Our second stay here, as we enjoyed it so much the first time. Loads of cycle and walking routes to take you wherever you want to go, with direct access to the Wales Millennium Coastal path.
Took kids to Burry Port for chips one night and watched the sun set over the harbour, which is wonderful.
A large site, although there is now a new toilet block which wasn't there last time we went.
A great council run site, which seems to be getting better ever year.

Well done Carmarthenshire Council. A great family friendly site in a great location. End of August site still very busy but this didn’t adversely impact our stay.
At first site I thought we would be packed in but in fact there was plenty of room for caravan, awning and car and with the country park and beach plenty of room to exercise the children and dog. A couple of days into September and plenty of room.
Site went quiet fairly quickly in the evening. Toilet and showers were clean with warm water. The pizza and welsh cider from the on site cafe were good. Cafe serves food till 8:30 and drinks till 9:30 pm. BBQ with the usual rules.
A great family friendly site with really helpful staff. There are some site rules such as no ball games in the camp site arrival times etc but these aren’t too onerous. Will be going back. Pricing also very reasonable.

Fantastic council run campsite right in the middle of the country park.
Brand new toilet and shower block, and additional pitches with electric and water taps. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Evening takeaway van also a great facility.

I arrived in rain and so had to take a grass pitch as this site does not have separate h/s bookings. In the morning, as my MH was now very muddy, I immediately moved to a lovely hardstanding as it became available.
Pity they have so few hardstandings as the grass areas can be a bit confusing and some vans ended up very close together. After that I enjoyed the next two days very much.
Despite that they have only one toilet block it seemed to keep everyone happy and it was very clean and well maintained. Staff were great and very friendly. The grounds and surrounding areas were well kept.
The park is great with plenty to do and lots to involve the children with. There was a nice steam engine show while I was there which was fun.
Even the walk to the beach is very close although I was unable to go on the main beach as it was closed to dogs with another further down beach open for them albeit the walk down the dunes to the beach is fine but coming back up is hard work for wonky knees and takes a bit of time.

Pembrey park has something for everyone and although the camping facilities are basic the park facilities more than compensate.
There is no electric for tents which is a shame and although there are limited facilities they are always clean and working. The price (we paid £18/night) reflects the amenities. There are lots of caravans and the site can seem a bit congested but it's well run with staff monitoring and supporting throughout our stay.
Within the park there is lots to do, including, dry slope skiing, tobogganing, play golf, cycle, go to the beach, and enjoy time in the Playground.
There is investment being made and it will be interesting to see what is available for 2018
Highly recommend this park for families with active kids.

First week of school holidays so the site was rammed full over the weekend. I knew it would be so I don't want this to reflect badly in this review.
The site is emasculate with very friendly staff patrolling continuously. The staff felt like family and always greeted us every time the went past with a smile and a wave and sometimes a chat.
When really busy there were not enough toilets to go round but it didn't seem to present a problem as many of the caravans and motorhomes their had their own toilets so it was only tents and campervans who had to use those facilities.
If you have children this is a great site. They have everything available to them except for 'evening entertainment'. A short walk to the beach including a dog section, a miniature railway that runs occasionally, play parks, a mini fairground at a very reasonable price, woodland walks, big green areas and the ability to go cycling round the site without fear of them getting hit by vehicles.
We paid £20 a night for a campervan with EHU and included 2 adults, 1 child, 1 infant and 1 dog. I don't usually pay this much but with so muck there, it was well worth the money.
There was a lot of children making noise when I was putting ours to bed (not that it stopped them falling off to sleep) but by 9:30 to 10:00 pm is was silent.

Fabulous country park. Lovely camping site loads. Of open space. We went as 3 families with toddlers. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Clean toilets and showers. An abundance of space. Peace, quiet and fun times had by all.

Great site, friendly staff. Facilities were clean and warm!
Had the option of booking here or on the caravan and camping site, but this one was so much cheaper and is inside Pembrey park, so you get free access around the park and to the beach. Would definitely stay there again.

I hardly ever write a review but I feel I should write this review to help others. The good points and there are many: - staff is very friendly from receptionists when booking, the park ranger and the girl working in the activity center booking. The on site activities are excellent, there is plenty to do here, this is just a small mention of what's available tobogganing, skiing, beach, woodlands, parks for kids, archery and a couple more activities that I haven't mentioned. It's just a short stroll to the massive beach.
Now the bad points, the camping facilities are shocking, if your not staying close to the shower blocks then expect a good walk to use the washing facilities and showers. There are 3 toilets in the far side field for a big site so there were queues to use the toilets. The restaurant/bar was closed down and looks a complete mess and run down. These are the only bad points for us and its a shame, this camp site could probably be 1 of the best in the UK if it sorted its facilities out but as its run by the local council then what do you expect. I really do hope this park improves it's on site washing facilities as I would definitely return then but until these are sorted out I won't be making a return. There is some work being carried out but I cant find any information on what this work is. Who knows maybe next season there will be new shower blocks and toilets.

This is our 12th visit to this Dog Friendly site, over the years it just gets better. At the present time the café is closed due to refurbishment, food is available from a Burger/chip van GREAT CHIPS also various other food and drinks, also ice cream vans.
The on site toilets and showers are very good and the site is kept very tidy now. The staff on site are extremely helpful, nothing is to much trouble. The caravan/camping site is in Pembrey Park and it is only a few minutes walk to the lovely beach. Pembrey Forest is local to the site and is very dog friendly. There are local shops and pubs within a short driving//walking distance, and Burry Port and it's harbour are within walking distance along the coastal track, very suitable for cyclists and walkers. Various event are held within the park and there is even Archery to try.
