A fabulous time had by all. My family and I came to Tir Bach Farm and were very happy. I have mobility issues and it was perfect to get around from the tent to the animals and the showers. However, there are 2 steps into the toilet area and the area where you wash dishes and the fridges and freezer. It is very neat and tidy, well kept and cleaned daily.
There is a barn where they have a pizza oven which is fired up once a week and you can purchase a pizza pack for a very small fee. It is fantastic fun rolling out the dough and putting all your toppings on. In the pack you get dough, tomato sauce and cheese and bring anything else you want to put on it yourself. Great experience for all ages and the kids in particular loved it.
They also have a bonfire area and had a story teller on the one night and she was fantastic. It is very relaxing and the pitches are tiered down the field rather than sleeping on a downhill it's relatively flat. There is also a play area for the kids and farm animals too. You can get charcoal, wood and jams on the farm too.
The barn also has table tennis to keep the kids entertained on a rainy day. Perfectly placed to go and explore all the beautiful places in Pembrokeshire or just to get away and relax. There is no electric hook-up so you can really escape from it all but you can also ask for phones etc to be charged in the main house. The people who run the farm are very helpful and Ashley and his brother and some of the other campers where on hand to help us as we had never put a tent up before. It was magic.

Tir Bach is a little gem of a campsite with stunning veiws to wake up to.
The facilities were clean and there was always plenty of hot water. The kitchen area was also clean with a couple of sinks, fridge/freezers a washing machine (although broken when we visited). Ther are separate male and female toilets and mixed showers. It is in a barn so you do share it with the house martins so there can be mess but this was always quickly cleaned up. The pitches were mostly flat and quite big.
The lane to the farm is long and very narrow with not many passing places. I was pleàsed we were following a delivery van rather than meeting it!
The clear instructions for getting to the site were valuable.

We have just returned from a short stay on Tir Bach Farm and cant wait to go back again - what a lovely place and fab for a low-tech, low-cost camping holiday.
We wanted somewhere without electric hook-up, and where we could get the kids away from the ipads and xboxes etc and this fitted the bill perfectly.
The farm has a lovely little play park and lots of animals to keep the kids entertained and busy. There is also a big barn with a table tennis table for them to use and the barn also has a communal BBQ and a pizza oven which the owners fire up and you can buy pizza dough, sauce and cheese (which you need to book) and then top your own pizzas and they get cooked in the oven - best pizza we have had.
The showers and toilet block is clean and very well maintained. The showers did go cold but the minute we mentioned it the problem was sorted. The washing up room is also fab and kept very tidy and clean and has fridges and freezers in for you to use completely free of charge, and there is also a washing machine and tumble dryer you can use for a charge. For those of you that cant go without your technology you can get phones, ipads etc charged in the farmhouse for a very small charge too. Just a quick note - the only mobile signal that seems to work really well is EE and O2 didn't work at all, although we only turned our phones on for the weather report.
The owners are lovely and so helpful and work very very hard to make their farm a lovely place to stay and if you prefer 'glamping' it up a bit then there are a couple of yurts on the farm you can stay in too.
At the bottom of the farm is a lovely woodland trail and walk that goes down the hillside to a crystal clear stream at the bottom which the kids loved paddling in and there are rope swings in the trees on the way down so a great couple of hours but its a bit of a steep climb back up ! lol. Dogs are welcome here too as long as they are kept under control so our whole family enjoyed every last minute. Cant wait to return in the summer - thanks Rose & Ash for a great holiday and thanks to Terry the Turkey for endless entertainment :-)
PS - If you decide to visit just a quick note - when you turn off the country lane into the farm tracks don't make the same mistake we did. Carry on along the track and then open the gate by the small barn and carry on down the track. We saw the gate was closed and thought we had gone in the back way so turned round and ended up visiting the next door neighbours, but they were fab too ! lol

We stayed as a family of four - kids aged 5 and 2 - for a week at Tir Back and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The location - once you've found it! - is stunning, with beautiful views from the pitches over a wooded valley and neighbouring farms. It feels pretty isolated, but you can be in Haverfordwest in 30-40 minutes and at both coasts in 45-60. There are shops nearby, including supermarkets on the main road and at least one great farm shop.
Washing facilities are simple but always clean (apart from the odd dropping from the swallows nesting in the eaves!) - the showers in particular give plenty of space and include a changing area outside the shower itself. Unisex showers but segregated toilets. Plenty of fridge/freezer space for campers to use.
The kids loved watching all the animals wandering around the site, as well as the pigs, ponies and goats in the fields. The playground is another great feature and is visible from many of the pitches, so you can just sit and relax while they play.
This is not a site with lots of attractions and facilities, but is exactly how it's described: we enjoyed it even in the torrential rain and when the sun came out it was stunning.

I spent wonderful days at Ash, Roze and all its animals. Since no holidays were, I had the whole place to myself. The magnificent view in the morning would be enough to recommend this campsite. The place is very close to nature. The chickens hanging curiously around the tent, Terry and Mary, the turkey and the turkey strutting past a, the pigs grunt happily, the mule eating leisurely on pasture. This is the perfect place to just kick back and enjoy nature.
Moreover are Ash and Roze very nice and always helpful.
The bathrooms are also in a converted barn in perfect condition. The showers wonderfully hot. The toilets clean.
There for washing in the barn a lovingly designed room with Info-Board and refrigerators.
All in all this place is highly recommended and should I ever again be in the area, I would stay there again back. Happy, Ash and Roze!

Tir Bach Farm is gorgeous. Perfect both for campers wanting peace and quiet and for families. It's small which is nice which to stay but it meant the 2nd time we wanted to visit it was all booked out. The farm animals are well looked after and happy and the playground was simple but lots of fun for the kids. The nearby woods and stream are quiet a hike down into a valley and back up again but absolutely beautiful and serene.
Our children had a great time running wild with the other children there and we were very happy with the facilities; showers, toilets, washing up area and fridge. All clean and well kept. We even had Guinea fowl eggs for breakfast! A lovely friendly welcoming campsite. You can get your phone charged for a small fee but you need to wait till the office is open which is reasonable as it is their home too.
It is remote which means if you are after a buzzing pub and entertainment is isn't for you.

Just returned from a week stop at Tir Bach Farm.
I choose this site because I prefer family style sites with low pitch numbers and isn’t your ‘Haven’ style campsite but still gives the kids plenty to see and do. The site is very well located in a rural location with fabulous views but close enough to amenities and perfectly placed to explore all the coast lines of Pembrokeshire or local attractions.
The pitch we stayed on was very well maintained, was level and in great shape for a tent. My car had its own parking space on hard standing next to my tent so didn’t have to worry about getting stuck if it rained and gravel roads to all the pitches.
The facilities were excellent and extremely clean. Male and female toilets, unisex showers which we never had to queue even though the site was full, washing up facilities, a washing machine that we could use as well as fridges and freezers that all were welcome to use. There were helpful notices in these areas, but not too many and not overpowering.
The site is fantastic for kids, my daughter has fell in love with it. She loved to play in the park and made some great new friends, she followed the animals around the barns and can’t wait for feeding time so she can give the owner a hand to feed the animals. It’s great, at all times you know the kids can’t go too far. If you’re lucky you might even enjoy a ride on the ‘gator’. There was story telling for the kids and pizza night was the best pizza I have ever tasted from the hand built wood burning pizza oven. Take a walk to the bottom of the ancient woods and you will find a stream great for paddling in and a tree swing. All the animals are named and beautifully kept, obviously the pride and joy of the owners. This site is an absolute gem.
The owners are enthusiastic, helpful, full of local knowledge and are obviously proud of what they have created in their campsite and give you a friendly informative welcome. We will be returning next year, but not as guests. We will be returning as friends. That's how we felt.
Congratulations to the owners on a superb site.

I recently had a 4 nights stay at Tir Bach Farm. We had 2 pitches next to each other in the yurt field (me and my 2 children and dog on 1 pitch and my dad and stepmother on the other pitch). We all had a great time even through the storm ( Bertha).
The showers and toilets were always nice and clean they do get busy in the mornings. I was able to refreeze my ice blocks in the freezer and chill some food and drink so that was a bonus. My children enjoyed the park and we all loved the animals. We went for a walk in the woods to the stream and rope swing and around the fields when taking my dog for walks the view's are beautiful. We hired a camp fire one night too.
Take caution when driving through the camp site as children and animals do roam freely!
The campsite is about 30mins away from folly farm, (we went to see the new lions) and 40mins away from Tenby.
The site can be difficult to find so do get a directions off the website as satnav might take you to a ford!

On the face of it this site could be amazing but there is something of the magic which is lost by the fact that this site has more rules than you could shake a stick at. Although there is probably a rule about not shaking sticks. The thing is, all the signs and notices everywhere are all quite reasonable requests, it is just that they are everywhere and for everything. They are worded in such a way that it gives you the feeling that you are back at school rather than on holiday. It also gives the feeling that the site owners have experienced the worst type of really inconsiderate campers and that they don't really like campers all that much and expect the worst of everyone because of them. That said, they were perfectly charming to us, very helpful and by the end of our stay I just felt that all the signs and rules and regulations gives the wrong impression and were a bit of a shame.
Anyway. The site is terraced but some of the terraces are not actually all that flat so pick your pitch carefully.
Other than that it was all fine. Fridges and freezers provided for storage of campers food and recharging your ice block. Showers were good, although there wasn't hot water available at all times of day so you had to time your shower when it was switched on. Site owners are clearly devoted to their animals, which is lovely, and our son enjoyed seeing them all. The ducks and chickens come up and do their rounds of all the tents just after breakfast to see what scraps they can find and the very comical Terry the Turkey is clearly a big personality. Playground was a hit with our 4 year old.
I gather they do pizza evenings and kids story telling in peak season which I bet goes down a storm but we went out of school holiday season so it was fairly quiet.
The site was quite difficult to find. Don't rely on your satnav, print out the directions from their website. It is very very isolated with lovely views and bizarrely, I guess because of the height, you'll have unrestricted phone and mobile internet signal here (well, we did anyway, on the 3 network) which is handy for finding your way around.

We've just returned from a damp bank holiday long weekend camping at Tir Bach Farm, and I'm a little loath to write this review, as I want to keep quiet about this site!
Firstly, if you like a club house, pool, all-singing, all-dancing campsites, then don't come here. Tir Bach Farm is in the middle of nowhere (10 minutes drive to the nearest shops), and is very quiet (except at sunrise - expect a loud dawn chorus!), attracting mostly young families (our 11-year old was the oldest child on-site and our 6-year old had lots of friends to play with). However, if you like proper camping, with great attention to details, this is the site for you.
We loved:
* The ethos of the site. We were made really welcome and were given good guidelines about which parts of the farm were open for our use, and were encouraged to make use of all of the facilities. Notices were dotted around the place - but treated you like a sensible person(which isn't always the case): 'Our showers are free, but please consider others with the amount of hot water you are using', or funny: 'Terry the turkey is not allowed in the shower block. Please shut the door'. The animals were great (the chickens and turkeys are very free-range!), and the pigs, goats, horses and ponies were loved by our little one. We also appreciated the clear pricing - £7 per night for adults and £3. 50 for children - with no extras for pup tents etc (which irritates me!)
* The shower and loo blocks. *Free* showers which were lovely and hot, but where the temperature could be adjusted, hot, and good showers - perfect if the weather's not so great.
* The other camping facilities - an undercover washing-up area, with free hot water; fridges and freezers for campers to store food and freezer blocks (there's no hook-up at all here); a maps area with ideas for walks and information about the local area.
* The barn - the hay barn was open for everybody to use, with some church pews, a chiminea you could light with your own wood, a barbecue you could hire, a table tennis table (balls available from the farm) and, our very favourite thing, the pizza oven. On Sunday night, the oven was lit about 3 hours before cooking, and we all trooped into the barn where we made our own pizzas (rolled out and added our toppings). WE were provided with the dough, a carton of tomato sauce and cheese, to which we could add anything else we fancied. Our pizzas were then cooked in the oven and everybody pitched in. A brilliant evening.
* The layout of the campsite. The site is on the side of a very steep valley, but the pitches have been terraced, with a hard standing area for each pitch to park their car. All of the pitches were within sight of the park, which the children loved. There was a large communal fire pit, which wasn't used while we were there, but which provided great hiding places for the children.
* The woodland - we thoroughly enjoyed walking down to the river, with the rope swings as diversion. The walk up is steep though!
We didn't love:
* The fact that there's not a proper toilet bucket disposal point - you had to tip the contents down a manhole in front of the barn, and there was no hose to wash it out.
* The price of hiring a fire bowl - at £5 per night, we thought that was a little bit steep.
* We were also supposed to be going on the Saturday of the Bank Holiday weekend, but the weather was so atrocious that we wimped out and didn't arrive until the Sunday. We were then charged for the full time we had booked for - this hadn't been made clear on the phone, although there were notices around the site saying that if you went home early, then your booked nights wouldn't be refunded.
We didn't do much visiting around, although we did go for dinner at Tafarn Sinc one night, and had a superb meal. They also speak Welsh there so if you're Welsh-speaking you'll fit right in. They'll also speak English to you though, so don't be put off by that.
Great site, in fact, we're going back again later in the year!
