A little gem of a site, very accommodating site warden, delivery van for essentials every morning. Spotless toilets and nice ice cream! Steep walk into town and maybe a taxi back, but the view form the campsite is stupendous.
Sites without power tended to be 'on the slosh' but power with hard standing were fine.
Minehead has good facilities, a decent full size heritage railway, plenty of eating houses and all the usual shops. For a North Devon tour can't be a better site. But take care with the drive up the hill follow the instructions.

We were touring the area and spotted this site online. We tried to book on the C&CC website but were told there was a two night minimum. Undeterred, we phoned direct to be told they had 30 pitches!
This is a great little site with amazing views (not from all pitches) and fantastic walks on the adjacent heathland. The site itself is compact and friendly with decent shower facilities. Apparently someone comes around every morning with provisions but we were already on the heath by then.
Minehead is just a short drive sway with its supermarkets and shops. We visited Blue Anchor, just a few miles up the coast and parked up for free close to the heritage railway station.
If you do visit this site you're warned not to set Satnav too early but to wait until you're on the seafront at Minehead.

Really nice site with fantastic views over Minehead and the Bristol Channel. A sloping site, so be warned but everything good - toilet/washblock very clean and pleasant with good showers. A bit hard to find so take extra care and don't get lost like we did. Close to many walks on Exmoor as well - a lovely area.

A little gem! Lovely views of minehead and the bay with a bonus of watching the steam trains. A steep hill to walk up but some old thatched cottages to look at and of course the wonderful views. The site is extremely friendly. Keith was funny and helpful as was his sidekick. Shower and wash up areas were clean and functional and free! Even a washing line for public use. Take pegs! A washing machine and dryer were £3 and 20p or multiple for dryer. Small shop for essentials and a mobile shop comes at 9. 39 am selling papers, milk etc. Plenty of woodland walks around the site. I shall be returning. All this for 5. 85 per night for a lone hiker who spent 3 days instead of the 1 planned.

An absolutely lovely site which benefits from having the ever friendly manager Keith at the helm !
This chaps attitude towards his guests is truly refreshing as was his his constant smile. This site benefits from being atop of the hill overlooking Minehead Bay and although a strenuous trek into town this was compensated by the absolutely gorgeous old buildings and cottages to be seen along the way. If you want to stay somewhere really special then stay on this site, Keith will be there to greet you. Thanks mate !

Exe Valley Caravan Site - Exmoor
This award winning Adults Only campsite has a working 17th century watermill in a peaceful wooded valley within the Exmoor National Park. Grass and hardstanding pitches, all set beside the River Exe or the sparkling mill stream, with electric, water, drainage, and TV hook-ups. A leisurely stroll up to a weir, and an area where dogs may run free and splash in the river.
Facilities include the beautiful dog walk, free wifi, fishing, modern toilet and shower block, dog wash, working watermill (tours on most Sunday mornings), salmon pass on the weir, shop, bus service, and excellent pubs in the locality. The site has beautiful views, an abundance of wildlife and many footpaths leading directly to the Exmoor woodlands and rivers. Find out more here

We had a week at this site. A great location, don't let the fact it is up a steep hill put you off.
We walked our dog across exmoor on so many paths. It was beautiful and so peaceful. Be aware of ticks though. We bought a tick puller from a local chemist. There are paths into Minehead from the back of the site. You can get a taxi back if necessary.
Great views but you are on a hill. We had to use our chocks to get level. We were on hardstanding but those on grass were on a real slope. One tent moved position after their first night as they kept falling off their airbed!
The site was never busy, the managers said that the hill put so many off. The facilities were old but very clean. The only thing I didn't like was the managers, although very friendly, could often be seen smoking outside the site shop or as they were cutting the grass. I just don't think it is professional but just my opinion.
Would we go back? Probably not as no kids play area and no ball games allowed. Shame really but not that suited to families. So peaceful we felt we had to keep telling our son to be quiet.
Loads of things to do in the area. But don't tell everyone as it would be a shame to spoil it!

Stayed 3 nights at end of May. Definitely need chocks as quite severe incline in parts. But compensated for by wonderful views of Minehead Bay.
Small shop at reception for essentials. Friendly owners.
The Ladies (and I believe Gents) has 5 toilets, 3 showers and 4 sinks. Absolutely immaculate even though not a new block. Like the poster said: 'So clean you think you're at home' All water very, very hot and unlimited.
Two washing up sinks - again spotless, with non stop hot water.
Very steep climb to get there but would definitely return.

Fantastic little site with lovely sea views. The site managers were really nice and very helpful. Toilets and showers very clean with plenty of hot water. Lovely walk into Minehead through the woods and loads to do. Blue Anchor and Watchet well worth a visit. You can walk back from Blue Anchor along the coastal path and also walk to porlock. We walked back to the site one day from the harbour following the signs to the beacon and were rewarded with fantastic sea views. We would thoroughly recommend this site nice and peaceful with lots of wildlife to see including red deer and exmoor ponies. The moors are right opposite the site so would be fantastic for dog owners

Had a great few days here, site is clean but on a bit of a slope. Very quiet, we ready like it here, most campers are great. Overall we had a great time. Cant wait to back there, the kids love this site for the walks and wildlife, which is great for 4 boys who like to run wild at times.
Nice town (Minehead) 45 mins walk, best get taxis back up, great times walking. Lots of places to go as well

Well I think this is a wonderful site. It's small, quiet and quite basic but has the most amazing views.
Practically it is a steep drive to the site but easily manageable if you check out the route beforehand. Pitches aren't level but that just adds to the fun (it is on a hill). All the wardens have done a fantastic job, the toilet block although small and dated is spotless. (3 showers, 5 loos in the ladies)
Walk out of the site and you'll encounter, Red deer, ponies and adders and the most fantastic scenery and walking you could ever want.
The site is very quiet and I hope it remains this way, can't wait to return.
