We cycled through here on our way to Bristol and stopped the night. There were other cycle tourists staying here also. The facilities were a bit dated but worked perfectly well.
The owners were friendly and welcoming.
It definitely seemed tailored toward caravans and tourers though. The camping field was quite bad, although freshly mown, it had spiky weeds growing through at least half of it and it was hard to find a clear area and it's next to a farm shed that has a generator running all night.
So wasn't really very good for camping but at half the price that you pay at the average campsite we got what we paid for.
I wouldn't camp here again, but it's fine if you're cycling and desperate!

If the secret is not out it should be - This is proper customer service & a good site.
There were 5 in our party 2 adults with 3 children (4 to 11) & the pitch easily accommodated our large tent with porch & my trailer. Only having 20 pitches is a bonus (means the amenities are closed by).
We only stayed 2 nights but as it was Easter they even came round with Easter eggs for my children - brilliant.
Email communication was really good & the site itself is only 5 mins from the M5 so access to anywhere
We have only been camping for a couple of years but credit is due here - will definitely go back

Fairly new to camping but this is the best site yet. It was friendly and relaxed, When asked about access times for the site the reply was 'get here when you like and leave when you like'. The facilities are fine, yes maybe a bit dated but clean and pleasant. The site is well maintained and the grass nicely cut. There is plenty of space for each pitch.
It is very quiet which was great and you have the most amazing view of the stars as there is so little light pollution. Very good value for money. We didn't use any of the nearby pubs so cannot comment on those. We would definitely come back here again.

Very friendly and helpful owners both in person and on the phone. Site is kept very clean, showers and toilets very good with plenty of hot water. Outside sink (with canopy) also with hot water to wash dishes. Site on 3 levels, highest level gives best TV reception, we were on middle level but got all channels with aerial on 4 meter pole and no booster.
There is free coarse fishing on site and I had 2 good days fishing while I was there, had the pond to myself on both visits, bliss. The Beambridge Pub (go back to main road, turn left pub half mile on right) is kid friendly and we dined there twice, both excellent meals (kids agreed too) and superb value for money.
Lovely quiet site for a bit of peace and quiet and stunning views across the countryside. We will return, no question of that.

We went early August in our large tent with 2 adults/3 girls (9-11 years). The facilities were dated in as much as the toilets/showers were a very nice shade of airforce blue, but that was immaterial, they were spotless, with toilet rolls, soap, hairdryer.
There was no designated play area, but the field next door was offered for the children to do as they pleased (which they did). Free fishing also available.
The staff were excellent and even offered to phone for a takeaway if required! Check out was very relaxed and flexible so no panic packing up! In Wellington (10 mins by car) a Waitrose and Asda. Turn right out of campsite and follow small signs to Globe pub which was well worth a visit. Family friendly pub - good food and beer.
Only slight problem encountered was the hard ground but a few bent pegs were a small price to pay for such a good site. Would recommend it to anyone, regardless of age, wanting a nice clean, quiet site.

We decided to get away for the weekend. Hadn't stayed here before and found this wonderful campsite here on UK campsites.
Janet who runs the site with such charm and efficiency met us on arrival and showed us around one of a number of static caravans she has on the site ( she even put some free range eggs in the fridge for us!.
There is a small pond for fishing just through the field behind the site which kept our son happy and a small games room with a pool table and various board games in for anyone interested.
The site is small, well run, clean and friendly. We will definitely be back.

We have just returned from a six night stay at Gamlin's Farm and really can't rate it highly enough.
For the start of July we couldn't believe how quiet it was (although Janet, the owner, said she was expecting it to get busier at the weekend we were leaving on-nothing personal I hope!), we shared the site with a maximum of four other caravans and two tents at any given time.
The pitches themselves were a generous size, each with their own EHU and you were free to choose one from the three terraces. You could hear the occasional car going past the road next to the campsite, but it was by no means constant and after a night you barely noticed it.
The toilet block was a short walk away, and had the nice touch of the doors facing away from the site, offering a degree of privacy from the comings and goings up there. As mentioned before the showers and toilets were immaculate, and had fresh flowers in them.
The same block also housed a clean washing up area with bowl and drainer and plenty of hot water, a utility room with washing machine, ironing board and iron and a games room with pool table, sofas and small selection of books and board games to borrow, which we thought was a lovely touch. This room also housed tourist info leaflets.
The owners obviously work very hard to keep the site to this standard, and they genuinely want you to have a good stay. They were more than happy to recommend good pubs in the area (the World's End towards Taunton was lovely, with great food and ciders) and you could order fresh free range eggs for your breakfast!
There wasn't masses to do in the immediate area, small attractions such as Sheppy's cider farm and museum close by would keep you occupied for a couple of hours. We discovered Dart's Farm in Exeter which was a huge, fabulous place to shop for local produce and had a cafe serving delicious food at reasonable prices. However, it also seemed to cater for lottery winners by stocking coffee cosies and spatulas at £40 a pop!
If you are happy to make your own entertainment and want a peaceful, relaxing break with lots of gorgeous walks, then this is certainly the place for you. We can't wait to go back.

We stayed at this site as a stop over on the way back from Cornwall. This is a lovely secluded site. The pitches are terraced in 3 levels but each terrace was completely flat which is a bonus when camping and the terraces were not steep.
We were told over the phone to find a pitch and strike up as it was quiet and this was also an added bonus as we had almost the whole site to choose from.
The toilet block was lovely with 3 toilets and 2 showers with even a duck board thrown in. The shower was spotless and ample free hot water which you could change the temp and the pressure. Plenty toilet roll, free hand sanitiser and flowers in the ladies so this was very nice.
My partner commented that the EHU were great as each pitch had their own hook up right next to you. Water points were also ample as was the outside washing up area.
My main point for me was the beautiful grass! It isn't often you find a site where the grass hasn't been thinned down or chewed up.
We found the globe in appley but we wanted to catch the football so we decided this pub probably wasn't the place so we went to Wellington and found a lovely family pub on the main stretch by the co-op shop, think it was called the Vintage?? Wellington will have everything you need even a cinema.
If you want peace and quiet this is definitely the site. Come 10pm it was extremely quiet and pitch black.

This is a lovely, very well kept quiet site. Owners very friendly and helpful; facilities block has obviously been there a few years but is spotless.
If it's important to you, we found TV reception wasn't great - probably due to a line of trees in the direction of the transmitter. Our children (8 and 6) found it a bit quiet as there was no play area and not many other children on site at the time.
The only negative thing was the noise of the council digging up the lane outside every morning - but that's not going to happen again for a while! Overall, a lovely site - would definitely recommend it.

Just back from a may bank holiday break. We booked this site the week before for three nights. The owner very helpful gave us one of the best pitches. If you like a quiet site with views this is worth a visit and if you like to fish, a small pond also available (nice carp). Would have to be very careful with children though. Followed the signs to the GLOBE PUB in Appley, just what you would expect from an old village pub and more. Had a wonderful time there and a super landlord.
The site was very clean, toilets had fresh flowers in them and the showers were hot and powerful. You would find it hard to beat this site at £10 a night (elec, hardstanding, showers and fishing) Will be back soon.
