We arrived late afternoon, (due to traffic)0n 31st August. We had a very friendly welcome and were shown the main site near the play area and told we could pick our pitch. Swipe card given and told to catch up with owners when we were ready.

Very clean and well stocked toilets and shower area. Hot, free large showers, easy for showering children.

Clean, outdoor washing-up area (not sure would have been great if raining!)

Children 11 and 4 enjoyed the playarea. Our 4yr old loved the rabbits running around the site.

Easy to find and near to lots of areas of interest and some nice beaches. Directions given happily by Viv came in very handy.

Would gladly visit again. Over all a very relaxing stay.

This site is fantastic, the owners were lovely and friendly. We stayed for 3 nights and we had a brilliant time, didn't want to come home. Lovely sized play area for the children, which my 3 boys really enjoyed.

The toilets and showers were kept very clean and tidy.Washing areas were also clean, all in all I would recommend this site to anyone,we had a brilliant break here and would certainly come back again.

The site is very kid friendly and great for families. Picnic benches was supplied which was great to sit around the table.A great family campsite.

The couple who run this site make you feel very welcome, the washing facilities are clean, it was easy to pitch if a bit windy,
There was a barn dance with fancy dress on the Bank Holiday Sunday we were there and we had a fantastic night (and a sore head in the morning !).
We would return again without a second thought - it cost us £48 for 3 nights over the bank holiday weekend which I thought was very reasonable plus a returnable £10 deposit for the swipe card for access to the site.

Great basic campsite, flat normal size pitch, well drained soil, even when damp. Clean and tidy areas, shower block has good showers, toilet are clean and toilet paper and soap supplied.

Viv and Slewyn are great, helpful owners and take pride in there family friendly campsite, which they should, they are doing a great job

We as a family loved it, my children enjoyed the play area there, some children seem to run wild, young with out parents near by. There is loads to do around the surrounding area with the castles, farms, bike rides beaches, days out and walks.

The camp site rule is music down and none after 11.30pm which is great for families. There do seem to be more children there than last year, and young ones staying up late ie park area being very active at 10ish with children of 3years to young teens as the area isn't lit they do have touches (this was at the weekend) it is early during the week I think.

The campsite is near to shops and can easily walk with kids to the local spar or co-op and has take outs and eating places, there is a KFC opening there soon, there is something for all peoples tastes.

Oh there are more sink areas being built for us tent users, being completed for the bank holiday weekend if not already, so there is no need to wait at all which is great, I have read older reviews lol.

I would say the only thing this campsite is missing is a family showering block, or roomier showering area as to shower a few kids at once

Visited the site again on 19th / 20th June and again had a great time. Selwyn & Viv are great wardens make you feel very welcome.

Site is clean level and has a good play area for children.

Toilets & showers are always very clean and never seem to be full - not once did we have to wait for a shower etc. The only reason I've not given higher marks for facilities is that there are none otehr than the play are and washrooms. But hey - you don't always need full on extras.

There is a new Premier Inn at the end of the road which we sampled and have to say was the best chain restaurant we have been in (& we've tried a few!) and being only 5 mins walk was very good.

All in all would recommend and will re-visit in future

Just spent two nights for a weekend at Clwyd View. Easy access off the main road. Family/couple friendly site with good basic facilities. Was fairly quiet most of the time - music off by 11pm rule and kids were all quiet after 10:30pm. Site was flat, so good for tents. We don't have kids, but there was a playground and space for riding bikes if you do.

Free electric showers with plenty of hot water, but as with all electric showers, not a lot of pressure. Managed to wash my long hair though. Shame there was no hairdryer or socket for one. Bathrooms sinks got a bit muddy from kids late in the day, but were spotless next morning. Toilets were clean and always had loo roll. Lots of hot water to wash up although you needed to make sure the tank next to the sink was switched on at the power for five minutes before. Not a problem over the weekend as it was left on, but was off when we arrived early on Friday. No electric lights on site except the shower block so remember a torch or lantern.

Village a 10 min walk (although probably a bit longer with kids though!) and fairly flat. Has a Spar shop open long hours, two pubs and a couple of cafes. We went in the New Inn (near the castle), which was a friendly local - lively with music on in the bar, but quieter and with food on offer in the Lounge. Has a beer garden but we didn't use it as it was raining! The other pub looked louder and had a curry house attached. There is also a Premier Inn just round the corner (max 5 min walk) from the site, which has a pub attached and was doing reasonable pub food. Lots of families in in the evening and a friendly atmosphere if you don't mind a chain pub. The castle in the village is good to look round for half an hour to an hour but at three pounds per adult was quite expensive for what it was.

Took at £10 deposit for the entry barrier. We had a bit of trouble finding someone to return the deposit when we left until we found that the lady in the caravan next to reception helps the owners out and was able to give us the deposit back. Would be worth checking with the owners when you check in to make sure they'll be around when you plan to leave. I'd recommend this site to others and would return if we were in the area.

Great site if you're not looking to do too much. Great amenities and lay out. No shop on site but loads of shops nearby and sainsburys just down the road. Friendly owners and great playground for the kids. We went with another family, and enjoyed a really laid back weekend. Picnic benches supplied free of charge which was a god send.

Police helicopter station 100 yrds away but never heard during the night. Road noise nearby was constant but you get used to it within the first hour. All in all very quiet.

I have just returned from Clwyd View I think its a great little campsite, basic and clean. This is my third time there as the owners are great, really friendly and very child friendly

The campsite area is hidden away and loved it, the views are great and is so close to the surrounding areas of Wales and the beaches, castles etc. There loads to do, and as its cheap to camp there its makes a great break away

The camp is great for young children as the park is suited for them, parents really do need to look after and keep their children, but hey there is plenty to do with the cycle trails, walks etc.

There is no shop on site which is great and is only a 5 to 10 min walk away. An ice cream van comes daily which is great to. There is a dining pub 5 mins away and plenty of near by take outs, curry, chinese, pizza, and good old chippy. There are few other pubs in the village area also.

Toilet blocks clean, toilet paper supplied along with soap, showers great, but can go hot and cold depending on the time of day or if anyone else is showering.

The pitch sizes are roomy and well drained soil even if it rains. All caravans and tents are mixed which is great.

I do enjoy north wales as there is so much to do and with campsite it can be quite, fun, clean and cheap. There is a barrier, you pay £10 deposit and you do get this back at the end of your stay. Washing machine, £5 deposit you get this back when the key is returned and £1 to £2 for the washing, there is a dryer to.

We have just arrived back from a two night stay at Clwyd View. The owners of this campsite were really helpful and did everything in their abilities to help in any way they could. Not far from the site they is a pub & shop.

We stayed in a tent The pitches are in excellent condition and not at all muddy even though we have had plenty of rain. The shower / toilet blocks were ok sometimes the hot water in the showers was slow to come on or wouldn't come on.

Really nice feature was that they had picnic benches which you were free to take to your tent and use throughout your stay.

The play area was great for are 5 year old. They also had a hunt on for the children which I thought was brill.

The only one thing that put me off was that they were children off all ages running about till passed 11 at night which is ok for some but when you have a little one in bed the last thing you want is them woken up but I will be returning to try out again.

We have just arrived back from a three night stay at Clwyd View and will honestly say that we will definitely be returning.

The site's facilities were good: the toilet blocks were basic but fairly clean (no hairdryers however and no sockets to plug in your own). Showers were nice and warm but the cubicles could benefit from a stool. The dish wash area was the only let down to this site - only one sink (although it is only to be used by campers) and it isn't lit at night.

The playground was fantastic - some great wooden apparatus with chippings on the ground so you know the kids are going to be safe. A real plus point.

The pitches themselves were of a good size - there were three families in our group and we managed to pitch in the corner of the site in order to shield from the wind. The free picnic benches were a real treat too, great for feeding the kids.

Selwyn, the owner, has to be the friendliest owner we have come across. We received a great welcome, he regularly popped over to make sure everything was okay and he was a really relaxed guy - a Welsh treasure!

We enjoyed a couple of trips out to Llandudno and Conwy Castle both of which were about half an hour away - the site is in a good location to pick up the main A roads. We didn't visit, but we did pass a large Sainsburys a couple of miles down the road so very handy for those last minute purchases.

Overall, a very friendly, relaxed site, in a great location for exploring North Wales and we will definitely be returning.
