We stayed here in mid July for a few days before journeying up to Whitstable for the Oyster festival. Despite arriving slightly late in the evening, the site owner was accommodating and helpful.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our pitch at the bottom of the tent field overlooked a field of grazing sheep, and the site was really peaceful. As others have said showers/toilets are relatively basic but more than serviceable for what we wanted. Being able to park you car next to your pitch was a nice bonus for us.
Unless we were missing a well hidden shortcut, I would say the quoted 20 minute walk into Canterbury is on the optimistic side. Unless you're planning to powerwalk it, leave yourself at least half an hour to do it in. Especially the walk home which is up a steep hill.
But it's certainly close enough to walk into town and back for a drink and a meal, or sightseeing, if you're prepared for a bit of exercise. There is also a bus that stops not far from the campsite which will take you into town and back if you're unable, or don't fancy the walk.
Canterbury has a range of lovely places to eat and drink, but we particularly recommend Deeson's for dinner (well worth the money) and The Foundry for a drink if you like your beer, but want something different to the Sheperd Neame ales that are ubiquitous in this part of Kent.
For us it was the perfect balance of being close enough to easily access the bustle of Canterbury, but far enough off the main roads to offer peace and tranquillity. We found it the perfect base to explore Canterbury and the surrounding area, and will definitely be back.

Right on the outskirts of Canterbury, but with a very rural feel. This campsite is situated near great beaches, history, architecture, wildlife and the channel crossing !
The pitches are large, level and serviced with ehu and water. Yes the toilet/shower block is a bit outdated but they were clean and serviceable. The staff were lovely ( as was the homemade lemon marmalade ).
There doesn't seem much for children on site, but running around like mad things and the usual field games kept them occupied.
We spent a very enjoyable weekend here. Would we go back ? Yes definitely

The campsite is really lovely, it's spacious and quiet, the owner is friendly and helpful, there's no playground but there's lots of room for children to run and play games. It's walking distance to Canterbury and is a good stop over if you're on route to or from Dover.
The pitches are level and clearly marked out, the caravan pitches separated from their neighbours by fruit trees and hedges. There was water on each caravan pitch, and there's a hot drinks machine on site.
I'm really unsure of how to grade it for this review, though, as if you like your facilities to be more than basic, this may not be the site for you.
The loos and showers are just portable cabins, and although both were reasonably clean, the showers were a step too basic for me - they were effectively a wetroom divided by a couple of shower curtains, with a hole drilled in the floor, just about OK if you were in on your own, but not pleasant with another occupant.
I think we'd visit again as the plus points do outweigh the minuses - but I'd definitely be using our own facilities!

Lovely peaceful site. Loads of space and really like the way your pitch is separated by small apple trees.
Also liked that every pitch had its own water and electric supply. There is plenty of space for the kids to play.
Owners were very friendly and helpful. The whole site was immaculate. The grass was cut and rolled regularly.
Toilets were ok and not too far away.
Hope to return in a few weeks for another short break.

This is a really lovely camp site within easy walking distance of the centre of Canterbury. The owners are very friendly and helpful and there is an on-site shop selling essential items, meat for BBQs, milk, ice creams etc.
Whilst the showers may not be the best I've ever encountered they were perfectly serviceable and clean. My partner (who likes his showers hot enough to flay the skin off his back) thought that the water temperature may not have been warm enough if staying at the beginning of end of the season but in mid-June it was perfectly fine.
There's plenty of space so you don't feel crowded and the ground is lovely and spongy and, more importantly, very level. Cars can be parked next to your tent and there are cold water taps every couple of meters along the tree line. Big picnic tables and chairs are dotted around the place and these can be moved to suit.
Brilliant base for exploring the North Downs and Pilgrims' Way with all the convenience of being close to a city with lovely buildings, pubs (try the Foundary if you like tasty, brewed-on-the-premises real ale - particularly the porter) and just about every type of cuisine you can imagine.
Finally this was the cheapest camp site I could find in this area - £2. 50 per person per night and £10 per night for a tent.
A real find and we'll definitely be back if we're walking in the area in the future

Just returned from Neals farm it's so peaceful and just the place to unwind and so close to Canterbury and seaside the kids loved it.
The showers were a little bit dated but worked fine the toilets were clean, there's not much to buy in the shop but 5mins away is a londis.
we will definitely be going again cost was £75 for 3nights £5 for the bbq. The owner is so nice.
Electric hook up and water for caravans and electric hook up for tents, there are sheep on the farm and acres of land to walk the dog. Owners are allowed 2 dogs per unit if you walk out of the site there is a walk called the crab and winlke line which is partly an old railway line which goes to Whitstable, Canterbury town centre reminds me of Cornwall with the narrow streets and shops all in all a first rate place to use as a base.

Used this site to try our new awning and to finally visit Canterbury.
The owner is very friendly and jovial. Kept asking if we had all we needed - nice touch.
The site is quite basic in a such the toilets and showers, but the pitches are level and most appear to have access to electric.
The toilets were as mentioned and are little more than Portable cabins, as are the washing up facilities but they are serviceable and do what they say on the tin.
Very quiet site - good for older couples. We liked it.
Close to Canterbury City Centre (20 Min walk) Site was good value for money and we would use again.

Great little find, set on a pretty orchard farm site - one of those you are tempted not to share!
As mentioned before really friendly owners, encouraged to stay as long past 12 as needed without prompting.
The toilets/showers are basic, but perfectly fine for a freshen up (showers could have done with a turn on the heat though!).
Nice touches - electric pitches with their own water supply; the owners put out bin bags on each pitch; pitches a great size with reasonable privacy due to orchard groves.
Quiet, relaxing, convenient for Canterbury - overall highly recommended!

Nice quiet site on the outskirts of Canterbury. The owners are very friendly. The toilets are okay but nothing special and the showers were never hot. Although they are free.
It was okay for a short stay, We only stayed for a short break of three days.We used it as a base to visit places such as Deal, Sandwich which is lovely and whitstable.
Highly recommend the oysters from the harbour stalls. The old town and cathedral are a must visit in Canterbury.
Broadstairs is another nice place for a day out. All in all not a bad site.

My good Lady and I have just returned from spending a couple of nights Neals Place Farm and had a thoroughly pleasant time. The owners each have a PhD in being warm, charming and welcoming which more than makes up for the very small issues with this site.
The site itself is a pretty looking field with small apple trees dividing pitches with various bits of farm equipment scattered around the edge in a most appealing manner(I don't know what it is but a big, shiny red tractor still gets me excited at the age of 45 lol- your nippers will love them.) There are also some hairy pre-pies in the local fields, mostly sheep I think, but please don't trust me on that. I was expecting the street-lighting from Canterbury to be a serious issue stopping me from watching the stars but I was pleasantly surprised when I was able to watch various satellites buzz across the sky with pretty much all constellations visible. I have to say that there was a surprising level of helicopter traffic for which I can offer no adequate reason- it was not intrusive just occasionally there.
The facilities, showers, loos and shop I have seen better on other sites. The loos are shed-like porta-cabin thing, and, in the Men's the paint on the floor is wearing away with use. However, they are very clean and do not have the bundles of dead spiders or webs tucked in corners found on many other sites. The heat of the water in the men's loo is capable of melting your wedding ring so be warned. The showers are cold. The shop sells soft drinks, milk, soft drinks plus an excellent Apple Juice:)There is also a drinks facility, Tea, Coffee and Choc as well as cold drinks.
Overall, I would happily recommend Neals Place Farm especially if you have small humans.
