This was our second visit in as many weeks.
Nice quiet site with about a dozen tents and a full complement of caravans etc.
Found all the staff very helpful on the phone when booking and on arrival.
The shower block was clean and everything was working.
The park it's self was fantastic especially for our 3 year old. Lots of free things to do. The other privately owned activities were reasonably priced.
Just a great site close to one if the most beautiful parts of the world.
10/10.

Just return from a weekend stay, the site has about 30 pitches and during the couple of nights we stayed it was fully booked. The pitches are good. However very tightly crammed in. Every time our neighbours were coming out of there awning it felt like they were getting into our car, that how close you are.
The facilities is in the toilet block were good but very dirty, on every occasion I used them, so I am not sure what the cleaning cycle is. This was very disappointing as everything else was good. Noise on the site at night was quite loud most nights but didn't stop me sleeping but may be a hindrance to others.
Most pitches are off the level so you will need to bring levelling ramps, I noticed a few which seemed ok but our slopped very badly from right to left looking out of the pitch.
I was also very disappointed we with staff at check in, I was given no details about the site or any direction/instruction after I explained I had never stayed there before. However I guess this is what you get when it is not a privately run site but a council one, where is it just a job at the end of the day.
All in all a good site with a couple of disappointments but it didn't ruin the holiday.

Excellent stopover point for the Larne ferry, good location with lovely views over the Antrim coast. Site accessible with key fob (£10 deposit) to open gates. All pitches have hook up and water. Good amenity block accessed with a key fob. Set in a country park with a visitor centre and café, trails and a play park. Plenty of information in amenity block on local restaurants, bars, supermarkets, etc.

First time to Carnfunnock and after all the recent rain had a very enjoyable couple of days camping.
The location was perfect, plenty of interesting activities for all tastes, toilet block facilities clean but better hairdrying facilities required. Could also improve on drainage system.
During the summer season it would be better for shop and activities to remain open until at least 9pm instead of closing at 6pm. As we have young children we prefer to remain on campsite in the evenings so did not visit pubs etc.
Overall we had a really enjoyable few days and are returning on 30/7 for another few days. First time camping and after doing Spain etc its the holiday for us.

We stayed for one night and had a fantastic stay at Carnfunnock.
There are great facilities. There is a bath as well as showers. The facilities seem modern. It is a small friendly park. Security was good. There are not a lot of pitches for tents but they only allow 8 at any one time.
Great value too compared to a lot of campsites. Lots to do for the kids - and walks around the park area. I would definitely recommend it and we will be back there again.

We only stayed one night and found the site in passing. The park is beautiful and the paths, gardens and activities provide plenty of interest. There are lovely views across to Scotland from some parts but no views from the caravan park.
The double slabs of concrete with the service point in the middle, designed presumably for a caravan and car, were really annoying as we had to exit the motorhome onto the muddy grass area and were getting no benefit from the second slab of concrete.
We noticed the difficulty a couple of caravans had turning into the pitches without hitting the service point. It feels as if it has been designed on a piece of paper by someone who has measured a caravan and a motorhome but never tried to drive or camp in one.
The toilet facilities were clean, but the sign-off sheet for cleaners to show check times and jobs completed was pure fiction. This site could be as wonderful as the rest of the park with some money and work spent on it.

This was our 4th holiday at Carnfunnock, we use it as a base for visiting relatives.
We chose to set up on the right with the tents as there is usually a good atmosphere.
The toilet facilities are kept to an acceptable standard.
The reception staff are as always very helpful.
The staff at Larne tourist information (Adele)were also very helpful with our booking.
For us you just can't beet the location we sat out at 10.30pm looking out over the sea there wasn't a sound apart from the night life, an ideal chill out location.

This was our second stay at Carnfunnock. This is one of the nicest touring sites in N.Ireland. It is situated about 3 miles outside of the port town of Larne on the beautiful Antrim Coast Road.
It is part of a Council run country park which in itself is lovely with nice walks, a superb children's play ground with activities suitable for children from 2 to 12.
The caravan site itself is relatively small, with all pitches being fully serviced and hardstanding with a hard area for your car as well as the Caravan. The toilets and showers are clean and modern (if somewhat weirdly labelled changing rooms).
The only problem is with this being Council run. Out of main season you have to arrive by 5.30pm to check in to get the magnetic key for the caravan site, which is a tad inconvenient for someone who is not retired or unemployed. I think that in high season the park visitor centre stays open to 9pm.

We stayed for a week in August. This was our first time and was on the recommendation of a number of other caravanners.
We were pleased with some aspects, yet very disappointed with others.
Carnfunnock Park itself is fantastic. The playpark is like nothing I've ever seen before - absolutely brilliant. The gardens and park also are great for walks and exploring.
The touring site however is however not so good. The often mentioned stupid place for entry system to be placed (on the passenger side of the car) is just the start of the problems. The pitches are concrete - but, why go to the bother of concrete and not level them? I must admit, out of all the sites we staying on this year, it was the one we had most trouble getting level on. Also, the awning area was very muddy.
However, what really disappointed us (and everyone else we talked to that week) was the toilet block. It's small and dirty, and the showers were not clean.
The problems can in a sense be overlooked because of the facilities on offer in the whole park, but they do leave a bad taste in the mouth.

Stayed here for one night while touring the Causeway, we had to stay on what they referred to as the emergency pitch in the centre of the site on a roundabout. The site and facilities is all very clean and functional but just seemed a bit clinical for me. Considering the lovely gardens and landscaping throughout the park it seems a shame they chose not to do any at all for the camping site - not so much as a bush to break-up the concrete and grass between pitches.
But like I said it is just aesthetics really faultless in all other ways.
