Not a bad campsite. We visited over Easter and although the weather was still cold the on site 'Quin Inn' had a roaring warming fire and ice cold Rattlers on tap.
Very windy as well but you would expect that from a site overlooking the sea.
The showers/toilet blocks were clean and you are given your own entry code to use them.
As this site backs onto Crantock Parkdene you could use their facilities also. The site shop was well stocked.

Just had 10 days at quarryfield crantock. This is not a bad site with everything you need within walking distance.
Good points
Swimming pool
Childrens play area
Well stocked shop
Very close beach
Relaxed owners
Good walks
Toilets clean and tidy and never a que
Electric 16amp
Spacious pitches
Good for family's
Free WiFi
Bad points
Swimming pool very cold not heated slabs unsafe around pool
Camp site seems over crowded no defined pitches
Road is shocking onto site and can be very tight. I don't understand why its not a one way system as there are 2 roads to the site
Can be noisy at times late on with music and karaoke from site bar.
Site can get very windy at times as its on top of a hill over looking sea
Could do with being lite up better at night with nice lighting not big football type floodlights.
In all a good site but would not return there are better ones in the same area. Don't get me wrong its just not our type of site. Could do with definded pitches with fences or hedges. People walk through your pitch taking shortest route to the toilets etc. Not the best weve been on.

Just returned home from a fabulous 3 night stay. We were made to feel extremely welcome. Site was quiet and not too far from the beach. Most statics were dog friendly - ours was very clean and comfortable. Good shop and friendly pub on site. Even has its own swimming pool! Road to site is single track which can be tricky if something's coming towards you. Would definitely use this site again in the future (but for a longer period as out visit was a little unplanned).

Love this place been going for 20 years, I booked to go in september for a couple of nights for 4 of us told my daughter we had booked next minute there are 21 people going all from Torquay! I'm sure we will have a great time, roll on September. There are some great walks we take our dogs,
Beach is dog friendly its never overcrowded has a beautiful river that runs into the sea, when the tide is out you can walk up the river into Newquay lots of shops and cafes.

We heard about this site through friends who have been going there for years, they told us all about it so we knew what to expect but they did not do it justice, the location in Cornwall is to die for, 5mins from the lovely village of Crantock, 5 mins walk over the fields to the beach and River Gannel estuary. The beach is just what you imagine a cornish beach to lool like golden sands, blue sea and the waves breaking onto the shore.
As for the site there are two fields top and bottom, we pitched on the bottom one in between the statics, pitch was level, very muddy and wet but the weather we have had this year what can you expect. The pitch we had had no grass on it, the people before us had been there for 3 weeks and not taken up there ground sheet.
Toilet blocks on the lower field could do with an upgrade but the showers always had plenty of hot water, the showers on the top field are more modern but I only used them once. There is a pub on site that did food, very tasty, they provided entertainment most nights either a pub quiz, pool tournament, or bingo.
The owners and customers were very friendly and made us feel welcome, Quite a few people stay on here for most of the summer and I could see why. Brilliant little camp site reasonably priced, we will be going back.

Had a great stay here in August. Camped in the 'top field' on a large, level pitch. Good views over the campsite towards the sea. As with other reviews, if you are towing you are better off entering through the village.
Reception easy and friendly. Plenty of hot water and showers were always clean, though in my opinion the shower heads could do with changing as I had to 'dance around' to get wet and to get shampoo out of my hair. Swimming pool on site, not heated but hey, who cares, my kids loved it. Bar on site and two more in village, 5 mins walk away.
Beautiful beach 10 mins walk, (20 mins on way home 'cos its uphill!). Easy access to Newquay, supermarket 5 mins drive away.
Overall, well pleased with site and will probably return.

For us visiting Quarryfields was all about the location and it did not fail to deliver. We hadn't been to the Newquay area for a while and being fans of Crantock beach finding this site seemed to fit the requirements.
Entry to the site can be a pain. As previously mentioned in another review it can be worthwhile getting to the site via Crantock village as the lanes to the site are typically Cornish and are a dead fit for the width of a caravan / motorhome and the distance from Crantock is far less and almost completely visible once on it (Vosporth Hill).
On entry to the site you are told to report to reception. I would recommend that you do not drive to reception if you are towing as turning around could be very tricky. To the left of the lane before reaching the reception you can see a field with the toilet/shower block. It is much easier to find a spot to park and walk to reception.
The only time I spent in reception was to book in which was straight forward as you would expect. Quick glance would reveal a small shop with the basics plus some sweets for the kids! We were given our pitch number and pointed in the direction off we went to pitch up.
The pitches were of a good size and clearly marked out not that you would believe it with some people who still think they have a right to invade the next pitch! As we wandered round you could see many examples of people's lack of consideration for other peoples space. Ok, human nature is not a problem of the site! Our van is a 5 metre one so with the awning and 2 bedroom extensions on it takes up some room. There was still ample space with all that and the car parked on the pitch.
We were lucky in that we were right next to the electric hookup box which also had a tap attached. Each ehu has points for 4. With the tap being so easily accessible I could use my hose pipe to fill the water container as often as I wanted without the hassle of having to move it!
The pitches are on a slight slope and we needed to use a ramp as did several others. Being so close to the sea the breeze does blow straight through the site. You might find a bit more cover around the field edges which are either walled or tree lined. Bins were located both by the toilet blocks and centrally to the site but were often full to overflowing. The owners did occasionally come around and remove some of the excess but more bins would probably have helped.
On the top field is a good sized kids play area which is fenced off. The toilet blocks and showers are of a good size and I never had to wait even though the site was full. The men's showers could have been better planned as the shower heads spray water everywhere, even to what should be the dry area where you would put your shoes and clothes! Not a problem as you just pop your clothes in a plastic bag on the hooks out of the way.
Next to reception is a pool which is in a hollow so should help keep off any breeze. Never used it so can't comment on its temperature but it did look well kept and inviting!
We only walked around the lower field which seemed to be more about the statics around the outside with a few pitches in the middle for general use. On site is the Q Inn pub which serves a good range of drinks and does food to order. The menu is reasonably varied and fair prices. We were sat one evening when I suddenly recognised the owner as someone that used to own a guest house house in Newquay that we stayed in some 15 years ago! Was nice to see Pam and Pete again after such a long time.
The site was kept clean and tidy with the grass and edges trimmed regularly. As previously mentioned our main reason for choosing this site is the location. Crantock and the beach is easily accessible within a 10 minute stroll. In our opinion the beach is one of the best you could ever want to come across. It caters for a wide variety of tastes due to its geography.
Sand dunes lead you onto a fine sandy beach. The beach front is about a mile wide lined with rocks and sand dunes. The rocks provide some exploration with small rock pools for crabbing in, whilst the dunes provide hours of exhausting entertainment for kids running up and jumping down! To one side runs the river Gannel which when crossed allows you to walk into Newquay town (about 2 miles to the centre). At high tide a ferry runs to get you across, whilst in lower tides there are a couple of foot bridges that can be used. Life guards are in attendance during the main day hours.
In the village you will find a couple of pubs and a small shop. Oh and a tea room which came highly recommended but we didn't visit. Too hot for tea, beer was the preferred option! We ate in the Old Albion which delivered food of a high standard and portion size. Good variety of drinks including ales on tap, just a little pricey.
To sum up, if you want a site located closely to an excellent beach, that is reasonably priced and looked after with a good standard of facilities then this could well be the site for you.
Being critical I would have preferred the pitches to have a physical barrier between them, and a few more antisocial rules enforced. Better road access would be a bonus! Site scores 7 out of 10, location 10 put of 10. Would we return? Most definitely!

We have a tourer, but decided to try a static caravan on the site. The location of the site, near the beautiful Crantock beach and village is superb.
Many tourers and tenters, who told us they come year-on-year. So we have been missing out. This was our first visit, and we were impressed.
Lovely pool, not heated, but sheltered, and the younger family members loved it.
Nearby Poly Joke beach was much loved by the wet suit/surfers, who were out daily riding the superb surf.
The site is in easy reach of so many great Cornish beaches, and traffic was surprisingly sparse, for peak weeks. Bar on site, also a small shop, with sensible prices.
Tracey the (?) manager, was very helpful, as were other staff. Launderette/dryer room with good equipment. We looked at the toilet shower block which was nice and clean. Small games room.
The site was well tended and clean at all times. We shall definitely go back,

A nice clean family site, the toilet block is new on the top field a little dated on the bottom field, water warm and plenty of showers and toilets. The showers could do with a curtain between the changing area and shower to keep clothes dry.
Got a nice sheltered pool didn't go in so don't know if hot or cold. Laundry room has got three washers, a couple of dryers and iron. A pub on site but two better in crantock village.
It's only a five minute walk down to the fantastic dog friendly crantock beach, body boarding, surfing. Swiming all with life guards.
The cosy nook in the village well worth a visit for an ice cream or a reasonably priced meal.
We will be back next year.
Access can be tight as only room for one vehicle at a time.

We Stayed here for a week with the family camping on the top field. The bottom field is mainly statics whereas the top field is a mix of tourers and tents.
The top field is in an elevated exposed position with nice views of the sea, which also meant the wind blew in from the sea with some nights being really gusty. Better to try and pitch around the perimeter of the field as there is some shelter from the wind.
The toilet block and showers on the top field are fairly new and quite clean although the water temp and pressure could have been better.
We used the neighbouring site shop and takeaway as well as their club house which had free wifi, so can't comment on our own site facilities.
The pool was nice and clean but a little cold for the kids. Crantock beach is 5-10 min walk through the neighbouring site.
It is easier to access the site by car through crantock village, as the lanes are wider and easier to navigate past on-comming traffic. Overall a nice family site within easy reach of Newquay town.
