Lovely place, lovely owner. So close to Canterbury, but so peaceful. Cycle path from site down to the town; ask for a map.
They have showers now, no extra charge.

We have just returned from a very peaceful nights stay at this lovely site.
This is just the sort of site we love no fancy shower block just a very adequate basic portable cabin with loos and a washbasin.
The owners are very very helpful and gave us really helpful information of the area.
The main reason we stayed in this area was to visit Blean Woods which was just a short walk away
We are going back very shortly

I took three young children to this site as the weather was too good to be at home indoors - even though 'indoors' is only 20 miles away.
The site was easy to find: a large white water tower is a useful marker to the turning off the main road that leads to the owner's place, warehouse (some farm shop basics available here) and camping fields. The pitches have been marked out by removing part of a row of apple trees in an old orchard, so there are trees to each side that lend some sense of privacy. A larger square of field was big enough for football and frisbee and general running about.
Facilities are very basic - portakabin loos with hand basin and nothing else - but adequate for a short stay with a tent. The owner is considering building a small shower block so that may be in by the 2010 season. Electric hookup is included in the very reasonable price.
There are sheep to gaze at, walks and woods nearby, and a field of old farm machinery that was a magnet to small people. The nearest shop is well-stocked and friendly and open quite long hours, and it looked like there was a pub or two in the village.
Canterbury is just down the hill. It's not too far from the train station to walk but buses that serve the University will take the brunt of the hill. It's maybe another 10 minutes from the Uni entrance.
We would return, definitely.

Just been to Neals Place Farm for 4 nights and really enjoyed our stay. It is signposted from the main road and as you go down a small road to get to it, go straight to the end and continue round until you reach the farm grounds itself and the wooden farm house. The pitches are set in an orchard, you get your own space and privacy and plenty of room, your own electric hook up and water pipe. If you go to the bottom of the orchard you can see Canterbury Cathedral, which is lit up at night. It is a quiet, tranquil place, sheep in surrounding orchard and ideal if you want a peaceful holiday. There are toilets and wash basins but unfortunately no shower but clean and well kept, also chemical toilet disposal facility. There is a small farm shop with local produce eg. Strawberries etc. The owners Thora and Ken were lovely, very friendly and very helpful but not intrusive at all. All in all a highly recommended stay, beautiful surroundings and just short walk from Canterbury itself.
