We have just returned from a family holiday to this park. Overall this campsite is good value for money. On first impressions the site was clean, had a nice pool, kids park & a nice walk up to the cliff tops. The downsides (which has already been noted in previous reviews) is the showers! Things to note:
1) Take your own bathroom cleaner to wash the shower trays out as they always looked unrinsed and dirty.
2)There is no-where to put your clothes when trying to get undressed/dressed apart from one hook on back of door.
3) The showers lose power when 2 or more are being used.
The ladies toilet block seemed clean, however it only had 1 sink to 10 toilet cubicles. If this park improved their shower/toilet facilities (which you think they would do if they'd seen all the reviews!) I would return as it is in a good location to the beach & the town centre.

PROS
Very close to Bude town (approx 10 minute walk along an adjacent lane with no footpaths). Also a short walk to the coastal path with stunning views.
Very polite and helpful staff.
The diner/take away serves fantastic food at a reasonable price and even has table service!
Entertainment is provided in the evenings in the clubhouse.
CONS
The shower/toilet/dishwashing areas let the site down. The dishwashing sinks are almost all showing signs of rust. The toilet paper dispensers are rusty with the paint peeling off and look unsightly.

Very disappointed with the toilet and shower facilities. There were just not enough for the amount of tents and tourers. We did stay over jubilee bank hol but this is a large site and so should have more than two toilet/shower blocks (I reckon there were about 100 units camping/tourers) and each shower block only had 8 mens /8 ladies showers. At busy times the ladies were using the mens block to shower in, and there was so much water in demand that the handbasins had no cold water.
The swimming pool was adequate but there were a ery limited amount of sunbeds, so we had to leave towels etc on the floor, and nowhere to sit once you leave the pool
However, the cafe was Excellent. Very nice staff, very nice food, very well kept, very good service and reasonable price. Didn't use any other facilities.
Good location, but nasty twisty, narrow, potholed lanes to access the site. Would definitely stop at another site next time, and did look at another local one whilst there.

Drive into site - major potholes and road humps, made access unpleasant.
Pitch - very sloping, grass overgrown hard-standing with no markings and small pitch area.
Toilets and Showers - Disgraceful, 1st morning no hot water, 2nd morning no water, 3rd morning had to wait for 15 minutes - only 3 showers in ladies block working. Paint flaking off beams, ceiling, walls and rusty toilet roll holders.
Wash Up Sinks - Rusty, dirty sinks. No HOT water in 1 block for all 7 days. Never seen to be cleaned.
Swimming Pool - Adequate but could see cigarette ends in bottom of pool. Not sure if there was a Lifeguard or whether it was just a Workman on his day off looking very scruffy in the pool hut reading a book.
Childrens Play Area - Quite nice for younger kids age 10 and under. But no thought for older kids/teens wanting to play football, cricket etc.
Shop - Very basic.
Cafe/Take Away - Lovely ladies, very helpful and polite. Bloke could do with a bit of training. Food was great.
Unfortunately the Cafe would not be a good enough reason to stay again.
Looked at other sites nearby and will be trying them in the future.

The road to the campsite is a very narrow single lane track which was very tricky reversing 50m when facing oncoming vehicles. The pitch we were allocated was at the bottom of the slopping field and was very boggy due to severe downpours and water pooling.
The dishwashing facilities were very poor, one bock had no hot water, both had rusty sinks and no plugs. The showers were hit and miss either very good or no water pressure, the toilets flooded when people showered due to the floor slopping away from the showers towards the toilets and were in a poor general condition, the worst we came across during our three week tour of North Cornwall.
Bude however is well worth visiting with good beaches pleasent village and welcoming dog friendly pubs.
We would come to Bude again but not at this campsite as it seems more geared up to scout bus trips than holiday makers.

Just returned from 2 nights here - the location cannot be beaten -10 mins from crooklets beach, right on the coast path - pitches spacious - not many are flat though. The biggest let down are the toilet/ shower blocks - absolutely awful - cold, basic - desperately inadequate for the number of pitches - I dread to think what it must be like in peak season, you would never be able to get a shower ! The other on-site facilities are good - well stocked shop, diner / take-away, club house- no dogs allowed in - so we were unable to go in for a drink - frustrating as we do not leave our dogs in the motorhome alone. I think for the price charged that they really must up their game with the shower facilities. The access road is very pot-holed and quite narrow - o. K if you take it very slowly - don, t know if we would stay again, but we do love Bude !

Stayed here last August. Its OK but for the money there is better. Nothing per say wrong just could do better. The site and surround area as after all you cant stay on site for 2 weeks is probably great if you are retired or looking for a quiet week but with 2 children we were struggling. The site itself is very weather dependant as little else in wet and outside we found ourselves driving to Newquay and surrounds as so much more down that way (and more people)

Will keep this basic
VERY GOOD CAMPSITE!
I stayed in premium pitch 6 as I thought I would treat myself.
Pitch was clean, quiet (despite being near the kiddies bit) the people were nice and the locals helpful.
Niggles
There are only 2 things to remember,
1 - the shop caters for most tastes but its not perfect, for a bigger variety there is a sainsburys 10 min walk away (uphill)
2 - the showers, there is only 1 peg so be warned - but this can be rectified by taking a coat hanger in with you to hang your things on, I have seen others saying they splashed there clothes. How?? I'm 6ft6 and huge and I didn't, if your careful your ok.
Apart from that, very good site

Overall impression of site: shabby and in need of renovation and redecoration. Expensive especially given the facilities.
Details: Toilet blocks were unclean most of the time. When cleaners did attend they were superficial in their cleaning methods, they even came in while men were in the toilet block without announcement. I used the showers once and that was once too many. There was mold on the ceiling, grim over the tiles and I used flip flops to shower in so I didn't have to touch the shower tray!
Pitches were small and not very well laid out or separated. Games rooms had many machines that didn't work. Entertainment on site was appalling, there was only 1 night in 2 weeks where the act was decent, 13 weren't. The club area was often dirty and had a lot of spillage on the floor. Bar prices were expensive. Staff weren't friendly or helpful. The pool was acceptable but did look scruffy from the outside, the bit I couldn't understand was it closed 13:00 - 14:00 everyday. Beach was a lengthy walk away. The site entrance is very narrow and there is a big drop to the main road which has 2 large holes which doesn't help.

After spending a week here its not the best, although the site was reasonably clean and tidy and the staff were polite and friendly, the toilet and shower blocks were disgraceful, there was mould all over the ceilings and no ventilation. The kids park was good and the cliff top walk was great, the pool although outdoors was warm and clean and lifeguarded. The shop could do with a bit more stock, the arcade was ok (the kids liked so that's all that counts) The bar and club were great but again the the toilets were poor with holes in the doors and broken locks. After saying all this it was cheap and cheerful, and we would probably return as long as they sort out the shower block
