Arrived two days earlier than booked after having to escape a horrendous site in Royan but the staff were welcoming and let us in. We really loved this site! Yes it was busy but the pitches were large and space wasn't a problem. The site owner rode around on his bike smiling and waving and would stop to chat. The kids loved the pool (although for the amount of campers it was a tad too small), the playgrounds, mini golf, TV room (free wifi) kid's club and exercise area. We used it as a base for exploring places for too numerous to list (read the guide book) but the main draw was Tintin's museum in the nearby chateau!
This is a lovely area with lots of green space, cycle paths, quaint shops etc but only a ten minute drive to the nearest supermarket should you need it. As cheapskates, we didn't eat in the on site restaurant but it looked lovely! The shop was great too as it stocked locally brewed beer so for beer snobs like us that was a bonus. Also available was fresh bread and croissants in the morning, if ordered the night before.
This site is family run and it has a nice feel to it, we were relaxed about letting the kids explore on their own. Staff were helpful and spoke better English than my French. Facilities - toilets, showers etc were clean but busy due to the fact that it was peak camping season.
A nice site in a nice area. Very happy with this one.

Great site for kids! lovely welcome by the owners and great to have free wifi at the reception, good clean toilets and showers lovely pool and crazy golf, stayed for 8 nights would use the site again, but would stay less nights found the pitches a little open and very shaded in the woods, easy to find off the motorway and useful for a stopover site would visit again.

A really nice site with a nice flat pitch amongst the trees. We used it as a stopover on our way down to the South of France. The facilities were good and the toilets clean. There was a nice area to walk the dog and the children liked the pool and the crazy golf. What really made it though was the exceptionally warm welcome and the really nice person running the site. The only criticism was that the restaurant was pricey and the food was very average. The staff all were very friendly and English was generally well spoken when my French let me down (which it did frequently!). Will definitely go back and would recommend as a stopover not sure about staying longer.

We stayed at Camping Les Saules in June 2013 for three days. It's one of the best campsites we've ever visited and it was recommended by friends. Unfortunately there were storms and flooding when we went and our cheap tent couldn't cope. Mercifully the campsite manager could not have been more helpful. He moved us to a chalet at the same cost as a pitch to help us dry out, pulled our friend's van out of the mud when he got stuck and constantly lifted our spirits with his general chirpy demeanour - he could not have been more friendly or helpful. And as it was our first camping trip abroad (with two young children) we will be eternally grateful to Camping Les Saules - we cannot recommend the place highly enough.

Just left rally at this site. It's a great site. The facilities could not be better and all pitches are level and well spaced out, under trees for shade and most on grass. The shade wasn't a problem. Weather not really good but the stewards were always helpful and never intrusive. The owners were superb, spoke good English and kept the site immaculate. The rubbish disposal point was quite a walk away but through a lovely campsite. We would definitely go there again. Plenty to see in the area and two large supermarkets a short drive away. A really good site.

Excellent site with good facilities but cool showers in the large block. Small block fine but loos a bit whiffy. Also sewage smell at times near the big block. Very nice reception staff and they allow bad French to be spoken. Excellent bike routes all around and really well signed and marked - very few hills. Need to select pitch for satellite reception due to trees. Free wifi point at TV Room but not on the site generally unfortunately. ACSI card makes this a good value site off season. Walkable or cycleable to the Chateau if you are fit = otherwise free parking - just over E8 per person for discount tickets sold at Reception and worth that.

We stayed on the site for a fortnight and have nothing bad to say! We would definitely stay again, possibly next year. The staff were very friendly, the food good, lots of clean toilet and shower facilities although the small loo block did smell a bit (we used the big one which was perfect).
The area is superb, particularly if you like cycling. Grab a map from reception and just follow the sign posts - simples!
If you need a site in that part of the Loire look no further - we won't!

This is the 6th time we have stayed on this camp-site. We travel down to the South of France and use this site for an overnight stop, both there and back (not many sites allow one night stop-overs).
A friendly, clean and well run site. Pool is welcoming after a long drive from the Med. Staff speak good English, when actually we want to practice our French!
Fed up with bread, cheese and crisps, we had a meal in the restaurant this time and the food was excellent.
Definitely go back. Recommend this site.

We spent 6 days at this site in July this year. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay.
Our children enjoyed the playground, crazy golf, swimming pool and table tennis. Bikes can be hired from reception (book in advance so you're not disappointed). We enjoyed a lovely bike ride on quiet tracks and roads in the area(maps are available from the reception). The terrain is pretty flat so it's good for children.
The free wi-fi worked well. Take-away food was reasonably priced and tasty.
The only disappointing feature was the smelly toilet block. It was clearly cleaned, but not hosed down, so smelled of stale urine. Not pleasant at all.

I originally stayed on this site about 3 years ago in high season. A major reason for choosing the site was its access to the Chateau au Velo cycle routes. This is a series of off road or very quiet roads connecting a number of chateaux in the area, Cheverney being the closest but Chambord and Blois are doable, though here we are looking at a day's ride. A lot of the pitches are under trees but we visited this site in May of 2012, after they had heavy rain and though certain sections were out of bounds, the site coped easily with my motorhome. Even in August I did not find this site too busy but there is a whiff from the sanitary facilities, which was not evident in low season. I was able to connect to water easily but there is not water on every pitch nor evidence of many drainage facilities. There is, however. A dedicated motorhome service point. What can you say about Laurent and his family which has not already been published, This is how all campsites should treat ther guests. There is bread on site, together with a restaurant which we did not use. The swimming pool is not large and does tend to get dominated by the youngsters in the high season, so uninterrupted swims are not on, but they are enjoying themselves. I believe this site is an ACSI member which makes the site reasonable in low season.
