Just spent 2 nights there with 2 boys, 6 and 7. Little Gem of a site which the kids loved. Pitches are close to all facilities/play area/farm area/covered barn/penned animals/goose & duck area giving it a cosy and safe feeling. We walked round together at first but after that I felt they were completely safe to wander around or use play area on their own. More importantly, they felt safe. They couldn't get lost and knew where everything was straight away. Just a conversation with them not to hassle the chickens and turkey that wander around freely and I was completely at ease with them exploring. The site itself creates this with it's layout, neatness and friendly atmosphere. Even the wandering birds, which could be outside your tent at any time exude and add the same calm pleasant safeness you feel here. Fine looking colourful birds and don't worry about them at all with kids, they just belonged and were good company when 2 of them joined me with my cider in the sun. It was pretty obvious that all the families camping around felt the same comfort at not having to accompany their kids everywhere too. They were all happily playing together wherever they met. There's a large communal fire pit which was well used by the families with marshmallows. I only used the showers/toilets of the available facilities. Both excellent. Showers are well thought out for parents washing kids as when you open the door, there's a small seating/drying/getting dressed/undressed area 1st then shower itself. Parents are in cubicle with kids but don't even need to get wet, never mind shower with them. The owners do a pizza night once a week and we were there for that too. Highly recommended, not just 'cause the pizzas were super tasty, but you make them yourselves from scratch in the barn with the rolling pins/flour etc all ready for you to take your lump of dough and toppings and create. Great for kids. They loved making, watching it cook on open clay oven, then eating their pizzas. The first morning the kids were up at 7. 30 saying
'let's go in the woods Dad'
'Oh great, lets' said me.
So we did and it was worth it. Small river running down the bottom, peaceful, just a nice place to be.
If you're a family with kids looking for somewhere safe, beautifully placed, perfectly set up with plenty to keep the kids occupied when back on site without you feeling you need to be everywhere with them, then look no further. The place feels like home after your 1st hour.

My partner and I stayed here for a couple of nights in July, and found it very enjoyable. The pitch was a good size, and the location was picturesque and beautiful.
The facilities were excellent - good, clean showers and toilets, and also a washing machine, fridges, freezers, and some sinks to wash dishes. An added extra that we liked was the basket for fresh eggs which you could help yourself to (there was a trust box for money). Also available on request was fresh ice-cream from a local dairy.
There was a fire-pit there, and you could get bricks from the barn if you wanted to use a disposable barbeque.
The farm itself is quite isolated - off a narrow country road. This is part of its charm though, and means it is close to footpaths. For groceries, there is a good little shop in the nearby village. There's a filling station there too.
We don't have kids, but if you did, this place would be perfect - there's a good size playground with swings etc, and also lots of grass to run about on, and a small ball games area too.
The only criticism of the place that I have is the location of the pool table - it's in an old farm building which is now home to some birds. When we were playing you had to watch where you stood in case one of them dropped you a little present from the rafters! It was charming to watch the little birds though, who seemed to be perfectly at ease with a couple of people shuffling about in their home.
For me the animals were the highlight - ducks, geese, hens, a turkey called Terry, miniature ponies, a mule (or a donkey - not sure), some goats, some pigs, and a calf. There are also a couple of friendly dogs at the farmhouse, who seem to get on perfectly well with the hens, who roam free round the site.
The owners were friendly, and the price of the pitch was very reasonable. We will definitely go back there if we are in that area of the country again.

We have just came back from a week stay at Tir Bach Farm with our four young children and have had a fantastic holiday.
This is a small charming campsite with beautiful views of the Preseli Mountains and loads of wildflowers and birds. The children loved the farm animals and the playground and really enjoyed their little bit of freedom in complete safety, as it is such a quiet and peaceful place. The facilities were all close to all pitches and were clean and very well designed and thought: free hot showers (temperature could be regulated so ideal to shower even a very small child), washing up area, fridges and freezer, washing machine and tumble drier. The showers were simple but so good that I could shower my children without getting soaked or having to have a shower with them. Great!
There are loads to see and do around, from very local short walks in the countryside and villages to around one hour drive to the beaches in the western coast. The Preselli Mountains are also truly beautiful. If you are thinking of buying a OS map it might be useful to have both covering south and north Pembrokeshire as the campsite it is pretty much in the middle. We spent all week outdoors and did not set a foot in a pub, cafe, theme park or museum, just because we did not have the time and the weather was so glorious!
The only thing to bear in mind it is that driving three miles along country roads can take up to ten minutes so plan your shopping. It wasn't a problem for us at all.

We've just returned from a weeks stay at Tir Bach and we had a fabulous time. We were camping - two families with four small children between us - and we were mightily impressed with the camp-site (and the glorious sunshine we had for the duration of our stay!).
The facilities were great - clean and hot showers, fridge and freezer space, access to a washing machine, drier, plug sockets etc. So much for young children to enjoy - play area, ride ons, animals (family of housemartins residing in the shower block and regular visits from chickens and Terry the Turkey to our tents!), wide open space for bikes, football, kites etc - plus the woods, river and discovery of the rope swing made for some excellent adventures (our boys made a den in the woods then returned to it another day taking a picnic!). The site felt safe and secure for our 4 year olds to wander and play without constant supervision.
The owners were friendly and helpful - after enquiring where the nearest shop was to buy some bug spray (we did receive a few bites between us. ) we were hand delivered some to our tent to use during our stay. And we enjoyed the Olympics opening ceremony with fellow campers on a specially installed TV in one half of the pig barn!
I would love to return at some point in the future and will be enjoying the many different flavours of jam that I purchased for many months to come - the jars are enormous!

Fantastic beautiful location, farm has character, farm animals have even more character, owners are helpful, block is clean and well thought out, ancient woodlands are a special daily treat. We didn't leave the site for first 2. 5 days it was that restful. Well laid out pitches. Number of do, don't and warning signs was a bit disconcerting at first but they made the place work really well and children were clearly in a very safe environment. Only original concern was the distance from the beach. The 25 minute or so drive to the Newport area is one of the best I have ever driven. Getting lost is an absolute pleasure round here. We can't wait to go back.

Totally wonderful site, all I expected & more. Beautiful setting, lots to do for kids with playground & barn etc, great showers, toilets & wash-up room, loads of tourist info & friendly owner on hand. The resident 'pets' add a certain charm lol, Terry the Turkey is obviously in charge, but not a problem, just don't drop too many crumbs!
The near-by woods were fabulous & worth a walk to find the zig-zag path, river & rope swing.
Theres plenty of under-cover for rainy days & pubs & shops within a couple of miles.
Can't find any fault, the weather was perfect & an evening around the camp fire was lovely. Thank you & we'll be back

A truly fabulous campsite!. I cannot wait to go back! Despite all the rain we had, we just loved this site. Our pitch was right next to the park, which was a dream for me, being my first camping adventure alone with my two very young daughters, I could keep an eye on them from my tent, saying that, the site felt safe enough for them both to wonder over to the Geese and pigs on their own.
The toilets and showers were always very very clean, with plenty of information on things to do on your stay. I loved the 'idiots guide to camping' on the old chalk board! very funny!. Fresh goose eggs for sale every morning, but be quick, I missed them every day! along with some yummy looking homemade jams!.
We were greeted by the farm's chickens, turkey and cockerel, they roamed free around the tents, but were never any trouble, rather funny to watch.
I didn't travel far from home to come to this
Beaut of a campsite, it's completely out in the wilds. We took our little pooch, and there were plenty of on lead walks around for her. Lovely walks in the woods.
My only niggle, and I really don't want to write anything negative about this site because I just loved it!. I did feel that the tents were crammed in, I could hear the conversations of fellow campers quite clearly.

Returned from Tir Bach Farm after a great camping holiday. It really is out of the way, in the hillside and has fantastic views of the rolling hills and Preseli Mountains.
The size of the camping pitches are generous and are tiered with easy access for the cars to the the pitches.
The campsite has it's own woodland and stream if you are able to manage a few short steep descents and climbs. Truly beautiful and peaceful.
The play park is fun for the younger children and the addition of sit and ride tractors for the young ones, were great fun.
The animals are super. We fell in love with them all, but especially Terry the Turkey, who wanders free with Andrew the Rooster and a few hens! They are real characters, but, aren't pests, they are like the little campsite sentries!
The children loved the fact that they could interact with all the animals and could watch the cow being milked opposite the shower block, twice a day. Charlie and Amelie Jug, the farm dogs are lovely and very friendly too.
This is a dog friendly site and our Yorkie was quite happy here, plenty of walking areas and woodland to keep her entertained.
We found the campers fridges and freezer a great help. You are able to purchase organic apples, homemade Jams and duck and hens eggs.
The showers and sink water was always hot, and cleaned daily.
There is a barn for use by all, with a table tennis table, chalk boards, BBQ, chiminea, punch bag, tables and chairs. This proved to be very useful for us to BBQ when the weather was very wet and windy.
The camp fire is available on the main camping field.
During our stay the weather was changeable and very wet and windy at times, but, still we had a fab time here. The use of the barn and the warm showers made our stay much more enjoyable.
The stars at night were amazing!
Tir Bach is good value for money, and we plan to visit again.

All the positive reviews I agree with, a lovely small, clean, well run camp site. We are new to camping but this was a good start for us. Myself, husband and nephew aged 11 went for the weekend. We chose this site because we know the area and it is dog friendly. The farm dogs didn't come out of the yard but roamed free, and camper dogs not allowed in yard so it worked well.
It was really handy having the kitchen area with fridges and radio. What would have been good to have a kettle( for hot water bottles or filling flasks), there was a toaster there. There was a daily supply of fresh duck eggs, which were very tasty. It was good to have the farm animals around.
The showers were clean and spacious, and house martins nesting in the beams, which was lovely to see first thing in the morning. The open barn is good with a bbq and chiminea and seats, also table tennis.
Our only criticism would be that the site is quite open on the hillside and if it is breezy you feel it.
We would definitely return as we were made very welcome.

Fantastic!
We have just returned from a four night break at Tir Bach Farm, with our two year old son. I have to say that this is one of the nicest campsites I have ever had the pleasure of staying in, and perfect for young children.
We chose pitch 1, right next to the play area, which meant that we could pitch our tent and keep an eye on our roving toddler. He was instantly taken with the boat, climbing wall, slide and sandpit - a really interesting array of play equipment.
The other bonus for children are the animals. We were very taken with Terry the Turkey and Andrew the cockerel, but had to do our rounds of the ducks, geese, pigs and goats twice a day to say good morning and goodnight!
The purple shower block was ideal. Only two toilets for the ladies, but I never had to queue. The showers were hot, clean spacious and powerful, not to mention free!
It was great to have use of a fridge and freezer, and nice to listen to the radio whilst you did the washing up.
The site had only 12 pitches, but felt extremely spacious. Each pitch has its own hard-standing for a car, and the pitches were more than big enough for our large 6-man tent.
The site is remote, which we considered to be a good thing, though if you want a shop and pub within walking distance look elsewhere. We visited friends and family in north, south and west Pembrokeshire, and nowhere was more than 45 minutes drive.
Overall, a wonderful stay on a wonderful site. We will be back!
