My husband and myself decided to take a stay at this site after reading all the reviews, we thought this sounds perfect for us we spoke to the owner, gave her our dates and she told us they was available so we paid by credit card but not once did she mention that there was building work taking place. Although there was some good points ie hook ups own water but the pictures was rather misleading. The showers and toilets was quite a walk, we noticed a few people that was staying there was getting in there car to drive to the showers and also to empty there waste. We were very disappointed that we weren't on the 5 site. Although it is dog friendly we noticed that there was a few dogs just going to the toilet anywhere which wasn't nice to see. We only see the owner once but we didn't think we would have diggers and and tippers working whilst we were lead to believe it was a quite site. I have noticed the owners have now put a review its a little late really as I think it would have been better for the owners to have explained to the people at the time of booking then that way we could have made our own minds up

Just returned from a 7 night visit over the Easter holiday to this lovely little site. I say lovely as it will be once the current building works are completed. We stayed on the CL with EHU and our own water supply. The toilets and showers were clean and hot - no soap but no issues with a lack of toilet roll either. They were a bit of a trek back down the lane but we've probably walked further to shower blocks on big sites. However, the grey waste and Chemical disposal is down there as well which could be an issue for people with mobility issues. We noticed a lot going down in cars. Village in walking distance with shops, garage and a pub - which we did not try. Good area for touring and walking. We went as far up as Carnforth to visit the heritage railway station and down to Crosby to see the Antony Gormley statues. Fitting in Blackpool, Morecambe and Lytham in between! The owners were friendly and we felt it was priced well at £16 per night. We did hear road noise in the distance but this was not intrusive. Lots of bird song and trees so would like to visit again when they are in leaf as this would give the site a whole new look. We do not fish but those that were seemed to be having a good time.

We had not been notified of any building works being carried out at the time of booking although we didn't endure any noise as they seemed to have taken 'time out' for the Bank Holiday. The statement that was released by the owners had not been published before our visit so we were not aware of this.

Very disappointed that we were not on the CL site and where we were placed was a bit of a tight squeeze, nothing like the pictures on the website, which was one of the reasons we booked in the first instance.

If you are situated on the CL the facilities are maybe not so far to get to but from where we were it was quite a trek but hopefully these issues will be addressed once building works are complete as we did see a new disposal unit a short distance from the part of the site we were on so maybe new showers etc could be in the pipeline.

On the plus side your own water supply and grey waste point on each site was a welcome feature.

Shops a short distance away and the Fish and chip shop mentioned in earlier reviews closes at 7pm but there is another one a short drive away from this one which closes at 9pm.

Clevelys is not too far away from the site although it was a bit cold, windy and raining to venture out onto the beach its worth a visit.

Just returned from a three night stay at this little gem of a site the shower block and loos are very clean with every thing you will need ie washing machine plenty of hot water etc. Great if you like fishing lake with carp and a good dog walk around the site pub chippy and a spar shop in the village of hambleton only a 10 min max walk, the owners are very helpful and friendley. We were that happy with this site we have booked again for later in the year all in all 5star would not go amiss for this gem of a site.

After reading the glowing reviews for Queensland Caravan Park we decided to give it a try, partly because of the location and partly the price (£15 per night). To be fair to the campsite, the owner, Michelle, did tell us that there was 'a bit of work going on' and 'there was only one digger on site', but we decided to go anyway. In hindsight, we should have chosen to go elsewhere as the 'one digger' multiplied into two diggers, a dumper truck, a couple of vans and a cement lorry which left us feeling that we were living on a building site. In our opinion they should have closed the site whilst the work was going on but I guess that is not always practical nor economical. Having said all of this, when finished, the site should look good with space for about 6 cabins and 10 or so touring pitches. There is a small toilet/shower block which although clean was basic and could do with updating. Free showers. Hand soap not provided. No hand drier in each of the three bathrooms but one situated in the outer area. There are a couple of fishing lakes and a good dog walk around the site. Nothing provided for children. Would perhaps think of going back towards the end of the year to see what it's like when all of the work has been done.

Quite a bit of land work going on when we visited this week, All the main pitches have been having grey waste drains added to them but some of the this area has also been lost to 'log cabins' being situated between the touring pitches, (not my cup of tea !).

We had not been notified at the time of our booking that this work was going on & found this otherwise peaceful site was noisy due to diggers operating most of the day.

Still work ongoing when we left & I really hope the site doesn't lose it's character / ambience when the log cabins have been installed.

This caravan park is a real gem. We had no idea when we arrived what it would be like. Pitches are quiet and secluded with the feeling that you are well away from other campers. The facilities are excellent and extremely clean. The owners came to see us to collect our fees but it was more like a visit from friends and we chatted about all sorts of things and they kindly admired our motorhome. Unfortunately we were only staying one night so did not get an opportunity to enjoy the walks or the fishing but we shall make a point of coming back. Highly recommended.

Just back from a 5 night Visit to this Site our first time here. The Pitches are Good with Hard Standing, The Dog Walk Excellent. Hubby used the Fishing Pond. People are nice to talk to and Hubby had lots of banter with the Men who were Fishing. The Toilets and Showers are a bit away from everything but this did not cause us a problem Showers and Toilets Clean and hot. The Waste and Toilet disposal are next to the Toilets, owners very nice. The Shovels Pub 10-15 mins walk away. Shops and a Chippy are near the pub too all in all a lovely site, We are going to visit again. £14 a night but will be £15 a night after the end of Oct, Then £16 2015. Still great Value. Not sure if its for Children as not park for them they would get bored in my opinion.

This was our first trip out in our caravan so we where looking for something special and wow we found it. What a fantastic site, lovely and peaceful, excellent toilet block, water and power points all close, set in a very well kept site, 15 pitchers all hard standing with grass either side to put your car or awning. Local shops and pub all within walking distance. We where visited by the lakes ducks every morning which my wife loved. Site owners are very nice professional people. This site is great if you want to tour blackpool or fleetwood as it is central and not to far to travel(15 mins)each way. I would challenge anyone to find a site like this for £14 a night, we will be booking for our return next year and we wish peter and michelle all the best for the future

My 2nd review for Queensland, and I'm not going to say too much about it as I don't want everyone turning up and me not being able to get a pitch.

25 minutes from home and has become my local little haven to escape to.

I'm happy with the fishing. The dog's happy with plenty of nice walkies and the Wife's happy to go shopping to nearby Fleetwood - Cleveleys. Bliss !
