Pros
This site is very well placed for Canterbury (5 min drive) and the surrounding area, and we easily went to Whitstable and Herne Bay for a day trip.
The staff in the office were very friendly and welcoming, which was really nice, and offered helpful advice about where to go, how to get to places, and provided free maps of the local area. The pear juice is truly delicious!
The tables which seat 6 are a really handy feature.
The loos were clean and well-stocked with loo roll and soap.
We had some of the best fish and chips nearby (on the road towards Morrisons).
It was nice to see and hear the sheep each morning.
Cons
I found the pitches well laid out but a bit tight - our boys didn't have a huge amount of space to play footie, (although still managed to have a great time!) and it did feel as if there was another tent a bit too nearby. My other half didn't feel this was an issue so I guess it's down to personal preference.
They have a weird rule about only putting rubbish in black bin liners - they do give you one on your first night but then I'm not sure what they would like you to do as we generated a carrier bag of rubbish after throwing away the bin liner, which we secretly put in the large bins?? Also not very environmentally friendly to use a huge sack for a day's rubbish??
The showers were ok - could do with a good dose of calgon to give them a bit more va va voom - but they were hot, and despite there only being two per gender, I didn't have to wait.
Overall my partner would return to this site for its convenience and cleanliness - I would too, knowing what to expect but would prefer to go somewhere with nicer views and a bit more space

This is quite a surprising site, because despite being on the outskirts of Canterbury, it feels very rural, and as such is very quiet, which is lovely.
The pitches themselves are divided out by apple trees, and each pitch has it's own water supply, and (in the case of the non-tent pitches) their own electrical hook-up. This is included in the price, which was nice.
The site itself is set on the top of a hill (St Stephen's?), and as such, it affords wonderful views of Canterbury, with the Cathedral seemingly rising out of the tress when you look towards the city, and the North Downs beyond.
The site itself is set amongst a working farm (hence the apple trees). There is a section of the orchard that is fenced off from the campers where there are sheep wandering around, and it's quite a lovely sensation to be woken in the morning by their gentle bleat!
The site facilities are pretty good, with the usual chemical toilet points, toilet block and shower block, as well as machines that sell hot and cold drinks, although there doesn't seem to be that much for kids, but then, we don't have kids so it didn't bother us!
The toilets are nice and clean, although, and this is the only real problem with the site, the shower block is a bit of a problem. It's been mentioned in previous reviews, but the block is pretty badly designed. The stalls are reminiscent of the showers in Carry On Camping(!), but worse than that, each cubicle doesn't have it's own drainage point. The drainage point is actually in the corner of the block, underneath where the sinks are, so it's effectively like one big wet room, with both you and your neighbours shower flowing over the whole floor. This means that it's difficult to get dried properly without your clothes etc. Getting soaked as well. To be fair, the showers themselves were warm.
However, shower block apart, it was a very pleasant stay, and we will definitely be back.

Easy site to find within easy reach of Canterbury, Dover, Whitstable, ventured out as far as Rye which is well worth a visit. Quiet site with very large pitches and shrub separation next to an orchard complete with sheep and lambs - lovely.
Personal hook-up and water, the showers and toilet blocks were basic but clean. A few pubs and a friendly Beefeater and good fish and chip shop within five miles. Ken, the owner, and his wife were a delight and very kind and helpful.
Private site where you are left alone to just enjoy your stay. Only regret was we forgot to take home some of their excellent apple juice. (Will always remember sipping a glass whilst we all sat on your swing-seat, thank you) Would certainly return to this site and definitely recommend.

This site is lovely on first appearances, each unit has its own water, electricity and section of an orchard. The downside is the showers, they are the worst I have ever used and I will not be returning to this site ever. The showers are in a portacabin, each has a curtain but the hooks for your towels and clothes are outside the cubicle, in the public area. There is no drainage, just a hole in the corner. The floor is constantly wet and dirty with footprints, the door is left open to try to dry this out, which isn't good when you are trying to shower, there is no privacy at all. We stopped here on our way back from France, we paid £25 a night upfront and then felt like we were trapped here for the 4 nights we had paid for. Never again.

Just returned from this lovely site.
Lets get the criticism done first.
The shower block, basic is ok, cold isn't, not the water, that was great. The main door wouldn't latch shut and the roof is a hard type of plastic, if it is chilly outside it's cold inside, it really needs sorting.
Other than that we loved it, in amongst the apple trees, with nice company to talk to in the adjoining pitch, water taps everywhere, large tables between the pitches with fitted stone slabs for bbq's on them.
The people who run it are brilliant to talk to, great sense of humour, and very knowledgeable of the city and the surrounding area.
There is no facilities for the kids that were there, but that didn't stop them, it was nice to see them playing 'properly', using their imaginations, charging about in the fresh air.
Definitely going back, loved it.

We stayed for 2 nights over the BH weekend with friends on the next pitch. Very friendly owners and nice size pitches. We had water stand only & no EHU. As said the toilets & showers are basic but adequate and never had to queue. You can her the road & I was woken at 2am by motorbikes early Sun am but both mornings woken by the morning bird song at 4am!
Had an enjoyable time although early nights when the night fell as a bit chilly to sit up. Would be happy to go back

The site was great, everything close to hand showers and toilets etc. Canterbury was just a 20 minute walk with lots of things to see and do, as well as good places to eat.
The site had a real friendly atmosphere and nothing was too much trouble and included great views of Canterbury which you could see the cathedral.
Ideal place for all campers whether caravans or tents.
A certain return trip on the cards.

A lovely campsite just a 5 minute drive from Canterbury with its huge array of shops, restaurants and of course the amazing cathedral.
The owners greeted us with a huge warm welcome and we were personally taken to our pitch and told to just spread out. We have a big tent and vestibule and we had plenty of space.
The site has a really nice feel about it and is very peaceful apart from the gentle bleating of sheep in the distance. As other reviews have said the toilets and showers are very basic but we knew this when we booked.
We had 12 friends and family over for a BBQ on our 2nd day and the owners let us keep all the food and drink in their big fridge. They were happy for us to go in and out of their office/shop to access the fridge and we were also able to keep ice blocks in their freezer.
If we have one gripe it would be that there is just a very low down hot hose pipe situated between the ladies and gents toilets for doing your washing up. If the pipe was higher and there was at least a table to put your things on as you washed up it would make things a lot easier but it didn't in anyway spoil our holiday it just meant neither of us was very quick offering to do the washing-up!
The friendliness of the owners, their willingness to help in any way they can and the location and relaxed feel of the site more than makes up for the major downfall of the basic facilities. We are looking forward to returning next year.

We stayed here for our first ever caravan holiday. Found it on UKCampsite.co.uk. Very friendly and helpful people, running a peaceful clean site. Tight driveway to it, watch for exiting vehicles, cyclists etc. No silly rules, and they don't tolerate bad behaviour or excessive language. Thank you. Home made marmalade excellent. Well maintained and clean, but toilet/shower facilities need an upgrade. Overall a great touring base.

Lovely little site. Perfect for a peaceful, relaxing break. Very pretty as pitches are separated by fruit trees & you can purchase home made jam & juices.
Owners very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the area. We had a large tent plus extras which was no trouble at all. 'Spread out' they said.
Understandably, in present financial climate, makeovers are difficult, but maybe when profits are healthier, a revamp of the showers would be beneficial, although they worked and were nice and warm.
However, a great, friendly base for touring Canterbury & the lovely sandy beaches close by. Small shop sold essentials.
