Agree with the last reviewer, all good facilities, only to add that there were two large fridge/freezers for anyone to use, which was of course very handy.
Finding the site slightly tricky at first because the meany local authority only signpost their own municipal site, but actually it's quite straightforward, just head towards St Coulitz along the river out of Chateaulin, et voila.
Going back next year (2017), we loved it.

This was our first trip to France, decided to tour Brittany in the tent as opposed to bringing the caravan.
This is a brilliant, well kept, clean site, Marcus and Julie are lovely owners and made us feel very welcome. You can order fresh baguettes and pastries that are delivered each morning. And if you need any help or advice, they are on hand to do this.
As it wasn't busy we could go and find which pitch we prefered and there are a few variations from ones along the stream sectioned off with hedges, more open plan ones that are suited to motorhomes and larger caravans, we chose pitch 51 which is nice and secluded but not too far away from the toilet and shower facilities.
Having never camped in France before, I wasn't sure about not having separate male and female showers and toilets, however, this did not present me with any issues as they are kept very clean and there are plenty to use. In fact, as the site wasn't too busy I never seemed to come across anyone in there.
There is a nice walk along the canal into Chataulin but check the time that you go as everything was closed when we went in early afternoon, we now realise that this is the norm over there. Well apart from Lidl which was open so we went and bought some food from there to have for our tea.
The other great features of the site are the two large fridge freezers and a microwave housed in a room with loads of brochures and a book swap shelf. The fridge freezers were so useful as we only had a normal coolbox with us. And what we realised on the morning we were leaving is that up the steps behind the facilities block there is a large room with table tennis, chairs a 'library' which we could have used the evening before when we were getting rained on.
If we return to this area we would definitely use this site again!

This is a lovely little campsite in a beautiful setting. It wasn't very full while we were there & was quiet & peaceful. I found the garden & friendly cat and chickens a lovely feature which made it feel homely. While we were there there seemed to be an invasion of tiny frogs by the entrance (thankfully, nowhere near the tents!) which kept me entertained.
The toilet block was fine, nice & clean, but it was being re-furbished while we were there, so it should be even nicer now.
We had an allocated pitch as we'd booked ahead, but as the site wasn't full, they were happy for us to chose another one if we wanted. Our pitch backed on to a small stream which was nice. The pitches had high hedges around them, which to be honest made us feel weirdly claustrophobic, but would suit others perfectly.
The walk along the river is lovely & it doesn't take long to get into Chateaulin. There is loads to do in the area and the coast is pretty accessible.

Absolutely loved this campsite, we had a huge pitch which was very private with trees and hedges on three sides, with ample sunshine all through the day. It has a very quiet and relaxed atmosphere and the owners Julie and Marcus could not be more helpful.
It was great to have free WiFi throughout the site.
The toilet and shower facilities were a bit old but kept very clean all through the day. Washing and Drying machines worked perfectly and very reasonable priced. Once a week a mobile crepe stand arrives at the campsite and provides a great night to meet other campers or the opportunity just to get a couple of hot crepes to bring back to the tent with a beer or glass of wine.
The campsite is situated just outside Chateaulin, which is a lovely town with some nice restaurants and a couple of supermarkets. The walk into the town by the canal is a must. Will be returning to this campsite again, really enjoyed our stay here.

This is a very peaceful site with good sized piches with dividing hedges. The Thursday night Crepe night is good fun. The wash house is modern and there are plenty of basins and showers and loos no shortage. The only problem is that the floor seems to be constantly wet. The Nantes Brest canal is nearby which is lovely to walk by with your dog although you have to stick to the one side for about 14 km before crossing over to come back. My wife did get bitten a lot by midges on this site, there is a stream as well as the canal nearby. You can walk into Chateaulin by the canal in the morning to shop. Bread is delivered to site if you order. The Wi Fi is good over all the site and is free. Very friendly owners. Good site for resting and relaxing and a quite time. Pleasant drives out in the car all round. Small garden with guinea pigs and tortoise run by owners. Small play area for children. We did not have children but I think you would need to go out every day to keep them entertained if you had.

This was our first adventure into Europe with our touring caravan and dog.
Arriving in Roscoff via ferry from Plymouth we had a journey of a little over an hour to the camp site where we had pre-booked a two week stay.
We arrived without any trouble and were shown to our reserved pitch, having requested a pitch that had afternoon/evening sun (it certainly delivered on that front).
The English owners, Julie & Marcus were impeccable hosts throughout our stay, helping out when needed (Julie kindly booked our dog an appointment at the local vets before our journey home, as required by the Pet Passport scheme).
The weather had been terrible during the months leading up to our stay, but picked up considerably after the first few days and became very hot and sunny for our second week which was a bonus.
The site is situated a short distance from the Nantes/Brest canal and provides a lovely 15-20 minute walk into the nearby town of Chateaulin. The site itself is well laid out, scenic and peaceful with hedges and flowers providing pretty pitch borders.
A kitchen garden and chickens provide home grown fruit and veg to buy along with free range eggs. There is also a large family of Guinea Pigs that are always keen to be fed!
The large facilities block houses washing up sinks; hand washing sinks; washing machine & dryer; individual cubicles; toilets; showers; information room with use of a fridge/freezer and a large games/social room upstairs. The facilities were always very clean, but the block would benefit from a makeover. There is also bicycle hire available on the camp site.
During the months of July and August an added attraction was the arrival of a mobile Crepe van on a Thursday evening. Julie and Marcus would set out tables/chairs and provide a bar, then from 6. 30pm campers and locals could congregate (with their own plates and cutlery) and enjoy a wide variety of Crepes, both sweet and savoury along with drinks from the bar all at very reasonable prices. All in all a very sociable affair and one that we indulged in twice
The town of Chateaulin has a very picturesque canal-side location with many shops and cafes/restaurants to chose from. Le Grand Cafe and L'Instant Gourmand being particularly good. There were also 3 large supermarkets. The area of Finistere is really lovely with lots of good walking and many nice towns to visit, both inland and on the coast.
We were disappointed to have not made a point of visiting Roscoff town, as when we returned to catch the ferry home we drove through and it looked lovely.
Would highly recommend a trip to this area of Brittany and indeed this camp site.

This was our first trip to continental Europe so naturally we were slightly apprehensive regarding the outcome ?
We booked the trip the day before going due to the usual poor weather forecast in England !
We got the overnight ferry from Portsmouth and enjoyed the smooth crossing and even treated ourselves to a cabin.
The journey from St Malo to Chateaulin took 3. 5 hrs. Our first impression of the town was good, we loved the river/canal side setting with the cafe, s and bars enjoying the view.
On arriving at the site we found the owners very friendly and helpful, he even offered to help us put our awning up ! The pitches were very spacious and regularly lawned with hedges separating them. The site was surrounded by tree, s and bushes and seemed well sheltered although in places not getting the sun for the full day. The toilet block was very large and had everything you needed. They rented bikes on the site which we took advantage of and we also had a go at the canoe hire on the river in Chateaulin, an easy 15 min walk from the site along the riverbank.
The small town of Chateaulin had everything you needed, a hypermarket, a few shops, cafe, s and bars and a train station. We found the local people very friendly, even though they did, nt speak much english ( all part of the fun ).
Chateaulin was centrally located for trips out in different directions to see the quaint, picturesque and clean and tidy area of Brittany. We found the roads a pleasure to drive on due to being so quiet, in good condition, no road works, speed camera, s or speed ramps, a pleasant change from what were used to !
We got the ferry home from Roscoff, a 1. 25 hr journey from the site.
All in all a very successful first jaunt to europe with our caravan ! And one we will do again in the future no doubt.

It’s just a short hop from the ferry at Roscoff to Camping La Pointe at Chateaulin, so suitable for both early morning and afternoon ferry arrivals. The very friendly British owners will help you find a suitable pitch - some can be a bit sticky after a lot of rain. The all-grass pitches are a good size and mostly neatly mown and hedged, though the poor weather had probably made maintenance difficult. Being in a river valley and surrounded by woodland, the site is quite shady. The toilet block is very large, probably built at a time when the site was bigger, but has a slightly dated feel. In damp weather the floor can be treacherously slippery - at least for my Matalan ‘Crocs’, but the owners work hard, even late into the evening, to keep things serviceable. Chateaulin town isn’t particularly remarkable, but is reachable on foot or bike along the canal bank. It has everything you will need including a large L’Eclerc, where the diesel is also cheapest in the area. During our short stay we did a couple of excellent walks on the Crozon Peninsula, including a lengthy one starting at Camaret-sur-mer around the coast including Tas de Pois island group.

A lovely quiet and fairly small campsite surrounded by trees. Lots of nice walks, especially along the pretty Brest canal which is across the road from the camp-site. Good shower;toilet block and you access a fridge /freezer and you can also hire bikes, The local town is 15 minute walk alongside the canal.
Pitches are generally flat and screened by hedges. The owners are English and live on-site, where they grow vegetables and have chickens which supply the campsites eggs.
They are very friendly and knowledgeable.
A highly recommended campsite.

This was our first stop, an easy drive from St Malo ferry port. The welcome and the site were great, lots of choice of well tended sites and good wifi across the site, and the wash up sinks had plugs ! Easy walking and cycling access to the to the town of Chateaulin via a shaded canal side path from just outside the site. We stayed four nights. An excellent experience that completely relaxed us and set us up for our journey further south west. Would definitely use this site again, for a longer stay. Dave T
