I visited the site just a few days after they re-opened for the season. The owners were very friendly and the site was well laid out. The centre of Rhuddlan is a 5-10 minute walk from the camp and contains a Spar which is open most days until 11pm. On the road to Rhyl there is also a large Sainsbury's supermarket for anything that the Spar might not have. The toilet facilities were always clean and the showers seemed roomy enough.
I was on foot so I'll just comment on the immediate surroundings. Rhuddlan contains a partly ruined castle which has recently had secure stairways built into the towers allowing you to climb the walls and get great views of the surrounding area.
Within reasonable walking distance is Rhyl and Prestatyn with all the usual seaside sights. Boddelwydan is also nearby and has a nice victorian 'castle' containing some artwork on display. St Asaph is also close and has the UK's smallest Cathedral.
This was my first camping trip since childhood with my parents and I found the site ideally situated but still quiet. I was the only tent there for the three days so found myself mixed in with the Caravans but everyone seemed friendly enough. I also thought that the £8 a night charge for a 2 person tent very reasonable. I would have no hesitation in recommending the site to others.

Great play area for the children, very delightful owners and very helpful.

This was an excellent campsite, its been 5 years since we have been camping and decided to take our 3 year old on his first trip. We found the owners to be extremely helpful and friendly.
The site has a real relaxed family feeling but didnt feel over run with children, the caravans and tents were mingled together yet the site was well planned. The ground was soft and easy to put your tent pegs in!
The toilet and shower blocks was clear and spacious and the site has an added bonus of a safty barrier with swipe cards for your safty.
There is a well placed play area which is just big enough. It has plenty of benches so you can sit and keep an eye on your children.
A really nice feature was that they had picnic benches which you were free to take to your tent and use throughout your stay. No more eating off your knees.
There was a Spar 5 minute walk away and plenty of other shops, Rhuddlan is a beautiful place and is right next to everywhere you would like to visit.
We went in a group of 9. We had so much fun that our parents stayed on for another 3 nights! its well reccomended. We will be back at every opportunity.

Stayed for 3 nights over the bank holiday weekend, what a lovely little site, the owners were great nothing to much bother. shower blocks were very clean, toilets the same, could do with another dishwashing area. Tents and caravans mingle together it was really a busy weekend, liked the idea of the security barrier £10 refunded at end of stay. site is basic, no shop but a 10 minute walk to rhuddlan is not a problem. Will be back again for a short break in the summer if we get one. Nice play area for the kids,

Just returned from Clwyd View after our first ever camping trip. The owners of this campsite were really helpful and did everything in their abilities to help in any way they could. Selwyn even went to the trouble of finding me a length of pipe to connect my waste water up.
The site is spotlessly clean, and the showers were excellent to such a degree that my thirteen year old son, who in typical teenager style normally objects to washing, actually enjoyed them and went treking off for a shower at 8.30 in the morning!. The childrens play area is good and fits in well with the surroundings. Security is good with electic swipe card activated barriers to gain entry or leaving the site and the added security of all vehicles passing the owners house windows. The pitches are in excellent condition and not at all muddy even though we have had plenty of rain. The elctric hookups were near to the pitches and the 10amp supply run well.
We only spent a weekend at Clwyd View but enjoyed ourselves so much and the owners made us feel so welcome that we left the caravan at the site for only £2 a day storage fee as we are returing next weekend. I also felt that their rates of £14 per night inc electric and awnings were very reasonable. So if your looking for a campsite thats not full of yobs and fruit machines but has genuine nice people there and lovely clean peaceful surroundings then this is definitely worth a visit.

Brilliant site. Easy access to Rhyl, Abegelee, Towyn and Conwy. Owners are very friendly. Site is very clean and secure and park is great for kids. The fly over did not bother us in the slightest. Would recommend this site to anyone and will be booking for next year.

This site is in a great location for visiting the north wales coast and with it located on the outskirts of the pleasant little town of rhuddlan with its medieval castle and local amenities, you wont need to go far, for your daily paper. The owners are very friendly always available for a chat, really appreciated the picnic table that was available for our personal use free of charge. The showers and toilets, were very clean and free of charge. My only problem was that the bins were full, but that was the only difficulty I encountered. Would recommend this caravan/campsite and will probably be making my way back there soon. This site is caravan friendly and it seemed that most of the place was given over to static caravans but I was more than happy with space we had.

Very friendly and welcoming site. Facilities excellent - their hot water's better than ours! - and very, very clean. Children's playground went down well with the little one. Well placed for Rhyl and Ruddlan itself. We weren't here long enough to sample everything in the area (just a weekend) so can't comment on it all yet, but definitely will be coming back to amend that. Recommended.

This was a great friendly camp site, the owners are so helpful it seems nothing is to much trouble. The toilet and shower blocks are very clean. Play area is safe for children of all ages, the site has an electric barrier on entrance and slow speed limit so the children are safe. If needed you can have electric for caravans and tents, I will be visiting this site again thankyou to the owners for a great time.
