We have just returned from our first camp at Tallington Lakes and must admit it really was good value for a long weekend. We wanted a local site to trial run our gear in an authentic environment and prepare for our holiday in August.
The pitches are generous in size and I would suggest some kind of ant and flying insect deterrent.
The pool is nice and clean and very busy too. The sessions you have to pay for both morning and afternoon separate. They're issued on first come first served basis.
The bar area is tidy and the staff are nice there too.
The playground is sanded and gets every where. Shower block and toilets are a little dated and could do with a revamp as the hot water was not flowing or hot
Site is situated just off the East Coast Mainline and is noticable. But living 5 mile away I already knew this when booking. Overall its a great price and a good base to explore in the local towns of Market Deeping and Stamford.
Would I go again? Certainly

We booked into the Tallington lakes site, friendly helpful staff. We met up with some friends who had children and a dog which were all very well catered for. The site is well laid out and the people very friendly and helpful.
There is a nice pool on site (although the weather meant we did not use it) and a good club house with pliantly of food options for all, children were welcome inside but not at the bar.
The toilets and showers were quite old but kept clean, but there were only about 6 caravans/tents and motorhomes on the site, I cant see how they can cope with so few toilets and showers when they are busy. But what value this place is, it worked out at £10 per night for our motorhome.
Terrific value. Well done.

We stayed there last weekend and have mixed feelings about the site. It had a pleasant layout and the site was clean and we liked the cabins round the lakes and the swimming pool looked very enticing.
You can also do a lot of different water sports too. On the down side there were a lot of children playing with footballs on the grass near where we were parked and our van got hit a few times.
Also the other half said the mens toilets weren't very clean and one of them remained blocked all weekend without a sign on it.
We mentioned it to reception as we left and they didn't seem to know anything about it.
I wouldn't say we wouldn't go back but think we would request a quieter part of the park.

Just back from a two night break at Tallington Lakes.
We rang and booked on the day we travelled, had originally booked elsewhere but needed to make a late change of plans.
Really helpful staff, both when calling and when arriving to book in.
We had a hard standing pitch for our campervan, eriba puck and awning with electric hook up. Thought the rate was fantastic value.
The toilet blocks where close by, very clean and a fault we reported was fixed straight away.
There is the option of various water sports at Tallington and we tried Kayaking, Zorbing and evenwater Skiing!
The pool area looked very good, although we didn't use, we had the Sunday Carvery and thought it very good value and had a chat with the Chef.
Tallington is only an hour away for us, offers great value, was clean, quiet and offered great activities for our children ( 11 & 15). We will definitely go back again.
Only recommendation would be for there to be a shop, we always a forget something and there is nowhere on site to get supplies.

I feel that a price £33 per night is a premium price so I expect top quality campsite, which with the very attractive website gave the impression that this site would live up to. We were disappointed.
The site was very tired and worn in areas, which then encourages people not to respect the site by keeping it tidy.
There was no presence of a warden so noise level went on till midnight.
Not enough showers at one time my husband walked away from a queue of 5 people and the campsite was not full.
There was not concessions for the pool for those staying on the site.
I personally feel the hype of the website and price caused our disappointment to us and our friends who also stayed.

I have just returned from Tallington where we stayed for four nights with our son, aged 14. The pitch we had was excellent and spacious(hard standing) and the water, etc, reasonably closeby. I did not use the toilet block as we have our own facilities but my husband did and he found it dirty on account of the unhygienic behaviour of a camper there.
The bar is lovely and we had an excellent meal there - my husband was even asked if he wanted the skin on or off his deep fried cod. The menu was varied and the prices reasonable.
There is a lovely swimming pool near the bar and there were activities on this last weekend e. G. A band and a barbecue, neither attended by ourselves because we went to see friends.
The watersports were great and our son was up on his waterskis very quickly. He also did wakeboarding and kneeboarding, both great. My husband took him out on a jet ski which was excellent too.
My son also did the water zorbing which was disappointing but a good experience to add to the list. We took bikes and cycled around the extensive site and to the local shop which was very closeby (plus a farm shop we did not visit).
We didn't have time to go on the dry ski slope or to do the go karting but there was loads available (tennis too). It was a great long weekend and we will return with our older sons.

What a lovely site this was we came in August 2011 and this was our 2nd camping trip, although I was at first very nervous at the thought of being near a lake with a 3 year old son but we were far enough away. We came as a group of 6 families and were lucky enough to be pitched together.
We had no one around us which was lovely. Plenty of open space for the children to run around. Loads of facilities on site we used the dry toboggan slope, the men did go Kart racing which got very competitive, also used the bar area, a great play area only fault was it had builders sand underneath which turned the children very orange. Lovely walks around the lakes.
Toilets and showers very clean a bit of a walk to the showers but we didn't mind. We would definitely return and I would recommend to families.

We just spent a long weekend at Tallington Lakes and had such fantastic customer service from every single member of staff that I felt it necessary to write a review. Never before have we had such a warm welcome either to a campsite; in the camp site bar, at the ski and watersports centres, and from the guys either taking the ski-ing lessons or watersports lessons. Brilliant coaching from the latter to my friend's teenage son who now cannot wait to go back. Our only criticism of the site is the toilet block - an insufficient amount of them, and the condition of them as it is in need of a re-vamp. I would definitely recommend driving 3 mins to Market Deeping to Linfords Fish & Chip Shop - award winning and deservedly so.

Great site, went for a relaxing weekend and had a lovely time, great if you are into water sports
Only thing missing was a shop which this site would benefit from, there is a morrisons nearby but not in walking distance. Had a drink in the bar, where they also sell food (we did not eat there so cannot comment) Staff all very friendly.
We will be back and would recommend a visit.

Tallington Lakes is a great site with lots to do when the weather is fine. Light rain should not deter anyone from the activities.
We visit around 6 times a year, although it is becoming expensive. It is supposed to be for activities but you cannot book 1 night in high season, even if the site is empty. I tried to book for myself and 3 sons and would have spent around £200 on activities, but they still insisted on a minimum of 2 nights.
Toilets etc do get dirty quickly and off season we have had to ask for them to be cleaned, but generally they are fairly good.
