We stayed at this site in July this year on our route down south! After staying in a number of different sites over a 3 week period we all decided that this was our favourite.
The site is relatively easy to find and is located near a beautiful Chateaux which I am sure is well worth a visit but unfortunately we did not have time on this trip. Access to the site was very easy - especially with our unit and trailer.
Reception staff were very friendly and the owner had allocated us a pitch with very easy access and allowed us to park our trailer on the empty pitch next door. If you are in a large unit I would recommend booking ahead and letting them know that you are big so they can allocate you a reasonably sized pitch.
The kids loved the facilities at the site. They had a great mini golf course, a swimming pool, table tennis and a great large space for the kids to play badminton, football etc. I also understand there are extensive walks and bike rides in the area that you can do but unfortunately we were only there for the night.
The site has a small shop, bar, restaurant and take away. As we had arrived later than anticipated we could not be bothered to cook so made use of the restaurant and we were nicely surprised at the quality of the food we were given.
The toilet facilities were excellent. There are 2 blocks. The first is close to the swimming pool and has separate shower blocks for men and women and one unit of toilets which has a number of cubicles for ladies and a number for men. The toilets have seats on them and toilet paper is provided on the wall outside. There is then another block further down the site. I believe this is an older block but has a large amount of toilets and showers. All kept very clean. The motorhome service point was also located at this block.
The site is under tress and is very pretty. I would love to go back and spend a couple more days here exploring the area.

A wonderfully friendly site, close to the chateau of Cheverny. The owner is a charming youngish man who works non stop on the site. He cycles round, says hallo to everyone and just smiles all the time.
The swimming pool looked rather good, but we did not use it. There was table tennis and mini golf.
Showers were hot, clean and plentiful.
One of the many official bike routes starts from the campsite, so you can go for miles without coming into contact with motor traffic.
The chateau is well worth the visit (It has its own domain for wine!)
In Courcheverny (next door to Cheverny is a fantastic baker. The locals form long queues to buy here.
A day trip to Blois is a must. There are 4 main tourist walks through the town, which are followed by bronze studs in the pavement.(Would be ideal for families to hunt them down)
Nearby there is Chambord (Disney must have had this in mind when they built Disneyland)
We definitely will be returning with our bikes.

A lovely site situated in a beautiful wooded area of the Loire. Nice flat pitches, well marked out.
This site feels friendly and is well run. There is a pool which we did not use because although it was the middle of July it was cold and thundery.
The bar and restaurant provide a good range of food and drinks at reasonable prices. There is a nice rustic feel to the whole set up.
The toilet and shower block were spotless and were cleaned very regularly. Hot water is included in the nightly price.
There are many nice villages within easy reach and plenty of wine producers all offering tastings!
We only stayed one night on our way back home to Spain but I would love to return to this pretty tranquil site.
It is also a good choice for a stop on the journey from Calais to the South of France.

We stayed at this site for 3 nights on our way northwards. On many of the French campsites where we stayed we noticed a great love of camping under the shade of trees where the sun would appear to be the enemy. The campsite was no exception, which is a great pity, because I do appreciate a blue sky first thing in the morning and last thing at night.
It must be a well established site, possibly ex-municipal, because the trees were extremely tall and overwhelming. The chateau of Cheverney is almost on the doorstep and probably worth a visit, but with a dog in tow we merely had to look around the edges. Fortunately there was a splendid music/picnic event in the evening at nearby Chitney, which was very French and entertaining.
The facilities were o.K. And altogether the campsite is o.K., but I wish they would thin out the trees and let there be light.

We stayed here for 5 days this Sept. Ownwers very friendly and helpful. Large pitches, but as it was sept and weather changeable we found the trees gave too much shade - some pitches got almost no sun at all. We were also bitten a lot by midges etc. We were camped on right hand side of site and soon found out why - on the edge of the playing field, out of sight behind a hedge is a large stagnant pond! If you suffer badly with insect bites I would imagine May time would be hell!
Facilities good but water in showers very powerful and only luke warm - not good on a chilly Sept. Morning. Water in washing up sinks only lukewarm - not very hygienic - we resorted to either washing up in the tent or boiling kettle and taking it to sinks with us.
Site very convenient for visiting Chateaux - Cheverny only 1 mile away, and Chambord and Chenonceau also quite close.
This sounds a bit negative but probably only because it was Sept. - the cool showers would probably be a positive in July/Aug!

This is a great site run by a very friendly and helpful family. If you want good clean facilities, large pitches and a relaxed quiet atmosphere then this site is for you. The restaurant is excellent value and serves local and more obvious dishes.
The site is perfect for bike touring and a number of Chateau are within easy reach. Our children really enjoyed themselves at Les Saules and although we thought the pool was fed by a glacier (it was that cold) they did not seem to mind a bit!

This was a great campsite, very spacious pitches, clean facilities and a very friendly and helpful (English) speaking owner.
One problem was that the restaurant was closed and it didn't mention this on the website. We hadn't planned on cooking ourselves as we like to add to the local economy and it is about 1 mile to the nearest village which only had one restaurant or 2 miles to the next which had 3, however the walk home could be a bit dark

Superb site in a beautiful location. A family run site with staff who couldn't be more friendly and helpful. Excellent on site restaurant serving French food at very reasonable prices. We particularly enjoyed the access to miles of cycle paths direct from the site. Very large pitches and excellent facilities. We'll be back.
