We stumbled across this site in 2010 when we wandered from Crantock beach and though what a really good location so we got some information from reception. The lady at reception was very help full. We booked for next July
On arrival we were early but this was not a problem. we were shown our pitch and on with our holiday.
The site is perfect for its location Crantock beach is one of the most spectacular beach's I have ever seen,
The site has good clean facilities a nice pool and a pub on site that serves good food and drinks.
Will be booking for next year without a doubt.

The site is exposed and could be 'interesting' with a tent or if you had a badly attached awning; having said that, the views are terrific.
This site is a good example of how British sites are catching up with the type of service offered by continental sites.
We booked and asked if there were dog kennels in the area. The answer was immediate and they had all the details to hand. The lady on reception is to be commended for having such a professional attitude
There is a Pub on site. It is more than just a campsite bar. The couple running it were welcoming and were genuinely pleased to see you. There is food available and the place is 'child friendly'
There is a small outdoor swimming pool that is set down in a dip so it may well be sheltered from the prevailing winds. I did not use it so I do not know if it is heated or not.
The shower blocks were clean and tidy.
The only problem is access to the site. It is a typical Cornish lane. We have a 23ft Motorhome with a trailer. If you meet something coming the other way then you're in trouble. The approach through Crantock village is far better. Ignore the first road signs for Quarryfields and continue to the village - keep the Post Office on your right and turn up Vosporth Hill. Again this very narrow but it least it is nearly a straight road. Trevelveth Rd has an awkward turn on it.
If you meet cars coming the other way then it gets interesting to say the least. Shame that some people have never learnt to reverse a car.

Stayed here for the first week of the school holidays, and first impressions were very good on arrival.
We were greeted by the very friendly staff, who gave us directions to our pitch,
Pitches were marked out very well, with plenty of space for our large tent and car.
Showers, toilets were always clean with hot water at all times even in the busy hols
Pot wash clean in a closed room so if bad weather your able to wash in the dry. Also had the little touches of freezer for ice packs and a fridge in the pot wash room for you to put food.
The swimming pool is nice for the kids a little cold but as you know kids are not bothered and it was great after a hot day.
The walk to the beach of crantock was only 5-10 mins and the beach was excellent, well life guarded, shallow pools for the kids and big waves for the big kids with thier body board etc.
Absolutely beautiful location will definitely be going back.
There are 2 shops one on site and one better stocked on the next site, both also have bars which serve food if you wish to eat, and also small amusements for the kids.

Came here with my family for a holiday, it is without a doubt the most friendliest site we have ever stayed on. Been camping all over the country for the last 15 years and have never had such a relaxed week as we did there.
We are going back again in july this year for 10 days. The beach is the best I have seen, its great for my kids they love it. Absolutely brilliant.
My partner got severe sunstroke when we were there and the people on campsite rallied round to help him they were so friendly. Next time he will wear suncream.
Crantock bay must be the most beautiful place in this country, I love it.

Been going to this site for quite a few years now.
The thing with Quarryfield is the location. Stunning views and within walking distance of Crantock beach and the Gannel estuary. An utterly amazing beach by the way, catering for surfing/ body boarding and swimming/ family 'paddling'.
The site has a very modern toilet/ shower block now and the on site pub is extremely friendly and child tolerant.
Site can get very boggy in wet weather, with the tracks getting very churned up. The site is also very exposed to the wind. Seen many a tent get flattened over the years, Delta pegs a necessity!
Small on site shop but park right next to the site has a chip shop and larger food store which you can use.
The site has its flaws but its superb location and overall amenities negate them easily.
Recommended.

We have been holidaying in Crantock for the last 11 years, I'm not going to say how lovely it is because I want to keep it all to myself, needless to say we had to be close to the beach and Quarryfield was the obvious choice with just a quick walk down the hill and our there.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, the atmosphere was lively and full of fun. They have a good shop and if you can't find what you need in the Quarryfield shop you can pop next door into the one at the neighbouring caravan park.
The pool was freezing cold, but on a hot day that might be nice, we spent most of our time at the beach anyhow.
Just one complaint, I got the shock of my life when I went to the loo only to see a guy hosing down the toilets like a cow shed! The showers and toilets were literally hosed down daily, including the waste bins.
All in all a good stay, I just wish they'd employ a good old fashioned cleaning lady.

Not the cleanest or well kept campsite I have visited. It had a portaloo block in the middle of the site which was never clean when I used it. The main blocks needed updating when we visited and it has since been updated. It is well located close to the village and not too bad a walk to the beach. However it is exposed on the top of the hill and when the wind blows boy does it blow through this site. The owners aid it was couples /families only but when we stayed several groups of same sex were there who came back worse for wear int he early hours having sampled the numerous Newquay bars. Not somewhere I'd go to again but handily placed.

After reading the previous review of this site I was wary of going but thought for location it would be ideal. I was not disappointed. The site was lovely and clean. The toilet/ shower block was excellent. The views were fantastic. Everyone was friendly. Yes some of the site was slightly sloping but I think it would be difficult to find a flat site within that area of the country. The nearby beach was fantastic. We did not have any problems with noise. The road to the site was a bit hair raising but worth the drive.
All in all a great site and will certainly be going back.

We booked this site in december for the following july/august. 2 pitches together. On arrival we were told they could not guarantee us being together, then we looked around the field and it was awful, just dirt tracks for roads, and mud everywhere on them, then we looked at the pitches, the ones which were free were very uneven and sloping, the only plus side to this site was the toilet block which has just been done out. But we did not stay to find out anymore, we left straight away to find another site, To get to this site you have to drive down the narrowist of roads. God knows what what would happen if you met another outfit coming in the opposite direction. Defo not going back there!

Have been coming to Quarryfield for about 8 years now and have loved every minute of it. We come in September and so far the weather has been really good, which certainly helps! It is also very quiet there in September and the camping field is quite empty at that time of year. The site has its own small shop in the reception area but there is a bigger shop on the next door site. The “Q” Inn bar area is quite small but there is a big family room and the landlord and landlady really make you welcome. The staff are very helpful. I remember one year our gas bottle for the cooker ran out and I went to ask for a new one and he came down immediately, leaving his meal on the table! How’s that for service. The caravans are very clean, spacious and comfortable, even though they are not the most up to date models. The walks around the area are lovely with superb views from all aspects. It is about a 10 minute walk down to the river Gannel and when the tide is in, there is a ferry that takes you over the river enabling you to walk to Newquay, but that’s a bit of a trek! The village of Crantock is very pretty and has a couple of really nice pubs there. The Bowgie Inn is situate at the other end of the village but has lovely views of the beach and back up the Gannel. I would certainly recommend anyone to have a holiday at Quarryfield and the rates are really reasonable too.
