A group of about 27, adults and kids, camped at the Salutation Inn and we had a great time! Arrived midday Friday 11th May and departed Sunday, 13th.
There were no complaints about showers or toilets. The EHU worked perfectly and we were able to use lights in a party tent where we all gathered before heading off for a warm and welcoming reception from Rose and the bar staff in the pub.
Over the weekend we ate a few meals in the pub too and they were very enjoyable. On the Saturday evening Rose had kindly organised a band for entertainment and even went as far as laying on a free buffet. Thank you so much!
Thank you to all who looked after us over the weekend. We had a great time and will be back.
All in all this campsite suited us perfectly and we would and do recommend it.

Lone traveller with dog. Stayed one night late in August 2011. Staff were very helpful and friendly - food at pub good. Locals use pub and are also very friendly.
Site is beside a road but this did not prove to be too much of a problem. Dog walk on edge of site. Toilets and showers basic but clean and functional.
Electric hook up and water point on site. Entrance has a barrier operated by swipe card - need £20 deposit against return of card so don't lose it.
There are no other shops, pubs or attractions within walking distance. Great site for an overnight stop on a longer journey. Could use it as a base if touring in this area with transport to get around.
Would definitely use site again.

We have just spent 5 nights here in the little field at the back of the beer garden. We were not to keen to book at first, as we thought it might be to noisy, being out the back of the beer garden, but we were assured it was ok, and it was spot on!
There were 7 adults and 4 children in our group, staying in a large tourer caravan with awning, and a very large tent, the price of our pitches are the cheapest we have ever paid!
The toilet and showers were sound, and no queues!
The pub has been renovated recently, and is very nice, serving very nice food at reasonable prices.
The location is spot on for visits to Holy island, bamburgh, berwick and lots of local castles and attractions.
Last but not least! all the staff were very helpful, welcoming, and easy to approach.
we will look forward to another visit soon

Arrived late as on cycling tour. Nice flat pitch for tents with option of EHU. Statics closer to inn but not loads of them.
Staff in pub friendly. Nice crowd. Facilities OK. Perhaps could have done with a bit more of a thorough clean. And shower door didn't close properly.
For me this was fine for one night. Or even a couple of nights but being so close to a busy road would mean I wouldn't want to stay longer.
Also, there is no real view. Great selection of real ale in the inn and looked like a good menu though we didn't eat.

Stayed on this site for two nights in August over the bank holiday. Yes, the toilets need updating, but they were clean and functional.
Plenty of room between pitches and electric hook up available. Great location for touring the area. Berwick (well worth a visit) is only a few miles away and The Holy Island is about twenty minutes away.
Would happily have stayed longer had time allowed. The owners in the pub were very helpful and friendly, we didn't try the food, but heard from other campers that it was very good.
Will visit again, free use of campsites bbq's a nice touch.

Just return from a 5 days stay The owners were very friendly. Staff were friendly and couldn't do enough for you. Shower/toilet block could be lot ceaner if they are check regularly.
We will return because the owners and staff will always try and make your stay the best they can
Try the food, all home make cooking by the owner, he very proud of this.
Hope the owner lady get her way and have a small shop for customers to by basic food like milk eggs bacon bread etc, this will help the tent campers a lot

Just came back for having a couple of days here. We enjoyed our time here and will be going back. Being on the site and talking to the owner, this site is work in progress. Our party was two adult and two teenagers. The boys said there wasn`t much for them to do. As for us, we wanted a chill couple of days, so this was right up our street.
Pitches were fine. If you want electric hook up, make sure your lead is long as the electric points are well spread out. We ended up borrowing the owners extension.
Toilets and showers were clean but do need a bit of a spring clean due to damp etc. Men's toilets had two showers, two urinals but only one toilet. Best to be the first one there in the morning to beat the rush. Also, the toilet block is at one end of the site and the tent pitch at the other. Not a long walk but it was when it was raining. There is no area for the washing of pots and pans.
Well lit on a night time and very quiet apart from the road noise. Not a busy road, but you knew when a car or lorry was coming.
Pub was great. Good selection of food and drink with reasonable prices. Beer garden to the rear and again talking to the owner, a kids area, swings etc, was going in as soon as he could.
Site is well placed to be used as a base for days out with Berwick just down the road and loads of places dotted up and down the coast and more in land.
So, overall good but it's not quite there.

We found this site from this website and it was a great location for what we had planned.
Berwick is only 10 mins drive away and has all the big supermarkets, plenty of takeaways and a small range of shops.
We walked the walls of Berwick and visited Alnwick castle & gardens on a two day ticket, a great family day out.
We travelled the coast route from North Berwick down to Amble and enjoyed fish & chips at seahouses and fresh crab & kippers from the Craster smokerery.
We usually choose smaller van sites and were pleased that we were able to get a booking at the Salutation Inn, however - we were sorely disappointed! The shower/toilet block was awful.
They were unfinished dirty & smelly, the showers were dirty and there were no cleaning materials supplied. No loo roll or soap - need I go on! There is not enough toilets/showers for the site when full as we discovered on our last night and when leaving on Sunday morning there was no-one to hand our gate pass to (& collect the £20 deposit from!) and to top it all off we had our first ever theft from a site, some numpty stole the top of our aquaroll.
If you are looking for the wifi connection - we were too but told that it only worked in the pub - strange, but we weren't given the key code to try, other campers said the same.
This site could be great and charge a bit more if a bit of thought and time were injected

This was a fantastic find.
We were let down by the campsite we were booked into and found this wee campsite. It was nice to see a campsite that charges on the size of your tent and not who you have with you dogs ect.
Facilities are good, toilets and showers are small but clean (only thing I would have likes was a hairdryer in the toilets but you cant have everything). It was a bonus to have a pub on site that does meals.
Staff were relay friendly and couldn't do enough for you and booked us in with no problems at very short notice.
It does say there is a kids playground (its a trampoline) but I'm sure its a work in progress.
We enjoyed this campsite so much we are going back down in 2 weeks for the night.
