Just returned from a long weekend camping trip and had a fantastic time. We had 2 6man tents for 9 of us, 4 adults and 5 kids ranging from 4-13. We all really enjoyed our weekend.
The campsite is basic but had everything we felt was necessary. It had a great play area which the kids loved and the toilets/showers facilities were quite good. The only downfall was one of the toilets ran out of toilet roll on Saturday morning and had still not been replenished when we left today (Monday). There was a cleaner in daily so unsure how this was missed.
There was a sink outside which looked as though you could use it to do dishes however the taps and drainer weren't connected so we had to rinse through our dishes in the toilets.
We managed to find the town centre quite easily and Asda. The beach wasn't to far away either and enjoyed a day out there.
As I say all in all it was a great break away and would definitely return :)

We first went to this site a few years ago and we're amazed by the transformation. The toilets were spotless and the site was very clean and tidy.
The pub itself was decorated to a very high standard and the staff went out of there way to please.
The food in the restaurant was excellent and very reasonably price and we received high class service from the moment we checked it.
We can't recommend this site enough and along with another couple we met there we intend to return at least once this year and have already booked for November.

We visited this site after reading previous reviews, which were a little misleading, the site is a pub based site on a main road, approx. 4 mile outside Berwick on Tweed.
There is quite a lot of road noise at all hours being on a main road so try to pitch away from the hedges next to the road for a quieter night. Also if the hedges were cut at the field side of the site this would improve the views to the surrounding area. The pub has been recently refurbished with a new play area for kids, but both the food and the drinks are not up to standard so beware.
Site facilities are very basic with both site and toilets in much need of a overhaul. The touring pitches are on a grassed area at the far end of the site through a number of older statics adding to the run down look of the site.
Would not visit again.

The site was pretty much as described by other recent reviews, basic but reasonably clean. One of the two female toilets was out of order and there was no clearly labelled source of drinking water. We used a tap on the side of the toilet block but there was an unpleasant taste to it. There are no pan washing facilities. The main issue I would make others aware of is the noise of traffic throughout the day and night as the campsite is on the side of the main road between Berwick and Coldstream.

Stayed on this site for a couple of days over the weekend. We had a fantastic time, we were greeted by the owners. Lovely little pub, apparently the meals are beautiful, showers were fine nice and clean but could maybe do with a update. Little bit disappointed there was no where to wash our pots and pans.
There was a large family on with children, little bit noisy but who cares they were young, and they enjoyed them selves so they were no problem to us at all. They were very clean and tidy.
Overall the site is well kept.

We spent the bank holiday weekend here. Great reception on arrival. Good pitch. Basic but adequate facilities. Lovely pub. Great food.
You share the site with a small number of very well kept and maintained static vans. Location is great and views stunning.
A large family group were camping while we there, and they were great fun. Lively and gregarious but really nice friendly folk with all ages represented.
Will definitely be returning

We arrived Friday night for our first camping trip
Greeted with a warm welcome, site was clean an had everything that was needed.
Toilet/shower block were clean and but could have done with a few improvements.
The pub itself was really nice and homely, with friendly team members, we tried the food on the Friday and it was that good we ate there on the Saturday night, would even go as far to say would travel there just to be fed.
Great weekend hope to return again soon.

What a super welcome at the Salutation Inn. Its a bit far away from Berwick, but worth the drive for a peaceful, small and welcoming site.
The facilities are good, with hot showers and clean toilets etc.
There's a nice friendly pub on the site and they made us most welcome. The food was good value for money and tasty.
The only downside was that it was close to a road, but it wasn't very busy.
I would recommend them most highly.

Stayed here for 3 nights. The showers worked fine but the owners had to be reminded to refresh soap and paper towels for the hand basins. We suggested some improvements while we were there. One of the men's showers was a bit erratic.
The hookups worked fine. There was a chemical disposal point - next to the men's shower side just not labelled! No pot washing facilities as reported by others.
They need to get better at mowing the grass in the tent and touring area, this would also make it better for children to play.
The pub is open from 11 to 11 which is a pleasant novelty in the area, meals are OK for the price.
Phil and Rose who are running it are very pleasant.
The site is well positioned for touring this area of Northumberland and pleasanter in our view than being on a large site full of statics.

We arrived at the campsite on Saturday 2nd June booked in and paid the deposit for the swipe card for access. At no time were we told where our pitch was, that was mainly because the pitches were not marked. We had to find our own EHU and in some cases the tents were pitched virtually on top of each other. The EHU didn't work because it had the wrong fuses in (which were replaced by the electrician later the following day).
There was no toilet rolls so people reverted to using hand towels or buying their own. The showers hardly worked, and at one stage failed altogether. There was no pan wash or toilet dispenser for chemical waste.
We would return to the site if the problems were addressed because it could be a nice quiet little getaway.
