We stayed at this site last week and it mostly lived up to reviews. It's a lovely quiet, remote site, accessed via a very bumpy, unmade track about 1 mile long and its surrounded by fields and forests.
For the majority of our 3 night stay we had the site to ourselves.
The shower/toilet block was clean at first and spacious although you had to pay 50p per shower which is mean on top of the £18 per night. However it wasn't cleaned regularly but we're not sure if that is because it was only us using it.
There was no shop but there was a utility room to wash up with a washing machine that you had to pay to use, but the fridge was broken as was the tumble dryer. The owner's wife offered to put our ice blocks in her freezer but we didn't want to keep disturbing her.
Local information was very scarce just a couple of faded old leaflets.
The Oyster pub is about a 20min walk away down a nice bridleway and it serves really good food, beer and cider. Lots of walks can be taken from the site but the whole of the area is lovely and full of foot paths.
Basically its a lovely location

What an excellent camp site. The shower room was spacious with loads of hot water for 50p, the toilets were immaculately clean and the utility room had sinks, a fridge and laundry facilities too. There is EHU at each pitch too.
The owners were really pleasant, offered free ice pack freezing and had a few handy items for sale in the shop.
The local pub is a 20 minute walk on a path through the fields and serves delicious food.
The best things about the site are the peace and quiet and,if the weather is kind, the gazillion stars you can see in the sky. You won't have many neighbours as the owners only take a few bookings; on my visit there were 5 other tents and 1 resident caravan. I will definitely go back.

I adore this campsite. It's in the middle of nowhere. It is very quiet. No kids, no dogs, no road noise. There is very little lighting at night so you can star gaze. The pitches are spacious all with EHUs. The toilet block is clean. The utility room has everything you need. We're very disappointed that we didn't get back in this year. The owner does not fill the site up and sadly may say there is no room when in fact there is! We hope to go back some day - that's if we can get in.

After reading the reviews about the quietness and location of this site we thought we would try it out
The site is very difficult to find and appears to be not far from some sort of refuse tip, early in the morning we were woken by trucks and seagulls.
We were unable to sit outside very much as the site was swamped with huge black flies, my husband took fly swatting to Olympic level with his electric bug zapper!
The showers were clean and hot, however when we stayed the freezer and the washing machine were both out of order.
The field in which we were pitched was covered with mole hills and one couple had to leave early as a mole was trying to dig its way into their tent in the early hours, we heard that the owner was not very sympathetic and did not offer them a refund.
We found the owner pleasant enough but, he did not go out of his way to make sure his customers were ok. Alot of sites we have stayed at the owners/managers come round and have a chat or strike up conversation in the shop.

It was so peaceful and quiet, plenty of walks and the local pub was to hand. Pitches were large with plenty of room. Nice and quiet in the evenings.
The owners were very friendly and helpful. It was the first time we stayed and I would recommend the campsite to anyone and will definitely be returning later in the year.

Just returned from staying over bank holiday weekend. It is an enchanting site away from it all. The owners are always on site to answer any queries and are very welcoming. Toilets were always very clean and shower (50p) was hot and never managed to run out of time.
Limited mobile reception depending on provider o2 was so so but no reception for orange. Tv had to use our satellite as could not get good coverage on analogue.
Good restaurant in nearby town all though was quite pricy
Lots of wildlife and walks close by. Would definitely go back to escape the busy life of London.

This is just the nicest camp-site ever!
Its in the middle of nowhere, so quiet. Far away from any main roads, it gets really dark at night. We watched the stars for ages last time we were there.
What is also nice, is that no Dogs and Kids are allowed, so its lovely and quiet. The owners are very friendly and helpful too.
The shower/toilet block is nice and clean, with soft music playing in the background
- made it bearable for my wife to use the toilets on her own in the middle of the night! (was her first time camping - she doesn't like bugs!) Nice washing up area too with a little fridge. Its just an excellent camp-site!
Great value for money.

We stayed here for three nights over the Bank Holidays and had a wonderful time. The owners were friendly and helpful, the surrounding area was so quiet and beautiful. The site has flat grounds with no marked out pitches, which is lovely. The hut for washing up and toilets/showers were very clean and well cared for. The showers do cost 20p but with plenty of hot water and music playing all through the day and night who is to complain.
We had a meal in a local pub which was very nice, but mainly spent the whole time just enjoying the peace and quiet, especially with being the only campers for one night and then only joined by 3 other couples on the remaining two nights.
If you love to camp and just sit back and relax or walk through the forest and enjoy nature then this camp site is perfect for you. We will definitely be returning.

We have just come back from a three day stay in Suffolk. It was our first visit to this camp site. We had a little problem with using the sat nav to find the site and this added 15 minutes on to our journey. But after a phone call to the site we were back on track. The location of the site is very quiet with woodland all around. This area is ideal for cycling and we went to the local public house it is only a 10 minute bike ride and 20 minute walk.
Also you have got to remember to take loads of 50p's for the shower. A lovely quiet site and we will be returning. It would also have been nice to have access to local attractions and public transport information.

If you are looking for real peace and tranquillity, then Staverton is the place for you! For adults only, and no dogs permitted it really is a wonderful place to stay. Pitches are spacious and there are two fields to choose from. The shower/toilet block was very clean at all times, and a separate facility room was kept very clean and has a washing machine, fridge and two sinks. The couple who own it are very friendly and always on hand should you need anything! It is on the edge of a beautiful forest area, with plenty of footpaths and cycling tracks. There is also a Deer park close by and herds of Deer can be seen and photographed, along with Buzzards flying overhead. One thing you wont hear is traffic! There are a couple of local places to eat, and local shops a short drive away. I can honestly say that my husband and I really enjoyed our stay and will definitely go there again. The only complaint we have was that there is no wi fi access, so we did miss having the internet but in every other way it was perfect!
