What a wonderful site, very clean and friendly, the pitches vary in size so even if you have a monster tent they can accommodate you, just let them know when you book. The new toilet facilities are superb, very clean with large showers and free hair driers in the ladies. The shop is stocked with the essentials and a small laundry area allows you to wash and dry clothes on site. A wet suit shower and recycling point are also provided.
A large holding field can be used if you arrive early, just park up in the field around the back of the amenities block when you arrive (we arrived very early in the morning after travelling through the night) and they will even use their tractor to site your caravan if you want them to.
The site is very free draining if a little windy (coastal sites usually are) Very close to the beach (300 metres) which is large enough to absorb even a bank holiday crowd and is manned by lifeguards in the summer. The surfing is excellent and there are three cafes within walking distance ( The Jam Pot cafes Cornish pasties especially recommended).
The new facilities on this site have made this a firm favourite and we will be visiting again next year.

This was the first time we have stayed at this site. The site was very clean and tidy. The toilet/shower block was excellent and the showers were free. The washup facilities were good. There is a shop on site which perhaps could be stocked a little better, but had the main things such as milk bread eggs etc. The site is not very big, but the pitches were. We have a 8 berth tent 7m x 5m which fit on the pitch easily with a car and trailer. Unfortunately we had a couple of weeks that were very wet and windy, but the site drained very well and there was no standing water. The beach is only 5 minutes walk from the site across the sand dunes, which is great as we spent what time we could in the sea. RNLI lifeguards are positioned on the beach and clearly marked areas which are safe to body board or surf. There are acouple of places where you can book surfing lessons within walking distance of the site. Gwithian is not that big, but there is a Pub & church only few minutes walk off site. Overall a very good site.

This is a very good site, large pitches, free showers lovely and warm,on site shop that sells the basics but a bit expensive,a curry van and fish and chip van visits the site in the week.
Close to lovely beach ideal for surfing and body boarding and well served with lifeguards.A couple of surfing schools nearby and also wet suit and surf and bodyboard hire. Some lovely walks to be had in the surrounding area.
Very pleasant staff. Lovely pub in the village. Lidl just down the road in Hayle and also a co-op plus a marks and spencers on the roundabout on the A30.Ideally situated to visit all attractions. We had a a great holiday even thought the weather was not very summer like most of the time. One small thing the site is a little windy at times due to its coastal location.
We will definitely be going again.

Brilliant site with brand new free showers and toilets which were always spotless, Came here with my husband and two grown up kids who loved the surfing, which is about a two minute walk from the site (couldnt get any closer to the beach). The pitches are all quite large, only problem was when we arrived they was a mix up in pitch nos and we went on to the wrong pitch. While putting our awning up in gale force winds we were told to move to another pitch, which I would have understood if someone else was coming in but the pitch we moved off remained empty for the whole week we were there, so thought this was a bit picky considering the weather. But overall a really good site. Pub just at end of site really good food great and very dog friendly

We have stayed here often, its always been simple, good sized pitches, good electrictiy supply, clean toilet blocks and good showers (I think 20p), outside shower for wet suits. Price may seem a little bit higher than similar simple sites but just think what you save in car parking every day by not having to drive to the beach. Get up and go for a swim before Breakfast and then go back later in the afternoon there is always plenty of room on the beach, its a five minuet stroll throught the dunes and then down the steps, lifeguards overlook the beach and mark swimming areas they patrol and there are toilets at the car park if you dont want to walk back to the site. Thre is the Sunset Surf Cafe at the back of the car park and pubs within walking distance of the site. I feel guilty about not buying local but indulge at the M&S Food in Hayle A30 roundabout. Go to St Ives park at the Park/Train ride and enjoy the view on the way in. Carbis Bay also have a really nice beach and a handy beach shop just for a change of view.

This is my favourite site I have visited. When we first arrived we thought it was a little expensive but after a stay here we found it was worth every penny. This is a traditional site, no indoor swimming pools or sauna's just a good clean site, on site shop that sells local essentials, well set out pitches, friendly staff and very easy access to a massive sandy beach. We have 2 dogs and the beach dose have a seasonal dog ban. However this really dose not matter as there are sand dunes that stretch for miles and are a doggy paradise that can be accessed straight from the site. There are 2 tea rooms and a pub all in walking distance who are also dog friendly. I cannot wait to go back as I loved it here.

Great site that we will defiantly visit again. Large level pitches, or only slightly sloping, throughout the Site with a choice (in September anyway) of sheltered ones against the walls, ones with views of the beach/lighthouse, or large pitches in the middle of the field. Tents are at the bottom of the field (by the toilet blocks), with tourers at the top (by the beach) Plenty of water/waste points meaning you never need to walk far to fill the aqua roll. Laundry room and washing up room at the bottom of the Site with nice clean toilets / showers there too (elsan round the back). Showers are 20p, but last long enough and if you go in `shower 3` there's enough room to fit yourself and one/two young children in all together which makes de-sanding the little one's easier after an enjoyable day on the beach. Site is ideally placed for exploring Cornwall, or if you just want to relax on the beach it is a short walk from the top of the Site over the dunes (5mins) - easy going and manageable with a pram (although you may need to drag it rather then push) Once you arrive at the beach though there are some steps down to it. Beach is great, clean and never crowded - take your pick of rock pools to play in. One that is deep enough to use as a swimming pool if you don't fancy surfing in the sea! Outside of the Site if you want something to eat there is the Hells Mouth Cafe up the road (great cream teas!), `Lidl` on the way into Hayle, and also a Co-Op in Hayle itself (to pick up supplies for the BBQ). Brewers Fayre pub food/McDonalds about 5 mins away by car, or chippy in Hayle - thinks its called "Pauls Plaice" (cheaper then the Fish & Chip van that comes on Site!) Overall I would highly recommend this Site, cant wait to get back there!

A great campsite about 10 minutes walk from the beach in the small village of Gwithian. Shower block was clean and well kept and good size pitches. Very well organised. Recycling of all types nbot just bottles. Milk available every morning and fish and chips twice a week! Perfect location for pub grub, beach & fishing. Just one pub nearby and advisable to book for the evening. Showers were 20p but were real "Power" showers great after an afternoon in the sea!
