought might be stretched in high season.
Restaurant was expensive, no cards accepted, again limited opening times so we didn't use it. Other site users said it was good. (Apparently run by owner's daughter. )
Would agree with other reviewers that site caters obviously for its static owners/users.
Site is expensive for what it offers.

We visited Beaconsfield for a weekend break and all in all it was fine. The park itself is immaculate and very well kept with lovely facilities such as a pool and steam room. The toilets were lovely and clean.
Downsides
When I tried to book I telephoned around 6. 45 and someone answered the phone, I made my enquiry and was told I needed to call back as 'they weren't really in the office' considering when we were there the park was very quiet, I would have expected them to take a call and booking with eagerness.
Don't expect a lovely local pub, we were directed to the New Inn which was like sitting in an old fashioned 'tap room' then some children arrived and were in and out behind the bar and climbing on stools, not great.
There appears to be a lovely restaurant on site but it is fairly expensive and there is a sign up saying they do not accept credit or debit cards. It would be lovely also to see some special offers on there, early bird dining etc.
The pool was lovely but you have to let them know 10 mins before you want to go in the steam room so they can switch it on. Not great as the room gets full of steam but the seating is freezing cold and takes ages to feel any benefit.
The toilets were fine but the showers were not warm enough and I have read this in other reviews saying the same. I don't mind the push buttons but this means the showers need to be a good temp as when they switch off lots you get cold quickly as you don't build up the same level of steam. They are too cold to enjoy.
Overall we were satisfied but think there could be a few bits of improvements.

Just returned from a 3 day holiday, this is our second visit and can say that we were a little disappointed this visit. Firstly when we arrived we were informed that minimum age is now 25 and not 21 as previously, although they did allow our 21 year old son to stay with a warning of any trouble and your out said half jokingly. We pitched beside the lake which was ok. Thought it was a little expensive for what it has on site 81 pounds for 3 nights. We mainly went for OH and son to fish who were disappointed that you can now only fish on one lake and to be perfectly honest there was no good fish in that lake but we were not told about either of these things when I booked. We went to the swimming pool which was 3pounds per person and the fishing is 5pounds per rod per person. Pool was a bit slimy on the bottom. We got the feeling that static caravans were now better catered for. Restaurant was not open so we did not get a chance to try it this time. We thought we have found a brilliant site in this area on our last visit but sadly we have changed our mind and will not be returning.

On arrival at the site, we received a friendly greeting and were escorted to our pitch, which was fully serviced. We were asked to back the caravan in. Behind the caravan, there was a beautiful open view, but unfortunately, the front of the caravan faced North, immediately onto the road around the site and a fairly tall hedge. I did see about 6 south facing pitches which had a beautiful view over the lake, but these were seasonal pitches, so do not expect to have a view of the lake from your caravan.
The site, in my opinion, is a beautiful area, but it would not appear to have been laid out by a seasoned caravanner, as the best views are mostly either behind the caravan, or obstructed by other units.
The toilet/shower facilities were clean and pleasant, however, the water in the Gents showers was not very hot.
For the price of this site, I expected more of a 'wow factor'. £165.00 for 5 nights, 2 adults, caravan and awning,on a fully serviced pitch. Our 2 visitors were charged £3.00 each as day visitors, even though they were only there for about an hour.
The nearby town of Ludlow is well worth a visit. There are 2 National Trust properties nearby, Attingham, and Powys Castle - both worth a visit

This is a massive site which caters for tourers, has extensive static caravans, chalets and pine lodges. So you would think there would be a site shop. Wrong !
As an adult only site also a clubroom would be nice.
It has in fairness a rather posh restaurant which gave me the impression that the owners somehow are trying to cater for clientèle more accustomed to frequenting The Ritz, not campers.
It is up to the usual standard for 'Best of British' sites, very clean, immaculately kept and set round a small lake.
The area has superb scenery and there are lots of interesting places to visit locally, including the Aircraft Museum, steam railway, Ironbridge Gorge museums, and of course the Blists Hill Victorian centre.
Just down the road is a recently developed farm shop outlet which incorporates a Falconry centre and cafe and is well worth a visit.
The nearest pub in the village only seems to open when the landlord feels like it, but up the lane from the site, about 1 mile away is another which serves good food and has some real ales as well.
To summarise this is a cracking area to visit but the site has not got that friendly feeling of camping you would expect.
