We spent just over 2 weeks here for our family holiday in school holidays this summer.
The location is fantastic - out of the way, but not too much; this means that it was quiet (in terms of traffic noise, etc), but not too far from civilisation. The site is right against the dunes, with paths down to the beach, and over to Godrevy - excellent!
Washing/toilet facilities on the site are modern and clean, and can't be faulted. A bit of a long way from some pitches as they are right at the end of the site, but this wasn't a problem - although we did all end up cycling to them most of the time. Provision of outdoor wetsuit showers was a real advantage, and many of the people on the site seemed to be surfers or bodyboarders, and it had a good, chilled vibe. We took surfing lessons from Sunset Surf, which is an easy walk away around the dunes.
Site staff always seemed friendly and helpful, and the shop was well stocked and not unreasonably priced, although Lidl (as the nearest supermarket, on the edge of Hayle a few miles away) was clearly cheaper :-) Price for camping was significantly lower than the site next door.
The only disadvantage for us was the lack of a play park for the children. We took some walkie-talkies for ours, so that we could let them go and play in the dunes, which was worthwhile, but the lack of a play park meant that they didn't make new friends so easily as people came and went - a bigger impact than I had expected on the holiday experience. Our son was lucky as a boy of similar age (7) turned up on a neighbouring pitch, but our daughter (10) didn't make many friends, and spent more time on her own or with her brother than she normally would.
Overall, a great site that just needs a play park for children to be just about perfect.

Absolutely great campsite owners and staff are very friendly, a totally clean site throughout, brilliant showers beach is long and clean and on rainy or dull days there is plenty of areas to walk, nice walk to the right takes you past godrevy lighthouse and onto a nice little cafe, would definitely come again.

Love this campsite. Love to be able to walk to the beach and not use the car. The south west coast path is right on your doorstep too, fantastic walks.
The Godrevy beach cafe, which is nearby, serves lovely healthy food.
The site shower blocks are brilliant. Extremely clean and well cared for.
My only slight niggle would be the lack of hedging/fencing around the pitches meant that you could hear the neighbours talking etc!

We spent a wonderful week at Churchtown campsite. We have 3 children aged between 9 and 12 who loved playing on the sand dunes very nearby. We love Cornwall but had not explored this area before. It was only a short drive from The Lizard, Eden Project, Lands End and Flambards theme park. The site itself has great facilities. It has a very well stocked shop which was so convenient particularly for that morning cuppa! The shower and toilet block was kept very clean and the showers were hot. There is Also a laundry room with washers and dryers. There's Also a bathroom for families with very young children the site itself was very flat and only a short walk from a beautiful sandy beach. We will be returning to this site but book early as it gets booked up very early.

This was our 3rd year on the trot at this campsite and once again we had a great time. Facilities on site are fantastic always hot water. I like the fact you don't have to get into your car to go to the beach.
The beach itself is fantastic never over crowded. Loads of room for body boarders and loads of room for surfers.
I have already book for 2 weeks for next year because the family love the campsite so much.
A couple of other things is that every night the ice cream van comes onto the site and every Tuesday and Friday a chip van comes on site as well.

Turned up on a busy Saturday morning. Was given a pitch very close to reception/toilets, not my favourite spot but because they were full were unable to change. We reversed onto pitch and then before we could do anything else the helpful staff had straightened and levelled the caravan. The pitch wasn`t that big but further into the site the pitches got bigger.
The toilets were kept lovely and clean and had plenty of showers and I never had to wait long, if at all for a free shower. The wet suit shower was a great idea, I wish more campsites had them. The shop was quite big and useful for daily essentials and a few gifts.
The position of the site was brilliant. We loved being able to walk down to the beach for body boarding of just a walk in the evening. It can be a bit blowy on the site because of it`s location and we were there when there was strong winds. Our awning survived but some tents didn`t. The owners did put weather warning notices up which I thought was kind of them.
There are some lovely walks from the site and a great place to tour from. It was an easy road to the site too. The only draw back to the site which I didn`t like at first, was in the evenings groups of teenagers hung about the toilet block until quite late at night. I got the feeling they were regular visitors of the site that perhaps come yearly. I did get use to it after a while though. I would go back to the site as long as I could have a pitch in the middle of the site with a bit more room.

Stayed for a week at this site in August in the overflow field. 1 week of pure sunshine compared to our bad week during the Jubilee at another site!
Pitches are of a good size. The field has a slight slope and no hook up but to be honest was not a major issues. Staff very helpful with a good on site shop. Showers/toilets were immaculate with showers set aside to wash down the sand from the beach.
Gwithian beach is fantastic and spent nearly the entire time there. Lifeguarded as well which is a real bonus. Only a 5 min walk across the dunes
We stayed with friends who were pitched on the main site as think we preferred the field as slightly more informal and better spaced.
Definitely one to recommend and will return

The site was in a lovely location and the showers, shop and washing up facilities were excellent. There were a few hiccups - mainly that the freezers in the shop never really froze our cooling blocks properly even after being left in there for over 24 hours and were perhaps not large enough to cope with the number of blocks being put in from all the campers. Consequently we were concerned about whether the food we had brought with us remained safe to eat.
Some of the children on the site were extremely noisy and their parents paid no heed to the rules about making noise after 9/10pm and seemed unwilling or unable to control them. They played football constantly around our tent tripping over the guy ropes and shouting at the tops of their voices. They also woke us up at 6. 30 to 7. 00 am on several mornings fighting and quarrelling. We did ask the staff to have a word but I'm not sure if this was done whilst we were there.
Badly behaved children aside the rest of the week was lovely. The weather was great and the facilities were very good. I think the answer is to avoid school holidays in future!'

We stopped at this site whilst touring Cornwall in October, and were pleasantly surprised!
There didn't seem to be anyone around but a man soon showed up and told us to pick a pitch and come to see his wife later, very friendly !
Although it had been VERY wet the grass pitches were well drained and didn't prove a problem.
If your into surfing this site is perfect, just walk out of the back of the site over the dunes to what seemed a great beach for everyone.
Went to pub down road in the evening, didn't eat there, but the food looked very appetising.
One to be visited again when in the area, hopefully when the weather is kinder!

What a great family friendly campsite right on the beach.
Toilet / shower block is clean and you never really have to wait - always plenty of hot water.
A small shop has everything you need!
Great pubs within walking distance!
However the most fantastic thing about this campsite is the very short walk over the dunes to the most fantastic beach - which is also dog friendly in places - could not recommend more highly if you are looking for a peaceful location on the beach!
We go year after year!
