We have stayed at this site a couple of times now and really like it.
It is located in a peaceful rural setting but is convenient both for the town and for walking on the neighbouring moorland - ideal if you have a dog!
Despite being located in a high position above the town it is well sheltered and even in heavy rain drains very quickly hence no flooded pitches.
The facilities were always clean and well maintained but it's a shame they don't have an alternative toilet facility for use when the main block is being cleaned.
The site does slope in most places so during busy periods you may well end up on quite a sloping pitch which although not ideal is manageable with a bit of improvisation.
The area is very scenic and the town offers all the usual seaside attractions, while the West Somerset Railway provides the opportunity to leave the car behind and enjoy the nearby seaside towns and villages and the beautiful Somerset countryside.
A great site enhanced by the fact there are no caravans, nothing against them as such but tents and caravans don't mix well in my experience!

We spent 2 nights at this site. The Wardens Derek and Christine were very friendly and helpful. We had a quite large hard standing with electric hookup. The showers and toilet block was kept very clean. It was not far from Minehead, and we did walk there, the walk back was very steep and hard work. There is a large moor area opposite the site, ideal for walking the dog. Will certainly visit again next year.

Just spent a 'wet' week here. The toilet/shower block was incredibly clean given the ground conditions. The managers were lovely, as were the relief managers. Views spectacular from our tent. Only downside was that the ground slopes quite a lot and the children kept rolling on top of each other! There also aren't many electric hook-ups on this site. Take some heavy duty pegs with you too because the ground is quite stoney and you will probably bend loads!
There isn't a children's playground on this site, but there was plenty of room for the children to run around - don't know how this would be if the site was full though. There is a site shop selling gas and essentials i.e. Milk, butter, eggs, bacon etc.
You can walk into Minehead from the site, but it would be a steep walk back up! We didn't have that luxury as we have a disabled child, so the car got used every day. Minehead beach is very nice (did get one day there). The town has a nice selection of shops, pubs and restaurants. There is also a large Tescos near Butlins which is easy to get to.
Would go back, but probably not until we have a trailer tent.

This is a great site, the views are perfect, the walks perfect through the woods and a very clean site. The toilet / shower block again is very clean and handy to reach from any part of the site. However, the staff were a little confused with their measurements. We went with a group of 4 tents - Being told that we needed to be 6 feet apart from each tent. Once we had pitched there were no problems as we set up camp-village between us. The owner, who had 'friendly' written on his coat (suppose if it says friendly on your coat does not attribute you to being friendly) said that we needed to be over 6 meters apart, and he was quite tormented by this ordeal. Nevermind, I suppose being a Camping and Caravaning site, they have to be a bit strict, this is not a laid back site like some I have been to. I would recommend it though, perhaps Mr Friendly was just having a bad day and mixed his feet and meters up!

Booked for 7 nights ended up staying 9 nights. lovely quiet site even though it was august and the school holidays. site is quite sloping and ground is hard ended up bending quite a lot of tent pegs. but the view made up for this. toilets and facility block was kept nice and clean. its a 30 minute down hill walk through the woods to minehead town with a good variety of shops. Will definitely return .

Stayed here for 2 nights as our first stop. Very nice site, quite small but very clean and tidy. About 25-30 mins walk to minehead through the woods. Easy to get lost in the lanes on the hill leading up to the site! very nice location on top of hill, would recommend.

Very sheltered which is good because Minehead is quite windy. Campsite extremely clean. Facilities excellent including tumble dryer (very useful for wet towels). Many pitches on slopes but if you were to go when it's not so busy you could find a good pitch. Nice and quiet. Lovely sea view. Nice woodland walks from campsite although very hilly. If you are taking a dog, beware. Some of our neighbouring campers' dogs got sheep ticks, a common problem in this area.

May Bank Holiday 2004 Lovely little (60 pitches) site at the top of North Hill over looking Minehead and the bay. No caravans as road up has too many sharp turns.
£11 per night for two adults and a car (non-members).
Friendly couple running site who keep it nice and clean.
Not busy (managed to find space on Sat morning of Bank holiday weekend.
Pitches are slightly sloping in places but sheltered by trees round site. Because of trees not all pitches have sea views.
As a CCC site the toilets are kept clean and tidy. Only 2 male showers in action while we were there but that did not seem to be a problem and I only had to wait a couple of mins (at peak time in the morning). Plenty of free hot water for showers.
Would definitely visit again.
