Stayed at this site during October half term with friends and their motorhome as a base to visit Blackpool and the lights.
The turning into the site does come onto you quickly and its quite a way down the road before you can turn a caravan around again (personal experience)
Owners were away on holiday themselves when we arrived but had pre booked our site positions.
All sites have easy access to electric, ours was only 1 meter from the van, water point between every pitch.
The toilet block was very quickly getting dirty with no one to give it clean until one of the holiday makers took it on themselves to give it a good clean. DONT FORGET TO TAKE LOO ROLL.
Fishing lake was weedy but the fish we caught Roach and small carp were in very good condition. Our friends young family also joined us for the first time fishing and each caught something.
Peaceful, pleasant, relaxing. Would visit again.

Just returned from a two night stay at this excellent little campsite. We were pitched just behind the larger of the two ponds in a wooded area which gave a feeling of seclusion. The facilities are a fair walk back towards the gates which may not be ideal for people with mobility issues however, parking is possible once there. As other reviews have stated, there wasn't any loo paper or hand wash in the toilets so go prepared. The toilets and showers themselves are a bit dated but perfectly adequate. Lovely non intrusive owners. Take away and pub within walking distance but did not try so cannot comment. Night times are absolutely silent but the early mornings not so as the ducks noisily remind you its time to get up!Excellent value at 28 pounds for two nights including hook up and water. Will return very soon.

This is a lovely site which is situated in a good area for getting around in good time,
Shower areas could have being a little cleaner, take your own loo roll though as twice we ran out.
Good for walking the dog including some off the lead areas which is fairer to the dog as ours just loves to sniff all the new smells.
Only 10-15 mins to the earnest pub where a decent meal at a fair price is welcomed.
Site owners are very friendly and willing to help or give advice when possible.

1. Nice quiet site, with individual Water & EHU to most pitches, but Wastemaster still required as no Grey water drainage on the pitch. Pitches are firm & level hardcore.
2. Toilet & Shower block is back up the lane (approx 150 to 200 meters) from where you are pitched. Toilets & showers have been modernised but still require some finishing touches and a good clean. Tip: take your own toilet roll as it could prove to be a saviour.
3. Lovely Dog walk area all the way around the site where you can let them run free.
4. For the fishing fraternity:-
There is fishing on site, but I could see a serious weed problem occurring within the summer months, weed problem was already bad beginning of April. However, there is an absolute abundance of 'fin' perfect Roach & Rudd which I caught on Pole & Maggot at 5 & 8 meters, switch to bigger baits 'pellets - corn & meat' and you will connect with the Carp & Tench, but you will struggle to get them into the net due to the weed problem.
There are some big Carp and Tench & Rod & Reel approach would give you a better chance getting them to the net than with the Pole.

We stumbled across this site and we weren, t disappointed, its a lovely and quiet place to stay with a 10min walk to the local pub, The Shovels, which does good food at reasonable prices,
We will definitely be back as the fishing is great too, my wife came fishing with me for the first time and caught an 8lb common carp.
The owners are very helpful & friendly, toilets/showers are ok and the site in general is immaculate with lots of wildlife with birds singing and wild rabbits running free.
We will be returning asap.

Visited this site with friends who stay there often. What a gem! It had been wet and windy when we arrived and the grass was very wet and rather long, probably it hadn't been possible to cut it due to the recent weather. The village is within walking distance and has all the basics including a good pub with excellent food and beer. The toilet facilities were basic but we are not particularly demanding of them and were therefore quite happy. Cost was very reasonable and the pitches we and our friends were on were level and had hookups. The electric gates are rather slow but they get there eventually. The owners are very pleasant and helpful. The location is a good base for touring the Fylde coast. The wind turbine didn't disturb us at all!

I have visited this cl site three or four times in the last two years and found it to be a great little site. The owners are very friendly and helpful when you need them but are not in your face and leave you to enjoy yourself. There is a lovely dog walk around the perimeter of the site and a fishing lake for the use of campers.
Back up the drive a brick building provides you with a shower, toilet and dish washing facilities.
Although you are on the edge of the village there is a lovely country feel to this site with the bonus that it is within easy reach of Blackpool, Cleveleys, Fleetwood and Knott End.
This site is a bit of a well kept secret but I could not resist praising the owners for their efforts in maintaining this lovely site.

Facilities include shower, toilet, electric hookup (all pitches), water and chemical toilet disposal point. The cost of our stay was £10 per night.
My first impressions of the site were very good. It is a little difficult to spot from the road and I had to jump on the brakes! Just remember when you enter the national speed limit it's the second brick gateway on your left (about 300yds after national signs).
The electric gates are very easy to manoeuvre through with plenty of room and the the gravel drive (lit by solar lamps) is both pretty and practical.
Some pitches are steeper than others with one in particular (the one I used) being a little steep to reverse onto. I have a 4 wheel drive and the couple next to me said they couldn't get on that pitch with their 2 wheel drive. In general, the other pitches looked flat. The pitches are all mixed hardcore and grass.
The site is very quiet and pretty. I think there is fishing available but I didn't use it. There is a large wind turbine (I think belonging to farmer) in next field. We weren't near this but on the day we left it was VERY windy (22nd June) and the turbine was making quite a bit of racket!
There is a single toilet towards the farmhouse, which shares a room with the single shower. Unfortunately I do have to say that both the toilet and the shower were very dirty and didn't look like they had been cleaned in weeks or even months. There was also no toilet paper or soap available so take your own! Also the shower was very cramped but if you've ever showered in the caravan you'll be ok!
The nearby town of Hambleton has convenience shops, a petrol station, takeaway food and a cash machine. There is also a pub in walking distance and a taxi driver told us the food was good though we didn't eat there. The next town is Thornton which has a few more facilities. Fleetwood is about a 15-20 minute drive away.
I don't want to create a bad impression about this site, it is very pretty and the exterior areas are well maintained, with mowed lawns and neat gravelled areas. I would consider going back but if I did I would definitely use the shower in the caravan!
